"Tesladin" Dream Paladin Zealot Build for Diablo 2 Resurrected

"Tesladin" Dream Paladin Zealot Build for Diablo 2 Resurrected

Top-Tier PvM build for Diablo 2 Resurrected which is insane for casual farming, hunting Ubers, and pretty much anything else

"The Tesladin"
Dream Zealot Paladin Build

For Diablo 2 Resurrected

Build Overview

Tesladin, as the double Dream Paladin is often called, is arguably the best PvM build in the entire Diablo 2. This build is quite expensive, as you need a bunch of end-game Runewords to have it running (including Last Wish which is one of the most expensive ones in the game), but it simply allows you to effortlessly farm all the content in the game. You can deal with all immunities thanks to dealing extremely high damage from several sources, and as a Paladin, as always you are going to be playing a very tanky character. A level 30 Holy Shock Aura from two Dream Runewords will quickly deal with all minor enemies around you, which can be further increased by Gear with bonuses to All Skills. Any Lightning Immune enemy or Bosses can be deal with quickly by using Zeal or Smite (the latter has much better single-target damage if you are aiming at Ubers for example). All around, this is one of the most powerful builds in the game, but because of the prices of required items, not recommended as your first character.

Below you will find the recommended Attribute Allocation, Items, Skills, including our commentary and detailed explanation of existing synergies and playstyle.

You can also check our other  Diablo 2 Resurrected Builds

 Pros  Cons
Great for fighting Ubers with rock-solid defenses and tons of DPS   Expensive
Very High Survivability   Not viable as a starter/early ladder build
Very high DPS from various sources allows you to nearly entirely ignore the existence of Immunities of enemies
A lot of possible build variations, as you can choose to deal higher Physical Damage or max the Holy Shock Aura DPS or even use additional Auras for higher team utility and added effects/damage to your melee attacks

Skills

ATTRIBUTES
  1. Strength - All you want, in terms of Strength, is enough of it to equip everything you will want to use on your character. With all the gear equipped, you should have slightly above 100 Strength, depending on the base of your Body Armour and its requirement
  2. Dexterity - you are aiming at getting a max block chance. Just equip all your gear, cast Holy Shield, and dump any needed Dexterity to have it capped at 75%
  3. Vitality - You should put all your remaining points here - that's your main attribute
  4. Energy - do not spend any points here
COMBAT SKILLS

In this Tree, you will find the Melee attacks that you will mainly use against Bosses and Lightning Immune enemies. There is a lot of flexibility in what skills you want to use here, but it's mostly recommended to max Zeal and Sacrifice as its' synergy, and possibly get extra points in Smite for higher Boss/Uber DPS

Skills:

  1. Smite [X/20] - this is the primary Boss-killing skill in Paladin's arsenal. It is guaranteed to hit your target, and unlike Zeal, it will not target the ads that are usually around Ubers so it will simply melt them quicker. You can put all excess points here or just dump them into Holy Shield if you don't plan to do Ubers and such
  2. Charge [1/20] - a prerequisite, but also a decent mobility skill that will allow you to progress faster through areas
  3. Holy Bolt [1/20] - a prerequisite only
  4. Blessed Hammer [1/20] - a prerequisite only
  5. Holy Shield [X/20] - a must-have ability that boosts your Block Chance and defense rating. In most cases, one should be enough, but if you want some extra defenses, you can spend any excess points here
  6. Sacrifice [20/20] - Zeal's synergy skill, which oddly enough, grants a higher damage multiplier to Zeal than when upgrading Zeal itself. In most cases, you should max it before Zeal for that reason
  7. Zeal [X/20} - by default, you should aim to max out Zeal to maximize its' damage, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to put some extra points into Smite instead. Zeal should do fine combined with your Holy Shock Aura against most enemies even on lower levels, and you can reduce the length of your Boss fights by boosting Smite's damage

OFFENSIVE AURAS

This skill Tree gives us a solid passive Damage boost and makes the build much more reliable offensively. You are going to use Conviction Aura to boost the damage of your Holy Shock Aura in most situations, and switch to Fanaticism for extra damage against Bosses (assuming your Merc is dead and she no longer provides it)

Skills:

  1. Might [1/20] - Prerequisite. Increases damage dealt by party members
  2. Blessed Aim [1/20] - Prerequisite. An Aura that increases your Attack Rating
  3. Concentration [1/20] - Prerequisite. Reduces the chance that your attacks will be interrupted and increases your Damage
  4. Fanaticism [1/20] - the main Aura you are going to use to boost the damage of your Zeal and Smite attacks. You will be mainly switching to it from Conviction against Ubers, and just 1 point here should suffice
  5. Holy Fire [1/20] - prerequisite only
  6. Thorns [1/20] - prerequisite only
  7. Holy Freeze [1/20] - prerequisite only
  8. Sanctuary [1/20] - prerequisite only
  9. Conviction [X/20] - the number of points you spend here depends on your actual equipment and the amount of bonus to Skills/Offensive Auras you have in total. You should aim to get it to the total level of 25 which reduces enemy Resistst by 150% which is the highest it can get. Just boost yourself with Warcries, equip all the gear, and allocate enough points to get Conviction to 25
DEFENSIVE AURAS

This Skill Tree contains Holy Shock Aura which is one of the core skills used in this build, but it's not going to be allocated through here, but instead granted by Dream Runeword. On the other hand, you will find two of its synergy skills here, and both should be maxed out to boost your Lightning damage significantly

Skills:

  1. Resist Lightning [20/20] - Holy Shock Aura synergy which boosts your Lightning DPS significantly
  2. Salvation [20/20] - same as above, another must-have 20 points here if you are looking to maximize the damage you deal with Holy Shock Aura

Items

You mainly want to boost the level of all your Skills wherever possible, it's the best way to scale your Lightning Damage from Holy Shock Aura. If possible, you can also get some Lightning Facet Jewels, but after increases to Skills, you will mainly focus on boosting your Smite/Zeal DPS through Attack Speed, Crushing Blow, Deadly Strike Chance, and so on. Since it's a melee build, you should also get both types of leech and extra FHR - though most of it will most likely from using two Dream Runeword items in your build

HELMETS

Dream (Runeword) - this Helmet is what defines this build. You need to use both Helmet and the Shield with it to get a level 30 Holy Shock Aura with its insane Lightning damage dealt to all enemies around you. Dream also offers all kinds of valuable defensive bonuses which makes it one of the tankiest characters in the game

Dream

WEAPONS

Last Wish (Runeword) - the best possible weapon for this build. When it comes to killing Ubers, you will see a big difference when using Last Wish compared to the other (also powerful) Weapons listed below, so this is the number 1 pick

Last Wish

  • Damage:  Depends on base Weapon

    • +10-15 Life After Each Kill

Crescent Moon (Runeword) - a budget alternative that will boost your Holy Shock Aura DPS significantly, but will offer much lower Physical DPS with Zeal/Smite, making Uber farming nearly impossible. It's still a great option if you aren't here for the Boss slaying capabilities of this build

Crescent Moon

  • Damage:  Depends on base Weapon

    • +9-11 Magic Absorb
    • +2 To Mana After Each Kill
    • Level 18 Summon Spirit Wolf (30 Charges)
SHIELDS

Dream (Runeword) - as mentioned previously, using two Dream Runeword items is a must in this build in order to get Holy Shock Aura with a base level of 30. This Runeword here offers the exact same bonuses as on your Helmet, offering some insane defensive utility. You should make it in a Paladin Shield with extra Resistances

Dream Shield

  • 10% Chance To Cast Level 15 Confuse When Struck

AMULETS

Rare Crafted Amulet with + Paladin Skills and additional bonuses is always a good option. Because of how many different skills are used from all three Skills Trees, using +3 Magic ones is not recommended

Amulet

  • Required Level: varies.
  • In Rare Amulets, look for:
    • +2 to Paladin Skills
    • Life
    • Resistances
    • Attributes
    • Life/Mana Leech
    • FCR (optionally - if using Teleport)

Mara's Kaleidoscope - one of the best Amulets in the game. It adds all the important stats and +2 to All Skills

    • +2 To All Skills
    • All Resistances +20-30 (varies)
    • +5 To All Attributes

Highlord's Wrath - a great Amulet that will boost your melee damage significantly. You should be looking to replace it with a +2 to Skills Amulet at some point, but this one will work just fine for the most part thanks to the high IAS bonus and a high chance of Deadly Strike

Highlord's Wrath

  • Required Level: 65
    • +1 To All Skills
    • +20% Increased Attack Speed
+ (0.375 Per Character Level) 0-37 % Deadly Strike (Based

    • Lightning Resist +35%
    • Adds 1-30 Lightning Damage
    • Attacker Takes Lightning Damage Of 15

ARMORS

Chains of Honor (Runeword) - the best Body Armor for this build which grants a bonus to all Skills and tons of defensive utility. It also grants a massive DPS bonus against Demons, and most Bosses in Diablo 2 Resurrected are Demons. However, if you are grinding the whole day long, you may be missing Enigma's Teleport and its' mobility bonuses

Chains of Honor

  • Defense: Depends on base Armor
  • Required Level: 63
  • Required Strength: Depends on base Armor
  • Durability: Depends on base Armor

    • All Resistances +65
    • Damage Reduced By 8%
    • 25% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items

Enigma (Runeword) - one of the best Armors in the game which grants the Teleport Spell and boosts your mobility significantly. It also adds +2 to All Skills and a very high increase to your Run/Walk speed. If you are using Enigma, make sure to get some gear with FCR to boost the speed of your Teleport (CTA + Spirit offhand is always a good option)

Enigma

  • Defense: Depends on base Armor

  • Required Strength: Depends on base Armor
  • Durability: Depends on base Armor
  • Jah + Ith + Ber

    • +45% Faster Run/Walk
    • +1 To Teleport

    • +14 Life After Each Kill
    • 15% Damage Taken Goes To Mana
    • (1*Clvl)% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items (Based On Character Level)

RINGS

Raven Frost - freeze immunity is a very important affix that's provided by just a few items in the game. The extra Attributes, Attack Rating, and Cold Damage also come in handy and boost your melee DPS

Raven Frost

  • Required Level: 45
    • +150-250 Attack Rating (varies)
    • 15-45 Cold Damage
    • +15-20 Dexterity (varies)
    • +40 Mana
    • Cold Absorb 20%
    • Cannot be Frozen

Rare Ring - if you don't have it elsewhere make sure to get a double Leech Ring with extra Life/Resistances/Attributes or possibly FCR for Teleporting faster

The Stone of Jordan

  • Required Level: varies.
  • In Rare Rings, look for:
    • Life/Mana Stolen on Hit
    • Life
    • Resistances
    • Attributes
    • FCR (optionally - if using Teleport)

Bul-Kathos Wedding Band - the +1 to All Skills make it one of the best options. The extra Life and Life Steal is also great to have. Can be replaced with Stone of Jordan for its Skill bonus, but the other stats it offers are less relevant for a Tesladin

Bul-Kathos Wedding Band

  • Required Level: 58
    • +1 To All Skills
    • + (0.5 Per Character Level) 0-49 To Life)
    • 3-5% Life Stolen Per Hit (varies)
    • +50 Maximum Stamina

GLOVES

[BIS] Laying of Hands (Bramble Mitts) - when it comes to farming Bosses, you will find no better Gloves than this. The 20% IAS and 350% (!!) bonus Damage to Demons is simply irreplaceable. And this pair shouldn't be that expensive either

Goblin Toe

  • Defense: 120-139
  • Required Level: 42
  • Required Strength: 95
  • Durability: 48
  • Assassin Kick Damage: 37-64

    • Attacker Takes Damage Of 5-10
    • 30-50% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items

Waterwalk (Sharkskin Boots) - presumably the best in the slot with simply massive defensive utility and bonuses. If you are mainly oriented on the end-game content, this is most likely the pair you should be wearing at all times

Waterwalk

  • Defense: 112-124
  • Required Level: 32
  • Required Strength: 47
  • Durability: 14
  • Assassin Kick Damage: 28-50

    • Heal Stamina Plus 50%
    • +40 Max Stamina
    • +45-65 To Life

BELTS

Thundergod's Vigor (War Belt) - An interesting defensive choice that gives you +20 Lightning Absorb, some Strength, and Vitality. If you feel like you're too squishy, consider using this one instead of the Arachnid Mesh

Thundergod's Vigor

  • Defense: 137-159
  • Potion Slots: 16
  • Required Level: 47
  • Required Strength: 110
  • Durability: 24
    • +160-200% Enhanced Defense (varies)
    • Adds 1-50 Lightning Damage
    • 5% Chance to Cast Level 7 Fist of the Heavens When Struck
    • +20 Lightning Absorb
    • +10% to Maximum Lightning Resist
    • +20 to Strength
    • +20 to Vitality
    • +3 to Lightning Fury (Amazon Only)
    • +3 to Lightning Strike (Amazon Only)

[BIS] Arachnid Mesh (Spiderweb Sash) - this amazing Belt grants bonus to All Skills which is very unique in this slot. It also slows down enemies, boosting your defenses, and grants 20% FCR which can greatly increase your mobility with Teleport

Arachnid Mesh

  • Defense: 119-138
  • Potion Slots: 16
  • Required Level: 80
  • Required Strength: 50
  • Durability: 12

    • +1 To All Skills
    • 20% Faster Cast Rate
    • Maximum Mana 5%
    • Level 3 Venom (11 Charges)

CHARMS

  1. Grand Charms -  you can get Grand Charms with any of the Paladin Skills, as any of the three should give you similar results, You can also get extra Life on those if needed
  2. Small Charms - you should have all your Resistances capped without small charms, so you can just get some extra Life/MF/FHR bonuses, and possibly some extra Poison Damage to prevent Ubers from healing that quickly
  3. As for Unique Charms, we recommend getting all three most popular ones: Hellfire TorchAnnihilus, and Gheed's Fortune (preferably with 40% MF), which is a standard setup for all Diablo 2 Resurrected builds

MERCENARY

We recommend hiring Act 1 Mercenary with the Cold Arrow for some extra slow. The Merc will deal nearly 0 damage when compared to your character, so it's not why she's around. You want to equip her with Faith Runeword and boost her defenses so that you can benefit from her's Fanaticism Aura nearly at all times

  1. Faith Runeword in Hydra/Crusader/Shadow Bow - mainly for the Fanaticism Aura it provides. You can't equip your Merc with Amazon-restricted weapons, and it's just best to use it in one of the Bows listed, as they should be relatively easy to resell if needed
  2. Shaftstop Armor - basically for the 30% Damage Reduction, that will help your Merc stay alive longer
  3. Vampire's Gaze - the extra Leech and Damage Reduction makes it the best possible Helmet for this A1 Merc setup
