Items play a crucial part in EVE Online's Universe. The game itself has one of the most complex and interesting Itemization systems which includes a lot of different item types for different purposes. You could divide EVE Items into four "primary" categories: Items that are used to alter, upgrade, boost, etc. your character (called Pilot in EVE Online), Items that are used to build, modify, upgrade Ships, other constructions and objects, Currency Items like ISK and PLEX, and Blueprints, which teach you how to create a lot of Items from the earlier two subcategories. This is our's open-ended apportionment, so some items may fit into different categories, but it should give you a general idea of how itemization works in EVE Online. In our first category we could put:

1. Implants - Items that are plugged into your character's brain to boost certain skills, attributes, help you level up faster, and be more effective overall. This group can also include Augmentations, which work in a similar way to Implants, however, their bonuses do not fit the standard pattern;
2. Skill Extractors and Skill Injectors - which are used to extract and inject Skillpoints from characters. These two types of Items are the core of Skillpoint trading system in EVE Online, as both of them are one of the most sought after and demanded wares in EVE Online;
3. Apparel Items - mainly cosmetic Items that change your character's visual appearance. This group includes eyewear, bottoms, footwear, headwear, prosthetics, tattoos, tops, and more;
4. Multiple Pilot Training Certificate - which allows the player to train an additional character simultaneously. This can be purchased with PLEX in the New Eden Store, or traded with other players with the use of ISK or other Goods;

The second group we have made is much more general than the first one, as it increases Items of various usages, but overall, heavily related to Crafting and Manufacturing of Items, Ships, etc. This includes:

1. Materials and Components - used primarily in the manufacturing process to create other Items. Remember, that in order to manufacture an item, you will need a corresponding blueprint. This group contains both Planetary and Raw Materials, Composites, Polymers, Minerals, and much much more;
2. Modules - Items that can be attached to a ship and improve its attributes, add extra functionality (for example additional weaponry) or improve attributes of other modules attached to the ship. Modules are essential for every Ship in EVE Online to be of any use. Ships without Modules can only fly around and carry some goods in its' cargo hold;
3. Ancient Relics - which are used to invent Tech III ships and their subsystems. There are several Relic types, on depending on it, you will receive a different subsystem type blueprint;

ISK is the primary Currency in EVE Online, though we will not get into details here since it has its own category on our website. The other one is PLEX, which has a fixed price, set up by EVE's developers, however, with an open market, the price is usually lower when PLEX is bought from other players. The last type of Items we have included here are Blueprints. Blueprints are basically instructions on how to manufacture specific items, ships, or their subsystems. There are several types of Blueprints including ship blueprints, module blueprints, ammunition blueprints, subsystem blueprints, and more. Original  Blueprints can be purchased from NPCs on the market section, and they can be used to create Blueprint Copies. These copies cannot be traded on the market, but you can sell them via contracts. Blueprint Copies (BPC) can be created from the original version, bought with Loyal Points, or dropped by NPCs.
