Build Overview
Poison Javazon is a very powerful early-to-mid-game Build that has close to no competition up to level ~50, however, it falls a bit out of favor in the late game. This happens for two reasons; 1 - Poison and Plague Javelins are very powerful and scale very well with additional Skill Points, which makes them perfect for leveling, but they deal mostly Poison Damage and thus have problems with enemies immune to it. 2 - They only synergize with each other, and thus builds that use them don't transition too well into the end-game, as they simply lack synergies (in the eyes of the community, at least).
The featured build fixes Poison Javazon's late-game problems by mixing it up with Valkyrie. As a result, it has a powerful personal tank that soaks up most of the incoming damage and gives Plague Jav's poison enough time to melt down the opposition. Our version of Poison Javazon is still a great starter build; we've just added a late-game component to it, for those of you who like the playstyle and want to play it beyond level ~50 or so.

Pros | Cons |
Great Starter Build | Relies mostly on one type of damage - Poison, so enemies resistant to it can cause problems |
Relatively High Damage Output, even without high-end gear | Amazon's Poison Skills lack synergies which makes them scale into the late game a bit worse than other similar skills |
Can easily be run on a tight budget | You will need a lot of +Skills to see this build's full end-game potential |
Skills
ATTRIBUTES |
JAVELIN AND SPEAR SKILLS |
This is the core Skill Tree of this Build. It provides you with your main offensive ability - Plague Javelin that deals solid initial damage and finishes off enemies with an extremely powerful poison effect. Skills:
PASSIVE AND MAGIC SKILLS |
This skill tree offers great utility skills - both passive and active ones. For this build, we take full advantage of it as we have a lot of spare points (you only need 42 points for the recommended Javelin and Spear Skills). Skills:
BOW AND CROSSBOW SKILLS |
This build focuses on Javelins, so we skip this entire skill tree. Skills:

Items
For this Poison Javazon Build, you want to get as many Skill levels (Amazon/Javelin and Spear Skills) as possible to increase the build's overall power level. Increased Attack Speed is not that important as Plague Javelin has a cooldown, however, it will allow you to attack faster with your other Skills (just remember to check your breakpoints or you might over/underinvest in it). Resistances are also important, but they should never come before the offensive power. Defensive stats, like faster hit recovery and life leech/life on each kill, are a nice addition but they should come naturally - don't choose gear because it has these on it. | |
HELMETS |
[Starter] Lore (Runeword) - A very solid early game Runeword that will you a solid early power boost, thanks to +1 to All Skills. |
Harlequin Crest (Shako) - A great pick for this slot, especially if you want some extra Magic Find without sacrificing offensive power. You'll get +2 to All Skills, +50% Magic Find, and a lot of Attributes from it.
Crown of Ages (Corona) - A great defensive option that still grants a lot of offensive power. It will reduce your damage taken by up to 15% and increase all your Skill Levels by 1. Moreover, it can have up to 2 open sockets, which should be filled with 5/5 Poison Facets for the highest offensive boost possible. |
WEAPONS |
[Starter] Magic Javelins with +3 to Javelin and Spear Skills or Rare Javelins with +2 to Amazon Skills - These are not that hard to get and they offer a very solid early power boost. You can get Increased Attack Speed on these as well. If you're extremely lucky, you can even find a Javelin that gives +6 to Javelin and Spear Skills (but a Jav like that is worth more than most end-game items available in Diablo 2 Resurrected). |
Titan's Revenge (Ceremonial Javelin) - This amazing Unique Javelin will give you +4 Javelin and Spear Skills in total. Moreover, it will make you run 30% faster and boost your stats quite considerably (which is great for gear-stats optimization). Also, it replenishes itself, so it's less problematic to use than other Javelins. |
SHIELD | |
Spirit Shield (Runeword) - This can be quite hard to make early, as it requires a shield with 4 open sockets (so, you'll need a Monarch, basically). Spirit Shield gives you a lot of Resistances, +1 to All Skills, a lot of mana, vitality, and a high bonus to Faster Hit Recovery. |
Stormshield (Monarch) - With this mighty shield, you will be able to achieve maximum block quite easily. More often than not, it is more beneficial to boost your offense with a shield, however, a shield like this one should be enough to make an exception. |
WEAPON SWAP | |
Call to Arms (Rune Word) - This powerful Runeword will allow you to pre-buff yourself up with Warcries (buffs persist through weapon swap). |
AMULETS |
[Starter] Rare/Magic Amulet with + Amazon/Javelin and Spear Skills is a great early power booster. If you can afford it, or happen to find one, use it until you get something better.
Mara's Kaleidoscope - You need as many +Skills as possible for this build and this amulet gives +2. |
Highlord's Wrath - A great alternative to Mara's. Highlord's Wrath will give you 1 less Skill Level, but it will also boost your Attack Speed by 20%. |
ARMORS |
[Starter] Peace (Runeword) - Quite easy to make and quite hard to replace. This Class-Specific Runeword will give you +2 to Amazon Skills and an additional +2 to Critical Strike, which is amazing for a level 29 Armor. |
Bramble (Runeword) - This powerful Runeword offers an incredible damage increase to your Poison Skill Damage, which makes it a much-have for the build. You should try to get one with an increase of as close to 50% as possible. |
Enigma (Runeword) - This mighty Runeword provides everything you might want from an item, including +2 to All Skills, Teleport (!), +14 to Life after each kill, and a very nice boost to Magic Find. If you prefer extra mobility over extra damage, consider Enigma over Bramble (we'd go for Bramble, though). Also, remember that Teleport, while powerful, is not as strong as you might think in a build that does not utilize Faster Cast Rate (and this one does not). |
RINGS |
Raven Frost - One of the best rings you can have on any Diablo 2 Build. It provides Freeze Immunity which is extremely important to have on every build. |
Bul-Kathos Wedding Band - A great ring for this build. It grants a bonus to all skills, Life Steal, and maximum Life - all three are very valuable for this build. |
The Stone of Jordan - If you run out of mana too quickly, you should consider this one as it increases your max mana by a whopping 25%. Also, it gives +1 to all skills, so your offense won't suffer if you choose it. |
GLOVES |
Trang'Ouls Claws (Heavy Bracers) - From these, you will get a 25% boost to Poison Skill Damage. Very simple and very effective. |
Dracul's Grasp (Vampirebone Gloves) - A good all-around choice that increases your attack speed and gives you some extra survivability. These also give a high strength bonus which is very convenient for choosing equipment for other gear slots.
BOOTS |
War Traveler (Battle Boots) - A solid overall choice that boosts your mobility and income. From War Traveler, you'll get up to 50% Magic Find, unlimited running (thanks to slower stamina drain), and 25% Faster Run/Walk. |
Waterwalk (Sharkskin Boots) - Waterwalks are an interesting choice for the build; pick them if you feel like you need some extra survivability. They also provide a solid boost to Run/Walk Speed and Stamina, which is great. |
BELTS |
Razortail (Sharkskin Belt) - This amazing belt adds Piercing Attacks, which makes it great for this build - thanks to Razortail, you'll achieve 100% Pierce much easier (and thus save up some Skill Points) |
Arachnid Mesh (Spiderweb Sash) - A great offensive option that will maximize your damage output. Even though the rest of its bonuses are sub-par, it still is a top choice for our Poison Javazon. |

CHARMS |

MERCENARY |
We recommend picking up Act 2 Defiance Mercenary for extra damage mitigation bonuses. He should be equipped with:
