Build Overview
Tornado is a very iconic spell available to the Druid class, which as the name suggests, summons a spinning Tornado that always keeps moving and deals a moderate amount of Damage on its way. The Damage of a single Hit is not particularly high, but it can apply it many times over its total duration. Having the Stormchaser's Aspect greatly helps in that regard, as it will cause your Tornados to seek out enemies, but smart positioning is also sufficient at first. As a Shapeshifter you will have access to powerful Buffs and Debuffs in the form of Roars that grant a considerable amount of power and Resource generation. Speaking of which, to generate Spirit it is best to use the Wind Shear ability which doesn't deal much Damage but can make your enemies Vulnerable and greatly improve your Movement Speed. It is a great Build if you want to explore the caster archetype of the Druid Class.
Please keep in mind, that the following Guide explains the basic variant of the build, without diving into all alternative variants that may utilize different utility skills for various benefits. This will be obviously updated as we have a chance to test out this build properly in the actual game.

Skills
TORNADO [5/5] |
Your core and most important Spell. Summoned Tornados swirl around and deal Physical Damage to any Enemy they touch. It has a low Lucky Strike Chance but can Hit very often to compensate, resulting in a pretty good proc rate overall. Modifiers:
|
WIND SHEAR [1/5] |
It sends a small Projectile which is used mainly to generate your Spirit. It also improves your Movement Speed by up to 20% which greatly improves your mobility. Modifiers:
|
BLOOD HOWL [5/5] |
A defensive Skill that Heals 20% of your Maximum Life when used. It is a Shapeshifting ability that will turn you into Werewolf for a short duration, so you can get an extra Movement Speed from your other Passives. Modifiers:
|
DEBILITATING ROAR [1/5] |
An active form of mitigation, when used drastically reduces the Damage of affected Enemies, but only for a short time. Modifiers:
|
POISON CREEPER [1/5] |
Summons a Companion that will sometimes inflict Poison on your Enemies. It doesn't do much on its own but allows you to benefit from various bonuses against Poisoned Enemies. Activating it Immobilizes nearby Enemies, which is a very useful form of Crown Control. |
GRIZZLY RAGE [1/1] |
At first, this Ultimate Ability grants you a decent amount of bonus Damage and Damage Reduction. Thanks to the Dire Wolf's Aspect it will grant you extra Movement Speed and greatly reduce your Spirit Costs. Modifiers:
|
Passive Skills
WILD IMPULSES [3/3] |
Makes your Core Skills deal more Damage but they cost more Spirit in return. Pick it up once you have a good Spirit sustain. |
DIGITIGRADE GAIT [3/3] |
Improves your Movement Speed when you are in the Werewolf Form. |
VIGILANCE [3/3] |
Further improves your Damage Reduction after using any Defensive Skill. |
NATURE'S REACH [3/3] |
Improves your Damage against Distant Enemies. It works even better if you can inflict Slow or Immobilize (with the Poison Creeper for example). |
ELEMENTAL EXPOSURE [1/3] |
Another way to inflict Vulnerability on your Enemies. Rank 1 is good enough, but you can upgrade it to Rank 3 if you prefer more consistent uptime. |
TOXIC CLAWS [1/3] |
Your Werewolf's Skills Inflict Poison. Pick it up once you have The Tempest Roar Unique Helmet equipped, as it will turn your Storm Skills into Werewolf Skills. |
NEUROTOXIN [1/3] |
Poisoned Enemies are also Slowed now, which has great synergy with your Passives and many conditional Affixes on your Gear. |
ENVENOM [3/3] |
Greatly increases your Critical Strike Damage against Poisoned Enemies. |
DEFIANCE [3/3] |
Improves your Damage against Elite Enemies, which is where it matters the most. |
CIRCLE OF LIFE [3/3] |
Every time you spend Spirit you will be Healed for 3% of maximum Life. |
NATURAL DISASTER [3/3] |
Your Storm Skills deal increased Damage against Stunned, Immobilized, or Knocked Back Enemies. |
RESONANCE [3/3] |
Nature Skills deal 6% increased Damage. The condition to use Storm Skill after an Earth Skill is hard to meet, so it is best to ignore that part. |
Key Passive
PERFECT STORM |
You use only Storm Skills so it is an easy choice here. It further boosts your Damage against Vulnerable Enemies. |
Spirit Boons
Wariness |
This Deer's Boon reduces the Damage you take from Elite Enemies, which are usually the most dangerous opponents you meet. |
Avian Wrath |
Grants you a solid boost to your Critical Strike's Damage. You can also use the Scythe Talons to improve your Critical Strike Chance. |
Calamity |
Makes your Ultimate Skill last longer. It becomes especially important once you pick up the Dire Werewolf's Aspect to improve your Spirit sustain. |
Energize |
Grants around a 1% Chance to restore 10 Spirit every time Tornado Hits an Enemy. |
Calm Before the Storm |
Your Lucky Hits have a 10% chance to reduce the remaining Cooldown of your Ultimate Skill by 2 seconds. |
Items
Critical Strike Chance and Critical Strike Damage are always useful to have as they multiply your Damage. To increase the Damage you can use various modifiers, either unconditional like Core Skill Damage or conditionals that you can easily fulfill like Distant, Vulnerable, Slowed, or affected by Crown Control. Cooldown Reduction will allow you to use your major abilities more often, and any modifier to Resources will make spamming Tornados much easier to do. Additional Lucky Hit Chance is also extremely powerful. Defensively speaking, you will want to have any form of Damage Reduction and as much Maximum Life as you can reasonably obtain. Generic Damage Reduction provides fewer values but is much more reliable. As for your Attributes, Willpower performs the best, although Dexterity and Intelligence are also quite useful. In your Weapon, you should socket Sapphires as they increase your Critical Strike Damage against Crowd Controlled Enemies, which you will have very high uptime of. In your Armour, you should use Ruby to increase your Maximum Life, which is always useful. Gems in your Jewelery should also be focused on defense, and Skulls prove to be the most universal ones to have. |

RECOMMENDED UNIQUE ITEMS |
|
Tempest Roar (Helm) - a very important Unique for this Build. It grants you decent Spirit generation with your Tornado Skills but also allows for more synergy with Passives and Gear Affixes related to Werewolf Skills. |
+ Damage while Shapeshifted + Poison Resistance + Maximum Spirit + Life on Kill Lucky Hit: Storm Skills have up to a [15 - 25%] chance to grant 4 Spirit. Your base Storm Skills are now also Werewolf Skills |
Temerity (Pants) - a very powerful and universal pair of Pants that grants you tons of Barrier through your Healing. It doesn't impact your gameplay but passively makes it safer. |
+ Potion Charges + Potion Drop Rate + Lucky Hit: Chance to Heal + Healing Effects that Heal you beyond 100% Life grant you a Barrier up to [40 - 80%] of your Maximum Life that lasts for 8 seconds. |
CODEX OF POWER |
|
Mandatory/Heavily recommended Aspects
Optional Aspects
|
Paragon
1st Board - Starting Board Nodes - Get the Damage nodes and path to the next board. Pick up the Willpower and Defensive Nodes as you acquire more points. Glyphs - Werewolf (or Human at first) increases your Damage with Werewolf (or Storm) skills so it is a decent pick here. |
2nd Board - Ancestral Guidance Board Nodes - The Legendary Node here grants your reliable Damage boost. Reclamation can help you with Spirit sustainability while Spiritual Power and Harmony simply increase your Damage. Glyphs - Undaunted Glyph grants lots of Damage if you can keep up your Fortify granted by Grizzly Roar and Debilitating Roar. |
3rd Board - Heightened Malice Board Nodes - once you start inflicting Poisons with your Storm-converted-to-Werewolf Skills, Heightened Malice grants great value. Glyphs - Spirit Glyph massively increase your Damage with Critical Strikes. |
4th Board - Lust for Carnage Board Nodes - the Legendary Node here improves your Spirit generation. You can also pick up Ferocity to improve your Damage. Glyphs - there are no Glyphs to pick up, as it would be too inefficient to path there. |
5th Board - Thunderstruck Board Nodes - The Thunderstruck Legendary Node grants tons of Critical Strike Damage for your Skills. The Deluge and its magic Nodes are also very strong. The Hubris is a useful defensive Node and Stormcaller is simply close enough to Socket to make it worth it. Glyphs - Earth and Sky Glyph make nearby Magic Nodes more effective. It works very well there as it grants a decent amount of Damage Reduction and increased Damage for your Storm Skills. |
6th Board - Constricting Tendrils Board Nodes - The Legendary Node here would be pretty useful if the pathing would be better. Instead, it is better to pick up Nature's Will and Courage, which are in close proximity to the Glyph Socket. Glyphs - It is a great place for the Exploit Glyph which grants plenty of Damage and guarantees the Vulnerability on your Enemies when you begin your fight with them. |
