Diablo 3 Power Leveling - Detailed Guide

Find out how it's dont by the Pros. We reveal the "secrets" behind Diablo 3 Power Leveling

Diablo 3 Power Leveling - Detailed Guide

Power Leveling in Diablo 3 is one of the hottest topics. All the fun and the competitive gameplay starts when your character reaches level 70 (and well, when you gets some gear, but let's leave it for another guide). Fast Power Leveling in Diablo is nothing new, although a lot of players still have a vague idea how it's done. Let's reveal the "secrets" of the professional boosters!

There are several ways a Power Leveling can be done. We will divide our guide into four sections. Each will describe a different Power Leveling mode.

Mode 1 - Getting help from a good geared friend or a professional Power Leveler

Q: Who can do it?

Anyone, this is suitable for both new and regular players, no matter their current account level or status

Q: How does it work?

A skilled and geared player starts a Torment VI game. Invites the level 1 player and start clearing Nephalem Rifts. The other character (the one that is getting power leveled) is supposed to stay at Rifts entrances and leech the experience. It's also possible to follow up and pick-up loot, but you will die often, and it prolongs the process.  This is done in 4 simple steps:

1) The Power Leveler (Booster) opens a Nephalem Rift on Torment VI difficulty level

2) The Boosted Character is leeching experience at the Rifts entrance

3) After the Power Levelers moves to next levels - it's required to Teleport to him

4) Repeat until Level 70 :)

Q: How long does it take?

A skilled booster can get you to level 70 in about 10-15 minutes

Q: How can I get Power Leveled like that?

You need to have a good geared friend that will be willing to do it for you, or you have to "hire" professional boosters. You can also find help on Power Leveling community chats or in exchange for sharing Rainbow and Menagerist Goblins with people interested in Cosmetic Items
We also have a small Guide about Power Leveling that explains how you can get someone else to do it (and possibly drop you some items as well) that can be found here.

Mode 2 - Playing Solo using Crafted Legendary weapons with level 1 requirements

Q: Who can do it?

This mode is only available to already somewhat experienced and geared players who want to equip another character on their own.

Q: How does it work?

Player prepares a weapon through the Work of Cathan Kanai's Cube recipe. It removes the level requirement of the weapon, allowing it to be wielded by the level 1 character that will be leveling to 70. We suggest using an In-geom for it; it will let your hero to spam movement skills making you much faster. The damage skills itself aren't that important as most of the monsters will die in one hit. As you can see on the second screenshot, you will also end up at around 50k DPS, and nearly 2 MIL Toughness with barely the weapon and Paragon Level 800 points assigned (no other items were equipped). Additionally, it's good to put another Gem of Ease into the weapon's socket, for an incredible experience boost.

With such character, the player can level up through Cursed Chest events on Torment VI, and eventually lower the difficulty to farm different areas. Can be done in Nephalem Rifts, Halls of Agony level 3 or pretty much anything else, where you can comfortably clear the area fast.

Usually requires the player to have several crafting materials stocked, to get some item upgrades along the way.

Q: How long does it take?

A skilled player can get to level 70 in about 45-60 minutes. Making it that fast might require you also to use the Molten Wildbeest Gizzard gem, that will make you initially immune to all damage.

Q: How can I get Power Leveled like that?

You need to have a well-geared character, possibly an Ancient weapon, and two level 25+ Gems of Ease. One of the is required to be 25 to be able to use the Work of Cathan Recipe, while the other gives you experience boost, so the higher it is, the better. There is no other way around it, if you do not have those, please try the previous Power Leveling Mode

Cosmic Wings and Wings of Mastery are the coolest cosmetic items in Diablo 3. Their rarity, however, makes them nearly impossible to obtain for casual players. The easiest and safest way would be to buy them on Odealo market from professional boosters.

Mode 3 - Power Leveling through the Cow Event in Nephalem Rifts

Q: Who can do it?

Anyone can do it. You need to have friends that will invite you to the event if they find in during Nephalem Rifts. You can find it yourself as well, you will need someone to stay in-game while you relog on your level 1 character, and have the other person finish the even while you leech experience

Q: How does it work?

This mode is based on enormous experience gain from the Cow Even that can be randomly found in Nephalem Rifts. If done on Torment VI difficulty, with an experienced players killing the Cows (preferably with good AoE damage) you can reach level 70 within minutes (literally)

There is a good video explanation on youtube about this power leveling method, that can be seen here:

Considering the preparation times for this one, I believe the first Power Leveling Mode is much more effective though :)

Q: How long does it take?

As seen in the video, it can be accomplished in 1 minute.

Q: How can I get Power Leveled like that?

You need someone to invite you to the Cow Event in Nephalem Rifts. If you have a well-geared character on your own, you can also find the even yourself, and when you do, invite a friend of yours to clear it for you while you swap to your level 1 character

Mode 4 - Power Leveling with a Massacre Bonus

Q: Who can do it?

"Anyone" can do it, although because of its' complexity only the most experienced players will be able to benefit from the Massacre bonus.

Q: How does it work?

The main idea behind this PL mode is to be fast enough to clear big maps while getting multiplied experience points from killed monsters. All thanks to the Massacre bonus. It is advised to pick significant areas with good monster density. For example Fields of Misery, Dahlgur Oasis, Weeping Hollow, Paths of the Drowned, Battlefields of Eternity and several more areas will make an excellent choice.

This apparently can be done by various classes but we believe the fastest, and most suitable class for it is the Witch Doctor.

The steps are as follows:

1) Create your fresh level 1 Witch Doctor

2) Start a Normal (possibly Master) difficulty Adventure Mode game. You should be fine on Master difficulty level, although it's much easier to maintain the Massacre Bonus on Normal. It all depends on how much experience do you have with this one

3) Grab the Templar Follower weapon. It has over twice as much DPS than your starting weapon

4) Kill Maghda or Zoltan Kulle. You will get several useful rares from the chest after they are dead

5) Farm Fields of Misery until level 12 (or any of the previously mentioned locations)

6) Pick the Haunt spell. It is unlocked at level 12 and will act as your core damaging ability

7) Buy +average damage rings and amulet. I usually am lucky finding those in Act's III Bastion Stronghold

8) You should farm using Haunt to proc you the Massacre bonus. With its' incredibly DoT damage (4000% Weapon damage) you should be able to cast it on monsters and proceed forward, while the monsters you left behind will die over time and proc the bonus

9) Upgrade gear at around level 23 and 50. At 23 you can get Cain's set as long as you have found the recipe, and have the required materials. At around level 50 you should craft a high damage two-handed weapon.

10) Enjoy your level 70

Q: How long does it take?

Done right usually gets you from 1-70 in under 2hours

Q: How can I get Power Leveled like that?

You have to do it by yourself. If you have someone that can help you out, using the first method is much faster and more effective
