Charms are the trinkets that activate automatically once their condition is fulfilled and last for, usually, 3 or 4 seconds. During this time they provide you with a bonus, most of the time correlated with the condition that triggered them; for example, after taking fire damage, a ruby charm will grant you some extra fire resistance. A character is capable of equipping up to 3 Charms depending on their belt, but that number may increase in the future alongside the introduction of new belts.

Any character can use any Charm they like, they only possess a level restriction. They also don't seem very impactful at first glance. At low levels, you will probably wear them to patch up a single missing resistance or change them before a particularly tough boss fight to avoid being frozen or stunned. Later on, they are great at disabling pesky ailments like freeze or bleed that you are just not suited to deal with, or increasing the rarity of items found. Unique Charms, however, change the build drastically, and on some occasions, they are the cornerstone of a build, as is the case with Beira's Anguish.
