Thanks to very favorable economic laws, low taxes, and a strategic location, many powerful corporations set up their operations in the city to grab a portion of the Tarkov Money. As it soon turned out, one of the most powerful players that settled in the city, the Terra Group, took advantage of the region's preferential conditions and engaged in dubious practices meant to undermine the Russian Government's position.
