Master the Echoing Strike Warlock, a unique hybrid build that unleashes devastating Hex Purge explosions with incredible clear speed.Echoing Strike Warlock Build
Last Update: July 9, 2026 [S14]
Introduction
Echoing Strike Warlock is a unique hybrid caster that combines rapid weapon attacks with devastating bursts of Magic Damage, creating one of the most explosive playstyles in Diablo II Resurrected. Rather than relying on raw physical damage alone, the build revolves around Echoing Strike to repeatedly trigger Hex Purge, causing powerful magical eruptions that tear through tightly packed enemies. This interaction gives the build exceptional AoE damage while preserving the fluid, fast-paced combat that made Echoing Strike so popular. With Mirrored Blades providing excellent single-target pressure and Blade Warp allowing instant repositioning, the build feels both aggressive and surprisingly mobile, rewarding players who enjoy constantly moving between packs while unleashing waves of magical destruction.
As your character progresses, Echoing Strike Warlock scales exceptionally well with +Skills, Magic Skill Damage, Faster Cast Rate, and Enemy Magic Resistance Reduction, dramatically increasing the damage of Hex Purge while improving the consistency of your Echoing Strike attacks. Unlike the original physical version, this setup focuses on converting repeated weapon hits into devastating magical explosions, making it far less dependent on high-end weapons and more effective against a wider variety of enemies. Mastering the build comes from maintaining the rhythm between Echoing Strike, Hex Purge, and Mirrored Blades, while using Blade Warp to stay mobile and constantly reposition for optimal projectile coverage. Thanks to its excellent screen-wide clearing, smooth progression, and unique blend of weapon combat and spellcasting, the Hex Purge Echoing Strike Warlock has established itself as one of the strongest and most enjoyable Warlock archetypes in Season 14.

Skill Trees

The recommended leveling path for the Echoing Strike Warlock follows the same core playstyle you'll use in the final build, making progression both smooth and intuitive. As soon as Echoing Strike becomes available, it serves as your primary clearing skill, allowing you to carve through packs with fast, ranged weapon attacks while benefiting from its excellent area coverage. As you continue investing Skill Points, Mirrored Blades provides a substantial boost to single-target damage, helping you dispatch tougher enemies and bosses without slowing down your progression. Once Hex Purge becomes available and begins receiving additional Skill Levels, the build transitions into its signature endgame playstyle, where repeated Echoing Strike casts trigger devastating bursts of Magic Damage that quickly overwhelm entire groups of monsters.
Blade Warp acts as both your primary mobility skill and an important part of the build's overall synergy, allowing you to reposition instantly while maintaining an aggressive clearing pace. As your gear improves, additional +Skills, Faster Cast Rate, and Magic Skill Damage significantly increase the frequency and power of Hex Purge, turning every encounter into a chain of explosive magical bursts. After acquiring Enigma, Teleport replaces Blade Warp as your main movement skill, dramatically improving farming efficiency and transforming Echoing Strike Warlock into one of the fastest and most enjoyable endgame farmers in Season 14.
Gear
Void is the strongest weapon for the Hex Purge version of Echoing Strike Warlock, offering everything the build wants in a single item. The combination of +Skills, Faster Cast Rate, and Magic Skill Damage dramatically increases the damage of Hex Purge, while the additional utility stats make gearing considerably easier. For players who value consistency over maximum damage, Heart of the Oak remains an excellent alternative thanks to its +3 All Skills, 40% Faster Cast Rate, massive Resistances, and Mana sustain. It provides a smoother progression experience while still delivering exceptional endgame performance.
The off-hand slot is best occupied by Ars Dul'Mephistos, whose +2 Warlock Skills, Faster Cast Rate, and substantial Enemy Magic Resistance Reduction make it one of the largest damage upgrades available for the build. Reducing Magic Resistance directly amplifies every Hex Purge explosion, making this item exceptionally valuable throughout the endgame. During progression, Spirit remains the most reliable shield thanks to its excellent balance of Skills, Faster Cast Rate, Mana, and Faster Hit Recovery, while Splendor offers an inexpensive alternative until better equipment becomes available.
Helmets offer several strong options depending on your priorities. Harlequin Crest remains the most universal choice thanks to its +2 Skills, Life, Mana, Damage Reduction, and Magic Find, making it an excellent option for both progression and endgame farming. Rare Circlets with +2 Warlock Skills, 20% Faster Cast Rate, and useful modifiers such as Resistances, Life, Mana, or Strength can outperform unique helms in highly optimized setups by making it easier to reach important Faster Cast Rate breakpoints. Hellwarden's Will is another excellent offensive choice, providing Faster Cast Rate together with valuable reductions to Enemy Magic and Enemy Fire Resistance, while Lore remains an inexpensive starter option until stronger gear becomes available.
Body armor follows a familiar progression. Enigma is the unquestioned Best-in-Slot option, as Teleport dramatically improves farming efficiency and allows you to reposition constantly while maintaining the aggressive rhythm of Echoing Strike. The additional Skills, Strength, and Magic Find make it one of the most impactful upgrades for the entire build. Before obtaining Enigma, Skin of the Vipermagi provides an outstanding combination of Skills, Faster Cast Rate, and Resistances for early Hell progression.
Gloves are simple to choose. Trang-Oul's Claws remain the strongest option thanks to their 20% Faster Cast Rate and valuable Cold Resistance, making it much easier to reach important casting breakpoints. Magefist serves as a perfectly viable alternative, offering the same Faster Cast Rate together with improved Mana regeneration for longer farming sessions.
For boots, Wraithstep stands out as the strongest endgame choice, granting an additional Warlock Skill Tree Level, Faster Run/Walk, Faster Hit Recovery, and valuable Attributes. If possible, obtaining +1 Chaos Skills on Wraithstep provides another noticeable increase to Hex Purge's damage. Sandstorm Trek is an excellent defensive alternative, while Silkweave remains a comfortable progression option thanks to its Mana sustain.
For jewelry, Mara's Kaleidoscope remains the most balanced amulet, providing +2 to All Skills, a large amount of All Resistances, and valuable Attributes that fit every stage of progression. Players looking to optimize their endgame setup should instead aim for a Rare or Crafted Caster Amulet with +2 Warlock Skills and 10–20% Faster Cast Rate, as these can outperform Mara's by helping reach important Faster Cast Rate breakpoints while adding useful modifiers such as Life, Mana, or Resistances. The Stone of Jordan continues to be the strongest all-around offensive ring thanks to its additional Skill Level and massive Mana bonus. For the second ring slot, Sling is an exceptional choice, as its Enemy Magic Resistance Reduction directly increases the damage of Hex Purge, while also providing Faster Cast Rate and useful utility stats. If additional breakpoint optimization is required, a well-rolled Rare FCR Ring with Resistances, Strength, Mana, or Life remains an excellent alternative for completing the build.
Charms
Charms for the Echoing Strike Warlock are primarily focused on increasing the damage of Hex Purge while rounding out your defenses.
The Warlock Hellfire Torch and Annihilus are mandatory in every endgame setup, providing valuable Skill Levels, Attributes, and Resistances. Beyond those, you'll want +1 Eldritch Grand Charms to maximize the damage of Hex Purge and its supporting skills. Fill your remaining inventory space with Small Charms offering Life, All Resistances, or Maximum Damage depending on whether you need additional survivability or want to squeeze out more damage from Echoing Strike. Finally, carrying a Magic Sunder Charm is highly recommended, allowing Hex Purge to remain effective against Magic Immune enemies in endgame content.
