The new Oshabi Bloodline Ascendency greatly improves the Unleash playstyle. You can now store up to 7 Seals, and each of them will boost your Damage, eventually negating the downside of the Support Gem completely, but you still have to wait a few seconds for all Seals to recharge. To counter that problem, you will alternate between two similar active Skills and stack plenty of Cluster Jewels with the Seal Bender Notable, which increases the Seal gain frequency.
This Build also utilises the new Jiquani's Potential Staff as a source of Damage. It adds a massive amount of Lightning Damage to Spells for each 10 Intelligence you achieve, but also grants the Blood Magic Keystone, which disables your Mana. You can pair it with any Spell in the game, prioritising those with high Effectiveness of Added Damage, although you should also consider their individual effects or gimmicks. We have chosen Arc, which has quite low Effectiveness, but gains global bonuses to Damage for each remaining Chain. It also works very well with the Unleash playstyle thanks to the automatic targeting of enemies.
The Damage gained from this Staff is great, but you still need a way to scale it. The best way to do it are Critical Strikes. By adding a bit of Strength and choosing the Inquisitor Ascendancy, you will gain a lot of Critical Strike Chance, be able to Ignore Enemy Resistances, and gain plenty of Damage through the Iron Will Keystone. To use Auras, you will have to Reserve most of your maximum Life, but by doing so will also enable the Pain Attunement Keystone for an extra 30% More Damage bonus. It will also allow you to wear the new Foulborn Lori's Lantern Ring, which grants you Lucky Hits, which is very good for the Lightning Damage profile.
This type of Build has a very limited choice of defensive aspects. You will get tons of Intelligence, which greatly boosts your Energy Shield and Evasion Rating, but the Blood Magic prevents the use of the Chaos Innoculation Keystone. To defend against Chaos Damage, you will have to use the Coruscating Elixir with the Traitor Keystone to ensure 100% Flask uptime. Doing so also grants you a lot of Resistances, which allows you to get more Intelligence on your gear instead. You will also have a bit of Block, but unfortunately, Staffs are not great for this type of defence.

3. Leveling tips
The Jiquani's Potential requires a high level to wear it, but fortunately, levelling with Spellcaster Templar is very easy. You can opt for the Archmage to get bonus Damage from your Mana, which can be very effective during levelling, or simply use Critical Strikes and rely on the base Spells. For more tips, we recommend visiting our Templar Leveling Guide for PoE using Lightning Spells.

6. Gear Setup
You will need plenty of Unique Items, starting with the Jiquani's Potential Staff as its main cornerstone of the Build. Remaining Uniques are not fundamental for the functionality, but it is very hard to get better results from Rare Items. The very few pieces of Rare Equipment you will wear should provide a lot of Energy Shield, Intelligence, and cap your Resistances. The Intelligence ideally should be found on every piece, but capping Resistances takes higher priority.
Stat priorities on items:
(Weapon) Jiquani's Potential - the Build-enabling Unique of this Setup. It grants tons of Lightning Damage for your Spells, but also forces the Blood Magic Keystone. |
| +25% Chance to Block Spell Damage while wielding a Staff (1-7)% increased Intelligence (-17-17)% increased maximum Life +(-1-1) to Level of all Spell Skill Gems 31% increased Cost of Skills 1 to (31-53) Spell Lightning Damage per 10 Intelligence Blood Magic |
(Helmet) Rare Helmet - you will need the Trigger on Focus modifier here to automate your utility Skills. Other than that, simply focus on the usual modifiers. |
| Min. requirements: +300 to Energy Shield Trigger Socketed Spells when you Focus, with a 0.25 second Cooldown 40% total Elemental and Chaos Resistance Optional affixes: #% of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Elemental Damage (Eater Influence) #% increased Cast Speed (Exarch Influence) +# to Intelligence |
(Body Armour) Ghostwrithe - it is nearly impossible to get more Energy Shield from any other Armour piece. It also provides a large amount of Chaos Resistance, and you can get useful Corrupted Implicits for cheap. |
| +(100-200) to maximum Energy Shield +(50-100) to maximum Life +50% to Chaos Resistance 50% of Maximum Life Converted to Energy Shield |
(Belt) Cyclopean Coil - greatly improves your Intelligence, but also provides plenty of increases to your Damage and immunity against Shock and Ignite. |

(Gloves) Rare Gloves - you will gain a lot of Intelligence, Energy Shield, and Resistances here, but Eldritch Implicits are also very important. They can grant you a chance to Unnerve Enemies on Hit, or apply Exposure, which is useful to activate a barrier from a Graft. It can also grant you Leech if you don't have Cluster Jewels yet. |
| Min. requirements: +100 to Energy Shield 80% total Elemental and Chaos Resistance Optional affixes: Inflict Lightning Exposure on Hit, applying -#% to Lightning Resistance (Eater Influence) chance to Unnerve Enemies for 4 seconds on Hit (Exarch Influence) +# to Intelligence |
(Boots) Rare Boots - another defensive piece, but it can also improve your mobility with bonuses to Movement and Action Speed. A chance to Avoid Bleeding is also very useful to have. |
| Min. requirements: +100 to Energy Shield 80% total Elemental and Chaos Resistance +30% increased Movement Speed Optional affixes: #% increased Action Speed (Exarch Influence) #% chance to gain Onslaught for 4 seconds on Kill % chance to Avoid Bleeding +# to Intelligence |
(Amulet) Astramentis - a very simple yet effective Amulet, it grants you tons of each Attribute. Other options could potentially grant you more Intelligence, but getting enough Dexterity would be very hard. |
| +(10-16) to all Attributes +(80-100) to all Attributes -4 Physical Damage taken from Attack Hits |
(Ring) Foulborn Lori's Lantern - grants plenty of Resistances against Elemental and Chaos Damage, but most importantly, it makes your Hits Lucky, which is very important for Lightning archetypes. |
| +(8-10)% to all Elemental Resistances +10% to all Elemental Resistances (6-8)% increased Movement Speed when on Low Life 31% increased Light Radius +(20-25)% to Chaos Resistance when on Low Life Your Damage with Hits is Lucky while on Low Life |

| Min. requirements: +50 to Intelligence +15 to all Attributes 40% total Elemental and Chaos Resistance Optional affixes: #% to Global Critical Strike Multiplier 50% increased Suffix Modifier magnitudes +1 to Minimum Frenzy Charges |
(Jewel) Rare Jewels - most of your Critical Strike Multiplier is sourced from your Jewels, but they should also increase your ES. Alternatively, you can use Corrupted Implicit to improve your Life Reservation Efficiency and use additional Aura. |
| Min. requirements: 7% increased maximum Energy Shield Optional affixes: #% to Critical Strike Multiplier with Elemental Skills #% to Critical Strike Multiplier with Lightning Skills #% to Critical Strike Multiplier with Spell Skills #% to global Critical Strike Multiplier 2% increased Reservation Efficiency of Skills (Corrupted Implicit) Corrupted Blood cannot be inflicted on you +# to Intelligence |
(Jewel) Large Cluster Jewels - the Seal Mender is the only source of Seal gain frequency; you will want to include as many of them as possible. You should pair it with any other useful Notables, ideally ones that grant you Leech. Alternatively, you can opt for Jewels with increased Effect of Small Passives that provide extra Intelligence. |
| Min. requirements: 1 Added Passive Skill is Seal Mender Optional affixes: 1 Added Passive Skill is Practiced Caster 1 Added Passive Skill is Essence Rush Added Small Passive Skills also grant: +8 to Intelligence Added Small Passive Skills have 35% increased Effect |
(Jewel) Megalomaniac - to get more Seal Mender Notables, you can hunt for the good Megalomaniac Jewels. There are many useful Notables to include for both Damage and survivability. |
| Min. requirements: 1 Added Passive Skill is Seal Mender |
(Jewel) Brutal Restraint - you will need the Traitor Keystone to sustain your Flasks at all times, allowing you to Reserve Life safely. It can also add other useful bonuses to nearby Passives, such as Onslaught on Kill or better Flask uptime. |

(Jewel) Watcher's Eye - you can get the Arcane Surge Buff with the Blood Magic Keystone only by using a Watcher's Eye with the special Zealotry modifier. It can also make your Consecrated Ground linger for a few seconds, so you won't need the Pius Path Ascendency to make it comfortable. |
| Recommended modifiers: Effects of Consecrated Ground you create while affected by Zealotry Linger for 2 seconds Consecrated Ground you create while affected by Zealotry causes enemies to take (8-10)% increased Damage Gain Arcane Surge for 4 seconds when you create Consecrated Ground while affected by Zealotry |
