DIABLO 4 WEAPONS

Diablo 4 features a wide variety of Weapons that cater to different playstyles and character classes. Some can wield more than 1 set of weapons, such as Rogues and Barbarians, whereas others are limited just to a single piece of gear. This allows said Classes to acquire more offensive Modifiers and Legendary Aspects, as they benefit from all-equipped pieces, even if their main attack is limited just to one particular weapon. It is also worth noting that 2-handed Weapons have a 100% increased effect of Legendary Imprint on them, which in some cases is much more valuable than having 2 of the regular Aspects. All Weapons have a particular Implicit modifier bound to the weapon type. Here are some of the weapon types you can find in the game: 

  1. Swords: Swords are versatile melee weapons with moderate attack speed and damage. They are often the default weapon choice for melee-focused characters.

  2. Axes: Axes are similar to swords but typically have higher damage at the expense of attack speed. They are suitable for characters who prefer heavy-hitting attacks.

  3. Maces: Maces are blunt weapons that excel at crushing enemies' defenses. They are known for their high damage and ability to stagger or stun opponents.

  4. Polearms: Polearms are long weapons with extended reach, allowing players to strike enemies from a distance. They often have a slower attack speed but can deal substantial damage.

  5. Bows: Bows are ranged weapons that allow characters to attack enemies from a distance. They typically have moderate attack speed and are favored by characters specializing in dexterity and precision.

  6. Crossbows: Crossbows are similar to bows but usually have higher damage per shot and a slower attack speed. They are suitable for characters who prefer powerful ranged attacks.

  7. Staves: Staves are magical weapons commonly used by spellcasters. They enhance a character's spellcasting abilities and may provide additional benefits such as increased mana or spell damage.

  8. Wands: Wands are one-handed magical weapons that excel at casting offensive spells. They often have bonuses to spell damage, mana regeneration, or specific magical attributes.

  9. Daggers: Daggers are lightweight, fast weapons that allow for quick and agile attacks. They are often associated with characters focused on speed, critical strikes, or stealth.

  10. Scythe: Spears are long weapons that offer a mix of melee and ranged capabilities. They are versatile weapons that can be used only by the Necromancer class.

  11. Shield: shields play a significant role in providing defensive capabilities to characters. Shields typically provide additional armor, block chance, and other defensive bonuses to help mitigate incoming damage. They are predominantly used by classes that prioritize defense.

  12. Focus: These off-hand items enhance spellcasting abilities, provide bonuses to spell damage, increased mana regeneration, or offer unique effects tailored to the magic archetype.

 

Other than that, you should also account for some key aspects that are commonly found in weapons across the Diablo series. These aspects contribute to the overall effectiveness and customization of weapons in the game:

  1. Damage: Weapons in Diablo 4 typically have a damage range that determines the amount of damage they inflict. Higher damage values indicate more potent attacks.

  2. Attack Speed: Attack speed determines how quickly a character can strike with a weapon. Faster attack speeds allow for more frequent attacks, while slower attack speeds often result in more powerful strikes.

  3. Affixes and Attributes: Weapons may possess affixes or attributes that provide additional bonuses. These can include increased critical hit chance, bonus elemental damage, or specific enhancements tied to class abilities.

  4. Rarity and Quality: Weapons in Diablo 4 can come in various rarities, such as common, magic, rare, and legendary. Higher-rarity weapons generally possess more powerful affixes and attributes.

  5. Unique Effects: Unique Weapons always have unique effects or abilities that set them apart from regular weapons. These effects can significantly impact gameplay, granting powerful bonuses, altering attacks, or introducing new mechanics.

  6. Trading and Economy: a good Weapon is a most powerful upgrade regarding your total Damage output. To make sure you are always at the best of your potential, you should never stop trying to acquire a new Weapon. A well-rolled Rare Item can vastly outperform a random Legendary one, so try to check them out before you salvage them for materials. Remember, you can also trade Rare Items with other players on marketplaces such as Odealo for millions of Gold or real money.

A very good Sword for Barbarians that have their Fury Generation sorted out, and can sacrifice some of that to gain even more Damage.

It is an iconic Sword, many can remember its name from the Diablo 2 series. It is an insanely rare Sword that provides very good defensive and offensive value.

As you can see, there is a ton of Affixes you can find on your Weapon. It can be very hard to determine which ones are the best for your Build, so here we list some of the key aspects you should look for.

  • Base Weapon Damage - all your Skills deal %Damage, which is based on your Weapon's DPS. It is the most important stat of all active weapons.
  • Vulnerable Damage - all Builds should have a way to inflict the Vulnerability status on your enemies, as it is a very powerful Damage Multiplier. To make it even stronger, you should boost it with this bonus. 
  • Critical Strike Damage/Chance - another very generic and powerful way to improve your Damage. Most Skills can be greatly improved by scaling Critical Strikes, but there are some exceptions, as usually, DoT Skills can't land a Critical Strike.
  • Resource Generation and Cooldown Reduction - using Skills more often directly improves your DPS
  • Attack Speed - it also increases your DPS, either by quicker animations, or faster Resource generation. Again, it might not work in some cases, such as DoT Skills. 
  • Main Attribute - it is often a great way to improve your Damage. Some Classes have much better Attribute scaling, for example, Barbarians gain Damage and Armor from Strength. 
  • All other Damage increases - there are many modifiers that increase your Damage in a certain condition, but they all are additive, so it doesn't matter which one you have as long as you can fulfill the condition.
