Build Overview

The Season of Malignant brings us new powerful Aspects to the game, and the Druid Class got one of the best ones yet. The Landslide is a quite good Core Skill that summons rocks to strike your opponents. It is a pretty simple yet effective Skill. The true potential of this ability is that it can be triggered in a few other ways, which significantly improves its damage potential, as well as the enjoyability of the Build. With the Aspect of the Trampled Earth, you will now summon 6 additional Landslides when you use the Trample Skill. On the other hand, the Subterranean Aspect grants you almost free 20% more Damage, and casting your Poison Creeper will now trigger many Landslides in its area. Add in the Aspect of the Aftershock that basically doubles all the Landslide Damage by striking another time, and you got yourself a very powerful combination. With this Build you will often inflict Poison on your Enemies. It deals a very small amount of Damage but allows you to benefit from certain effects against Poisoned Enemies.  You might be concerned about Cooldowns for all those triggering Skills, but worry not, as we also have a way to deal with it. The Symbiotic Aspect reduces the Cooldown of all your Skills by 5 seconds every time you trigger a Nature’s Fury Passive, which in this case is very often.

Another very important feature of this Build is that you can enjoy all that without any particular Unique Item! All the basics are reliant on the easy-to-get Aspects, so you can enjoy this setup right from the start. However, you can use the Greatstaff of the Crone to improve the consistency of the Build at the cost of the maximum Damage output. Overall, low Cooldowns and very fast-paced gameplay make this Build extremely enjoyable and efficient at farming.

Please keep in mind, that the following Guide explains the basic variant of the build, without diving into all alternative variants that may utilize different utility skills for various benefits. This will be obviously updated as we have a chance to test out this build properly in the actual game.

NATURE'S FURY

Very important Key Passive for this Build. It triggers free Skills and lowers the Cooldowns of most of your Abilities when paired with Symbiotic Aspect

Spirit Boons

Lowers the Damage you take from Elite Enemies.

Avian Wrath

Greatly improve the Damage of all your Critical Strikes.

Swooping Attacks

Grants 10% more Attack Speed, which makes your Gameplay faster and smoother.

Packleader

Your Lucky Hits will sometimes reset the Cooldown of your Poison Creeper. It can even reset from its own Damage!

Calm Before the Storm

It will sometimes lower the Cooldown of your Ultimate Ability.

Items

The scaling of this Build is very usual. You want to get as much Cooldown Reduction, Vulnerable and Critical Strike Damage, as well as Lucky Hit Chance and Ranks for your main Skills and Passives. Landslide is Earth Skill, so any boosts to Earth and Nature Damage will be helpful too. The Poison in this Build is used only as a way to enable certain conditions for your Skills, so don't invest in Damage over Time in any way.
To improve Defense you should aim for total Armour, maximum Life, and any variant of Damage Reduction you can get. Life on Kill is also a decent option to improve your sustain a bit. Since you use a lot of triggers, maximum Spirit or Spirit Cost Reduction is not necessary, although it is still useful if you happen to have it on your gear anyway.

In your Weapon, you would want to Socket Sapphire or Emerald. Both are equally good. If you can easily sustain Fortify, you should use Sapphires in your Armour, otherwise use Rubies.

MALIGNANTS HEARTS

Inexorable Force (Devious Heart) - conveniently pulls all nearby Enemies when you use your Ultimate Ability.

Up to (30-50) Distant enemies are pulled toward you while you have an Ultimate Skill active.

The Barber  (Wrathful Heart) - currently one of the strongest Hearts for every Build in the game. It stores all the Damage you dealt with in a short time and amplifies it to one powerful hit.

Critical Strikes and all subsequent damage within (2-4) seconds is absorbed by your target. Then, the absorbed damage erupts onto surrounding enemies. Stored damage is increased by 10% per second.

Revenge (Brutal Heart) - another insanely powerful Heart. It basically reduces all Damage you take by up to 20% and deals additional Damage when you use the Defensive Skill.

(10-20)% of incoming damage is instead suppressed. When you use a Defensive, Subterfuge, or Macabre skill, all suppressed damage is amplified by 250% and explodes, dealing up to (1360-2040) Fire damage to nearby enemies.

OPTIONAL UNIQUE ITEMS

Greatstaff of the Crone (Weapon) - allows you to use Claw as your Main builder ability. It improves the consistency of the Build as you will reset Cooldowns more often but provides less Damage than a proper Legendary Weapon.

Greatstaff of the Crone

+Damage to Close Enemies

+Damage to Crowd Controlled Enemies

+Non-Physical Damage

+Ranks to Claw

Claw is now a Storm Skill and also casts Storm Strike at [120 - 150%] normal damage.

CODEX OF POWER
Legendary Aspects

Mandatory/Heavily recommended Aspects

  1. Symbiotic Aspect reduces your Cooldowns every time you trigger your Key Passive, it is mandatory for smooth gameplay.
  2. Subterranean Aspect improves your Damage against Poisoned Enemies and makes your Companion Skill much more valuable.
  3. Aspect of the Trampled Earth using the Trample Skill will now additionally summon a few pillars from the Landslide ability with a slightly reduced Damage. It also converts Trample into Nature Skill.
  4. Aspect of the Aftershock massively increases the Damage of your Landslide by adding an additional Strike to every instance of Landslide.

Optional Aspects

  1. Aspect of Might grant you decent Damage Reduction after you use a Basic Skill.
  2. Aspect of Disobedience improves your Armour as long as you deal any Damage to enemies.
  3. Ballistic Aspect grants 2 Ranks for all your Earth Skills as long as you have the Fortify effect up.
  4. Aspect of Retaliation also improves your Damage when you have Fortify. Try to have it maxed out at all times.
  5.  Crashstone Aspect improves the Critical Strike Damage of your Skills against Corwd-Controlled Enemies. It is usually easier to maintain, so consider putting it on your Weapon for a massive boost.
  6. Aspect of Mending Stone improves your Earthen Bulwark ability for extra defenses.

Paragon

1st Board - Starting Board

Here you will want to grab Damage Nodes and Glyph Socket. You can also take additional Defenses if you have enough points to spare.

Glyphs - It is a decent spot to use the Exploit Glyph. It makes applying Vulnerability much easier.

2nd Board - Heightened Malice Board
Legendary Node in the Down Right corner

Nodes - The Heightened Malice greatly improves your Damage while there are at least 3 nearby Enemies. You should pick nearby Rare Nodes that boost your Damage against Elites and Poisoned Enemies such as Overturn or Stinking Fangs.

Glyphs - here you can socket the Spirit Glyph that gives you extra Critical Strike Damage. Try to boost it up with nearby Dexterity Nodes.

3rd Board - Earthen Devastation Board
to the left of the Heightened Malice Board
Legendary Node in the Top Right corner

Nodes - Earthen Devastation is a very powerful bonus for this Build as you can easily keep your Enemies under the influence of Crowd Control abilities. The Opress and Earthen Might Nodes will also improve your damage, so it's worth picking them up. The Slayer and its nearby Nodes will grant you plenty of Armour.

Glyphs - the Undaunted Glpyh which you can socket here further emphasizes your Fortify effect. It will boost your Damage and Defenses.

4th Board - Survival Instincts Board
on top of the Earthen Devastation Board
Legendary Node in the Right Middle side

Nodes - the Legendary Node here boosts only the Damage you deal with Landslides summoned by Trample, but it is still a worthy pick. You can also take nearby useful Rare Nodes like Battleworn Hide, Grizzly, Zealeous, or Spearhead.

Glyphs - The Earth and Sky Glyph slightly boosts nearby Magic Nodes, but it is used mostly for the second bonus of that Glyph, which increases your Damage against Crowd Controlled or Vulnerable opponents.

5th Board - Inner Beast Board
to the right of the Survival Instincts Board
Legendary Node in the Right Middle side

Nodes - the Legendary Node is not used here, but you should pick up Tenacity and Determination for the Defensive bonuses they grant.

Glyphs - The Territorial Glyph makes you much more proficient in Close distance, as it boosts both your Damage and Defense against Close enemies.
