Blizzard Sorceress Diablo 2 Resurrected Build

Blizzard Sorceress Diablo 2 Resurrected Build

One of the best Starter builds for the Sorc class after Ladder resets

Early Ladder MF
Blizzard Sorceress Build

For Diablo 2 Resurrected

Build Overview

Early on in Diablo 2 Resurrected you will want to make a character capable of efficiently farming the end-game content, as doing this should allow you to get a solid start and secure an easy transition to the late game. The Blizzard Sorcerers build featured in this guide was designed for just that - early ladder farming. Thanks to the formidable utility and unparalleled mobility, unachievable by any other Class early on, this Blizzard Sorceress build is capable of easily defeating Mephisto on the Hell difficulty.

This version of the Blizzard Sorc was created with farming Hell Mephisto in mind. If you equip it with the recommended [Early] gear choices, it should dispatch of the Lord of Hatred rather quickly.

You can also check our other  Diablo 2 Resurrected Builds

 Pros  Cons
Great Mobility  Can run out of Mana rather quickly without good gear
High AoE Damage   Starter Build - Not optimized for the Late game
 Good Crowd Control

Skills

ATTRIBUTES
  1. Strength - All you want, in terms of Strength, is enough of it to equip everything you will want to use on your character.
  2. Dexterity - Same as Strength - you only need enough Dexterity to meet gear requirements.
  3. Vitality - You should put all your remaining points here - main stat.
  4. Energy - Adding points to Energy is an extreme waste - don't do it.
COLD SPELLS

This is the core Skill Tree of this Build. Cold Spells allow us to deal substantial Damage right from the start. Moreover, they offer solid crowd control which is extremely helpful as we can't really rely on our gear to save us yet.

Skills:

  1. Frozen Armor [1/20] - Gives us a solid defensive boost and freezes any melee attached that hits us. 1 point is worth the investment - just remember to refresh it once it runs out.
  2. Ice Bolt [X/20] - Fires a bolt of ice that slows and damages the target. Ice Bolt synergizes with Blizzard and thus you should work on maxing it out.
  3. Frost Nova [1/20] - Prerequisite.
  4. Ice Blast [20/20] - An upgraded version of Ice Blast that Freezes the target in place and damages it. More useful than Ice Bolt but still taken mainly for its Blizzard synergy.
  5. Glacial Spike [20/20] - A shard of ice that inflicts massive Cold damage and explodes to freeze nearby enemies. Another Blizzard synergy.
  6. Blizzard [20/20] - Summons an ice storm to rain cold death onto your enemies. A very powerful AoE Skill that deals Cold Damage and freezes all affected enemies. With this, we are able to quickly take care of packs of enemies while keeping a safe distance.
  7. Cold Mastery [17/20] - Reduces Cold Resistance of your Enemies. This Passive Skill makes us much more versatile by ensuring that we deal good damage to monsters that are normally very resistant to Cold. 17/20 is enough as it gives -100% Cold Resistance.

LIGHTNING SPELLS

Sorceress's Lightning Spells Skill tree offers high utility abilities that simply cannot be passed up. The obvious one is the Teleport which turns the Sorceress into a queen of battlefield mobility. The less obvious one is the Static Field that works especially well on high health enemies.

Skills:

  1. Static Field [X/20] - All enemies in a given radius lose 1/4 of their health. Every point invested into Static Field increases its area of influence. This skill is extremely helpful as it effectively deals 25% of enemies' health as damage to them. 1 Point here is usually enough, but you can spend more if you feel like you need additional range.
  2. Telekinesis [1/20] - Prerequisite.
  3. Teleport [1/20] - The best mobility Spell in Diablo 2 Resurrected. It instantly moves you to a destination within your line of sight.
FIRE SPELLS

We want just a single Skill from this one.

Skills:

  1. Warmth [1/20] - A passive skill that increases our Mana recovery rate. Warmth is always worth taking and thus you'll see it in pretty much every D2R Sorc Build.

Items

You should try to get to (at least) a 63% Faster Cast Rate. If you manage to get your hands on Items that Give +Skills/Cold Spells, you should definitely use them. Magic Find should also be close to the top of your list as it will allow you to gear up much quicker. Extra Health and Vitality is always welcome as well, as it makes you a bit tankier. Faster Hit Recovery, Faster Run/Walk, and extra Stamina/Stamina Regen are also very useful to have.

CHARMS

  1. Grand Charms -  If you're lucky and you find Grand Charms with +Cold Spells early, consider yourself lucky. Otherwise, use any of these that offer useful bonuses - Magic Find, Resistances, Life, etc.
  2. Large Charms -  You can find Magic Find, Resistances and bonuses to Life on these which makes them useful early on - if you find these, you should definitely use them.
  3. Small Charms - With these, you should get your desired Resistances, bonuses to Life, or bonuses to Magic Find - whatever suits your needs, basically.
  4. As for Unique Charms; if you can afford them - use them.

MERCENARY

Equipping a mercenary early on can be extremely difficult as finding a 4-Socket Polearm (for Insight Runeword) can take a lot of time, however, if you manage to do that, you should definitely employ a Merc as it will help you on your ventures. Please note that the below-mentioned recommendations can turn out to be quite expensive, especially early on.

We recommend picking up Act 2 Defiance Mercenary for extra damage mitigation bonuses. He should be equipped with:

  1. Insight Rune Word in Ethereal Spear - This provides a Meditation Aura that increases our Mana Recovery Rate which is extremely helpful.
  2. Fortitude Rune Word in Armor - This Runeword gives solid defenses that are necessary to keep your merc alive.
  3. Vampire Gaze - An extremely solid and versatile headgear that will make your merc much more durable.
  4. The rest of the Merc's equipment will mainly depend on your budget and drops - focusing on items with extra defense, life/vitality, life leech, or offensive mods (like crushing blow) is generally a good idea.
