There are many benefits to being a Servant of Arakaali. It's a Shadow ascendancy available only during the Legacy of Phrecia event. In this build, we will make use of passives that emphasize a Poison Minion archetype. Skincrawlers grants 50% Poison Chance and 10% to apply Withered on Hit for Minions, which is a very welcome improvement that saves us a lot of trouble. Malevolent Strands grants the Envy Aura, which adds tons of Chaos Damage to Attacks; to inflict Poison one must first deal Physical or Chaos Damage with Hits. Threadspinner and Silk Dancer are a source of a free Aspect of the Spider Skill. It significantly weakens nearby enemies so that they move slower, deal less, and take increased damage.
The Minions that'll deal the actual damage are Raging Spirits. You can quickly summon a lot of them to overwhelm the enemy. The only problem is, all their Physical Damage is Converted to Fire. That's why they're entirely reliant on the outside sources of added Chaos (or Physical) Damage. In our case, that's Envy, The Covenant, and AG's Crown of the Tyrant (white socket model). Because of that, the Gem Level of SRS is not really that important, which is an unusual characteristic for a minion build. As is the case with most builds of this type, you will employ Animated Guardian and various Spectres to enhance your performance.
The durability of the build stems from high Maximum Life and Block Chance against Spells and Attacks. Your Armour and Spell Suppression Chance can be improved later; after you can afford more defence-oriented items. With Eldritch Battery and Mind over Matter, your ES will absorb some of the incoming damage, and you will recover it with Aegis Aurora on Block. Life Recovery is rather poor, so be sure to invest in passive Life Regeneration to stay alive, or have Life Flask ready to use. Additional survivability comes from Silk Dancer, 10 Fortify, and Jinxed Juju.

Keep summoning Raging Spirits. Wait for Unleash to charge the additional casts. In the meantime, you're free to cast your other active Skills such as Convocation and Despair. Applying Temporal Chains should be the job of your Animated Guardian. Your other Minions that have to be kept alive are Specters and Chaos Golem. The spells you cast automatically are Desecrate and Flesh Offering. Your passive skills are Malevolence, Precision, Tempest Shield, Purity of Elements, Envy, and Aspect of the Spider. Maybe Vitality.

PROS |
|
CONS |
|
The build is nearly identical to this Poison Summon Raging Spirits Necromancer Build. The only difference is your starting location on the passive skill tree and better-suited ascendancy passives. Follow the leveling guide that's there.
Bandits:
Two Additional Passive Skill Points seem like the best option for this build
Final Skill Tree:
107 Points Final Skill Tree (doesn't include Cluster or Unique Jewels)
123 Points Path of Building (PoB) link
Ascendancy points:
Preferably in that order:
Pantheon:
Major God: Soul of Lunaris: 1% increased Movement Speed for each nearby Enemy, up to 8%; 1% additional Physical Damage Reduction for each nearby Enemy, up to 8%
Minor God: Soul of Gruthkul: 1% additional Physical Damage Reduction for each Hit you've taken Recently up to a maximum of 5%

![]() |
Summon Raging Spirit - Spawns plenty of Skulls. They will Poison, which requires Physical or Chaos Damage, sourced from items and skills. |
![]() |
Unleash Support - Stores the spirit for later so that you don't have to release them one by one and rely on Cast Speed. |
![]() |
Minion Damage Support - More Minion Damage, but less Minion Life. |
![]() |
Unbound Ailments Support - More Poison Duration and Poison Damage. |
![]() |
Void Manipulation Support - More Chaos Damage. |

[UTILITY] Spectre setup
![]() |
Raise Spectre - Their role is to hit often (they have a 10% chance of applying Withered on Hit), or to provide some kind of bonuses for your other Minions. Try Spectral Leader, Syndicate Silencer, Pale Seraphim, Gilded Arach, Carnage Chieftain, or Stygian Silverback. |
![]() |
Minion Life Support - More Minion Life to keep them alive. It lowers their damage but they are not supposed to deal any significant amount of it. |
![]() |
Empower Support - Increases the Gem Level for increased Minion Life. |
![]() |
Meat Shield Support - Minions take less damage and stay close to your character. |
[UTILITY] AG setup can be Socketed in Hungry Loop |
|
![]() |
Animate Guardian - AG can provide you with powerful buffs, depending on its item. See our AG gearing guide and dress him up as you see fit. We expect him to wear Asenath's Gentle Touch Gloves and Windscream Boots so that he applies Temporal Chains on Hit. |
![]() |
Feeding Frenzy Support - Feeding Frenzy grants 10% more Minion Damage, 10% increased Minion Movement Speed and 10% increased Minion Attack, and Cast Speed. It applies to all your other Minions once the AG Hits something. |
![]() |

Melee Splash Support - Melee Splash causes your AG to Hit more enemies per Attack. |
[UTILITY] Wand setup socketed in a "trigger" Wand |
|
![]() |
Desecrate - Creates Corpses to be consumed with Flesh Offering. Useful if there are no corpses; against bosses in their arenas. |
![]() |
Flesh Offering - Minions have increased Attack Speed, Cast Speed, and Movement Speed. |
[UTILITY] Reservation setup
![]() |
Tempest Shield - More Spell Block Chance, Shock Immunity, and a Shocking bolt of lightning on Block. |
![]() |
Vitality - Life Regeneration, which is rather desirable in a build like this. It's optional. |
![]() |
Purity of Elements - Immunity to all Elemental Ailments and extra Elemental Resistances. |
![]() |
Enlighten Support |
[UTILITY] Chaos Golem setup
![]() |
Summon Chaos Golem of the Maelström - This type of Golem has a high chance of applying Withered debuff on Hit with its Storm Spell. |
![]() |
Summon Phantasm Support - Summon Phantasms on Hit against Unique enemies. Like all your other Minions, they have a 10% Chance of applying Withered on hit - that's their only purpose. You can have up to 10 of them. |
![]() |
Minion Life Support |
[UTILITY] Convocation setup
![]() |
Convocation - Recalls all your Minions back to you in case they wander away. |
[UTILITY] other gems | |
![]() |
Despair - Despair causes the enemy to take increased Chaos Damage. Your Curse Limit is 1, but after you apply it, your AG (with the Curse Limit of 2), will hit the enemy with Temporal Chains. |
![]() |
Temporal Chains - Temporal Chains Curse is not needed here if your AG applies it on Hit. Otherwise, you have to cast it yourself and have a +1 Curse Limit from Whispers of Doom. |
|
It's a Life build that uses Energy Shield as a resource thanks to the Eldritch Battery, and a cushion for damage thanks to Mind over Matter. It's regained via Aegis Aurora and you won't need to look for it on items; you will have more than enough. That shield requires you to cap, or at least have a very high, Block Chance. Armour is important for it to work too - aim for over 5000 Armour. The Covenant is a source of added Chaos Damage, and so is The Jinxed Juju, be it more indirectly. You have to reach a 100% Chance to Poison for your Minions (50% is provided by Skincrawlers passive). That can be done with Rare Ghastly Abyss Jewels. It's a very good idea to combine them with Darkness Enthroned. Raging Spirits use Attacks, so their Accuracy and Attack Speed Matters. Be sure your Maximum Life is high and that you have enough Attributes. Gem Level is a fundamental stat to improve your Minions' Max Life, and if you find your Spectres or AG dying, invest more in Minion Life and especially their Resistances. Cap your Spell Suppression Chance.
