Build Overview

Bone Spear is a Necromancer Skill that this build revolves around. It's a Physical Damage Core Bone Skill that fires a projectile piercing through all enemies. The damage here is great due to the constant Vulnerability and high Critical Strike Chance/Damage. Resource Generation is extremely important due to the Key Passive and Serration. Having a lot of Essence at all times will be crucial. There are two other Bone Skills, each playing a major role - Bone Storm and Bone Splinters. Cast Bone Splinters to recover Essence, and Bone Storm for more Damage. Other utility Skills are Corpse Explosion, Corpse Tendrils, and Decrepify. The build is not very durable so try keeping distance from your targets - the aforementioned Skills will help you with that. You won't use Minions, but you can sacrifice them to boost your own performance.

Please keep in mind, that the following Guide explains the basic variant of the build, without diving into all alternative variants that may utilize different utility skills for various benefits. This will be obviously updated as we have a chance to test out this build properly in the actual game.

 Pros  Cons
Very high Damage with great AoE  Has to keep a distance from targets to survive
Slows, Stuns, and makes enemies Vulnerable

The primary damage source. It pierces through all enemies in a straight line dealing Physical Damage.

  1. Enhanced Bone Spear [1/1] - The Spear shatters into three separate projectiles when destroyed, each dealing quarter of the original's damage.
  2. Supernatural Bone Spear [1/1] - The first enemy hit by the Bone Spear becomes Vulnerable for 3 seconds.

Splinters deal little to no damage but are still useful because instead of costing Essence, they Generate it. These grant 6 Essence on cast, and one extra Essence pear each subsequent time an enemy is hit from the same cast. Essence Generation is quite important in this build and with Splintering Aspect it grants tons of Resources.

  1. Enhanced Bone Splinters [1/1] - If you have over 50 Essence, you have a 25% chance of firing two extra Splinters.
  2. Initiate's Bone Splinters [1/1] - Hitting an enemy 3 times with one cast will grant you an 8% Critical Strike Chance for the next 4 seconds.

The Ultimate Skill with high Cooldown. For the next 10 seconds, you'll deal a lot of damage to surrounding enemies.

  1. Prime Bode Storm [1/1] - During Bone Storm your Damage Reduction is increased by 15%.
  2. Supreme Bone Storm [1/1] - During Bone Storm your Critical Strike Chance is increased by 20%.

Detonates a corpse dealing damage to surrounding enemies. It has no Cost or Cooldown but requires a corpse.

  1. Enhanced Corpse Explosion [1/1] - Explosion has a slightly larger radius.
  2. Plagued Corpse Explosion [1/1] - Explosion deals x8% increased damage to Slowed, Stunned, or Vulnerable enemies. It's very easy to proc with Bone Spear, Corpse Tendrils, and Decrepify.

Only one point spent here is enough. It pulls enemies to one spot where they're easier to hit with all the Skills or pulls them away from you. It Stuns enemies for 3 seconds and doesn't consume a Corpse.

Creates a Cursed area. Enemies affected by it deal 24% less damage and are Slowed by 51%. It makes them easier to hit and less likely to kill you.

  1. Enhanced Decrepify [1/1] - Affected enemies have a 10% chance of being Stunned for 2 seconds on hit with any Skill.
  2. Abhorren Decrepify [1/1] - Hitting the Cursed enemy has a 15% chance of reducing your active Cooldowns by one second.

Passive Skills

Increases your Maximum Essence by 9.

Bone Spear costs x9% more Essence, but deals 15% increased damage.

Licky Hits have a 12% chance of creating a Corpse, it grows to 24% against bosses. Corpses will be needed.

Makes you deal x9% increased damage to cursed enemies, which should always apply to bosses.

With it, you deal x12% increased damage to Distant enemies. You're using Bone Spear with is definitely suited for long-range combat.

For each 10 Essence, you have at the time of casting, your Bone Skills (Bone Spear, Bone Splinters, and Bone Storm) have a 0.9% increased Critical Strike Chance.

For every 100 spent Essence, the Cooldown of your Bone Skills is reduced by 1,5 seconds.

After 10 Critical Strikes with Bone Skills, their damage gets increased by x15% for the next 5 seconds.

Bone Skills deal x18% increased damage to Vulnerable targets (they are Vulnerable after getting hit with Bone Spear).

Damage Reduction is increased by 18%, but is getting reduced by 2% for each active Minion. You don't use them so it's very good.

Bonuses from Sacrificing both Skeletal Mages and Warriors increase their Sacrifice bonuses by 60%.

Key Passive

As you cast a Bone Skill whilst at above 50 Essence, their damage gets increased by x1% for each Essence after that threshold. It's great with Maximum Essence and Resource Generation.

Here's the stat priority list. This build benefits greatly from Critical Strike modifiers, Resource Generation, Maximum Essence, Vulnerability-adjacent mods, Lucky Hit Chance, and of course Bone/Physical Skills Damage. The opponents should be Vulnerable most of the time, Slow is only applied by the Decrepify Skill. You should be looking for these on your gear:

  1. Chest Armor - DMG with Bone Skills → All Stats → % DMG → % DMG Reduction from Close
  2. Gloves - % Atk Speed → Bone Spear → % Crit Chance → % Crit DMG
  3. Boots - % Move Speed → % Elemental Res → % Resource Cost Reduction → All Stats
  4. Amulet - % Bone DMG → % Weapon DMG → % Move Speed → % DMG Reduction from Close
  5. Rings - % Vuln DMG → % Crit Chance → Lucky Hit Chance → % Crit DMG

In the Sockets use Emerald Gem in a Weapon slot for Critical Strike Chance against Vulnerable enemies. Use Ruby Gem in your Armor to increase your Maximum Life. For the Jewelry, choose Skull for the extra Armor.

Harlequin Crest (Helm) - Armour, Physical Damage, Critical Strike with Bone Skills, and Maximum Essence are all of considerable value. It's a Crit-reliant build that deals Physical Damage and needs a lot of Essence. It also upgrades the Bone Spear directly.

Harlequin Crest

+Physical Damage

+Critical Strike Damage for Bone Skills

+Maximum Essence

+Bone Spear leaves behind echoes as it travels that explode, dealing [X] damage

The Grandfather (Two-Handed Sword) - We recommend this well-rounded weapon for a major bonus to predominantly Critical Strike Damage. You have to have a high Crit Chance already to benefit from it. It also increases Maximum Life, Damage, All Stats, and it ignores Durability Loss.

Fists of Fate

+Critical Strike Damage

+Maximum Life

+All Stats

+Ignores Durability Loss

+Increases your Critical Strike Damage by [60 - 100%]. The other properties on this weapon can roll higher than normal.

Temerity (Pants) - The character heavily relies on Potions, it doesn't have many ways to recover Life. Use these Pants to upgrade Potion Charges, Drop Rate, Healing, Chance to Heal on Lucky Hit, Movement Speed, and a Barrier.

+Your potion also briefly grants Movement Speed

+Potion Charges

+Potion Drop Rate

+Lucky Hit: Chance to Heal

+Effects that Heal you beyond 100% Life grant you a Barrier up to [40 - 80%] of your Maximum Life that lasts for 8 seconds.

Legendary Aspects

Mandatory/Heavily recommended Aspects

  1. Splintering Aspect upgrades Bone Spear and Bone Shards. Bone's Spear primary Attack makes enemies Hit beyond the first Vulnerable for up to 2,5 seconds. Bone Shards pierce Vulnerable targets and deal more damage to them.

Optional Aspects

  1. Osseous Gale Aspect allows Bone Storm to consume up to 8 Corpses increasing its duration per each Corpse consumed.
  2. Aspect of Shielding Storm upgrades Bone Storm too. It grants a small Barrier for 10 seconds each time this Skill hits an enemy.
  3. Aspect of the Exposed Flesh has a 10% chance of granting you a lot of Essence on Lucky Hits with your Bone Skills against Vulnerable enemies.
  4. Aspect of Grasping Vines is great if used with Corpse Tendrils. Hits against enemies damaged by it have bonus Critical Strike Damage. Your Crit Chance is increased after casting it.
  5. Aspect of Expectant makes your next Core Skill (Bone Spear) have increased damage after using the Basic Skill (Bone Splinters), it scales up to three times for a maximum of 30% increase in damage.

1st Board - Starting Board

Nodes - Purchase all the Dexterity surrounding the Exploit Glyph.

Glyphs - Exploit makes you deal increased damage to Vulnerable foes per Dexterity, and increases your damage while doing so.

2nd Board - Bone Graft Board

Glyphs - Essence Glyph makes your Bone Spear deal increased Crit Damage per Dexterity in radius, and it increases Crit Damage against enemies that are not Healthy.

3rd Board - Scent of Death

Nodes - Purchase the Legendary Node. If there are at least two Corpses nearby, you gain a 15% Damage Reduction. If not, you deal 15% increased damage.

Glyphs - Sacrificial Glyph upgrades all the Magical nodes in its range, and makes you deal a 10% increased damage if you don't have any active Minions.

4th Board - Blood Begets Blood

Nodes - Legendary node makes your Blood Orbs increase your damage by 5% for 5 seconds each, stacking up to three.
