Blessed Hammer Paladin Build for Diablo 4
Faith, flying hammers, and a very busy battlefield. Discover the Uniques and skills behind a mobile Blessed Hammer Paladin.Blessed Hammer Paladin Build
Last Update: November 2, 2026
Introduction
The Blessed Hammer Paladin turns a simple hammer throw into a moving ring of Holy destruction. Step into a crowd, summon a handful of spinning hammers, and let them follow you as you push toward the next group. Enemies walking into their path get battered from several directions, while Argent Veil sends out even more hammers during your Evades. Once the screen starts filling up, the old Hammerdin fantasy feels wonderfully chaotic.
This setup uses Disciple's Halo to make Blessed Hammer orbit the Paladin and gain the Disciple Skill tag. The Disciple Oath then rewards you for fighting in Arbiter form. Falling Star gets you into the middle of a pack and activates that form, while Arbiter of Justice provides a longer window for your heaviest attacks. The five-piece Light's Epiphany set makes that Ultimate considerably more dangerous and helps bring it back through your Disciple hits.
There is a sturdy fighter underneath all those hammers. Aegis supplies Resolve and a large burst of Block Chance, while Defiance Aura provides healing and additional Resolve through Rite of Prayer. Bulwark's Aspect strengthens your Block Chance, and Aspect of Redirected Force turns it into Critical Strike Damage. Herald of Zakarum reinforces the same close-range style with Strength, Armor and Resistances. You can stay near Elite packs long enough for the overlapping hammers to finish their work.
The big limitation is Faith management. Blessed Hammer is a Core Skill you want to cast frequently, and a poor resource setup can leave an awkward gap right in the middle of a fight. Bosses also require closer positioning because your orbiting hammers need time on target. With Herald's Morningstar, reliable Faith Regeneration and enough Cooldown Reduction, however, this Paladin becomes a fast-moving endgame farmer with excellent area damage and enough protection to handle dangerous melee encounters.
Pros
- Excellent AoE Damage
- Great Mobility
- Strong Defensive Tools
- Fun Combat Rhythm
Cons
- Needs Faith Regeneration
- Close-Range Boss Fighting

Equipment
Herald's Morningstar is the first Unique to look for. It raises Blessed Hammer damage and can create an additional base hammer when you hit enemies. This works especially well in busy rooms, where several targets give you more opportunities to trigger the extra projectiles. A Greater Affix on Ranks to Blessed Hammer is an excellent upgrade. Keep this weapon in your Main Hand and pair it with Herald of Zakarum, whose Strength and Armor bonuses improve both damage and durability. The Shield also keeps your natural blocking setup intact.
Argent Veil gives Hammerdin its most entertaining movement trick. Every few meters traveled during Arbiter's Evade, the Ring triggers an equipped non-Channeled Core Skill. Blessed Hammer is the only Core Skill on the bar, so every trigger calls another hammer. Aspect of the Arbiter's Zephyr on Boots shortens that Evade's Cooldown and lets you use movement offensively. You can dash through a group, leave hammers spinning behind you, and finish the stragglers with another cast as you turn toward the next pack.
The other Ring uses Aspect of Ascension, which rewards repeated casts that grant Arbiter form. Falling Star is the main trigger, and Arbiter of Justice provides a longer period to keep attacking. You lose Ascension stacks when Arbiter ends, so spare a Falling Star charge for the moment the transformation is about to expire. During a long boss fight, this timing has a bigger impact than a few extra points of raw damage on your gloves.
For defense, put Aspect of Glynn's Anvil on a Legendary Helm and Bulwark's Aspect on Chest Armor. Glynn's Anvil converts Resolve stacks into Damage Reduction, and Aegis can grant eight stacks immediately with Stay Resolute. Bulwark increases Block Chance and Block Damage Reduction, although it disables Dodge. That trade is worthwhile for a Paladin built around blocking. Aspect of Redirected Force goes on the Amulet, turning the resulting Block Chance into a large Critical Strike Damage bonus. Its effect grows even stronger after a successful Block.
Temerity is a comfortable choice for Pants. Defiance Aura and regular healing can produce a Barrier when they restore Life beyond your maximum, giving you an extra buffer as you move through dangerous packs. The Barrier is brief, so keep your health recovery active. Aspect of Holy Punishment on Gloves adds a reliable multiplier to Blessed Hammer's Holy damage, and the two remaining Legendary pieces offer enough room for Faith Regeneration, Critical Strike Chance, Strength and Maximum Life.
Light's Epiphany completes the offensive package. The five-piece bonus improves Disciple Skills during Arbiter of Justice and releases the Paladin's other Ultimates when you cast it. Use Griswold's Opus as the sixth Charm for extra Critical Strike Damage from repeated direct hits. The many hammers moving through a dense pack can build its bonus quickly. For a more offensive alternative, Leoric's Crown can replace the Legendary Helm, although removing Glynn's Anvil costs a noticeable amount of Resolve-based protection.
Light's Epiphany
- Berú of Light's Epiphany
- Fer of Light's Epiphany
- Linta of Light's Epiphany
- Mlor of Light's Epiphany
- Phoba of Light's Epiphany
- (2) Set: Disciple Skills reduce the Cooldown of Arbiter of Justice by 0.1 seconds when they deal damage, or by 0.5 seconds if they have a Cooldown.
- (3) Set: While in Arbiter form, gain 30% increased Maximum Life and 10% increased Movement Speed.
- (5) Set: Casting Arbiter of Justice unleashes all Ultimates, triggering Heaven's Fury and Fortress, and replaces Arbiter of Justice with Zenith for 10 seconds. Disciple Skills deal 500% increased damage for the duration of Arbiter of Justice. All Ultimates also count as Disciple Skills.
Herald's Morningstar
- Ranks to Blessed Hammer
Blessed Hammer deals [80 - 100]%[x] increased damage. Lucky Hit: Up to a 20% chance to spawn a base Blessed Hammer on the target hit.
Herald of Zakarum
- Thorns
Gain [40 - 50]% increased Strength, Resistance, Armor and Retribution Chance. Retribution gains 50% increased Size.
Argent Veil
- Ranks to Core Skills
Arbiter's Evade triggers a random equipped non-Channeled Core Skill for every 2.0 meters traveled. Core Skills deal [5 - 15]%[x] increased damage during Arbiter's Evade and for 4 seconds afterward.
Temerity
- Maximum Life
Effects that Heal you beyond 100% Life grant a Barrier equal to [80 - 100]% of the overhealed amount for 4 seconds. You may drink a Healing Potion while at full Life.
Griswold's Opus
Dealing direct damage grants [0.80 - 1.00]%[x] increased Critical Strike Damage for each enemy hit within 10 seconds, up to [40 - 50]%[x]. At maximum stacks, Lucky Hit: Critical Strikes have up to a 50% chance to deal double damage, Heal for [130 - 150] Life, and refresh the bonus.
Leoric's Crown
- Attack Speed
This item counts as Jewelry. The effect of a gem socketed in the Helm is increased by [35 - 50]%[x].
The Legendary Aspects occupy six separate slots: Glynn's Anvil on Helm, Bulwark on Chest Armor, Holy Punishment on Gloves, Arbiter's Zephyr on Boots, Redirected Force on the Amulet and Ascension on Ring 2. The Main Hand, Shield, Pants and Ring 1 remain reserved for their recommended Unique items.
Aspect of Glynn's Anvil
Your Maximum Resolve is increased by 2. Each Resolve stack grants [2.5 - 4.0]% Damage Reduction, up to [25 - 40]%.
Bulwark's Aspect
You can no longer Dodge, but you gain [20 - 30]% Block Damage Reduction and 15%[+] Block Chance.
Aspect of Holy Punishment
Holy and Fire damage are increased by 60%[x].
Aspect of the Arbiter's Zephyr
Arbiter's Evade Cooldown is reduced by 3.0 seconds.
Aspect of Redirected Force
Gain increased Critical Strike Damage equal to 60%[x] of your Block Chance. Successfully Blocking doubles this bonus for 10 seconds.
Aspect of Ascension
Casting a Skill that grants Arbiter form increases your damage by [5.0 - 7.0]%[x], stacking up to 10 times. All stacks are lost when leaving Arbiter form.
On Legendary gear, prioritize Faith Regeneration, Critical Strike Chance, Critical Strike Damage, Holy Damage, Strength, Cooldown Reduction and Maximum Life. Keep Armor and Resistance to All Elements at comfortable levels even with Herald of Zakarum equipped. Maximum Resolve and Block Chance are especially useful once Glynn's Anvil and Redirected Force are active. Seek Greater Affixes on Blessed Hammer Ranks, Critical Strike Chance and important resource stats before chasing small damage upgrades.
Skills
15/15Primary DPS: Blessed Hammer fills the area around you with spinning Holy projectiles. Disciple's Halo makes the hammers orbit the Paladin, so walking through a pack can hit the same targets several times. Herald's Morningstar adds damage and may spawn another base hammer on impact. This is the main button for both clearing and boss damage.
Max out the Skill and select Cast Speed, Disciple's Halo and Damage Bonus. Cast Speed makes the attacks feel much smoother, while Damage Bonus rewards repeated hits. Watch your Faith bar during long fights and keep a small reserve for the next group.
13/15Ultimate/Burst: Arbiter of Justice gives you an extended transformation for the most dangerous encounters. Its Wing Strikes pressure enemies at close range, and Light's Epiphany adds a major Disciple damage window. Trigger it in dense Elite groups or when a boss is ready to stand still long enough for several hammers to connect.
Choose Cooldown Reduction, Duration and Seraph's Wings. The last upgrade improves Wing Strikes and applies Vulnerable. Save Fanaticism Aura's active for the opening of your Ultimate burst whenever possible.
1/15Mobility/Form: Falling Star closes the distance to enemies and is your most convenient way to enter Arbiter form. With the Disciple Oath, casting a Disciple Skill that has a Cooldown activates the transformation. A fresh charge can also keep Ascension stacks active when the fight drags on.
Take Cooldown Reduction and Additional Charge. Enter packs with Falling Star, then keep one charge available in boss encounters to refresh Arbiter before the previous transformation expires.
1/15Defense/Resolve: Aegis brings the Block Chance that makes this setup comfortable in close quarters. Its Stay Resolute upgrade immediately grants eight Resolve stacks, strengthening Glynn's Anvil and supporting the Block Chance and Critical Strike package. It also Taunts nearby enemies, helping keep them close to your orbiting hammers.
Select Duration, Stay Resolute and Cooldown Reduction. Cast Aegis before diving into a hard Elite pack or as your protection begins to wear off. It belongs to the Juggernaut Skill family, so use Falling Star to refresh Arbiter form.
15/15Aura/Offense: Fanaticism Aura improves your attack rhythm, helping Blessed Hammer build damage while you move through enemies. Its active effect is a reliable way to make the surrounding pack Vulnerable, and the resource upgrade makes repeated casts easier to sustain.
Take Extra Passive Stack, Rite of Humility and Resource Generation. Keep its passive bonus active and press the active shortly before a major Blessed Hammer or Arbiter of Justice damage window.
15/15Aura/Defense: Defiance Aura provides Armor and Resistance for the close-range fighting this build needs. Rite of Prayer adds regular healing and supplies Resolve over time, which supports Glynn's Anvil and gives Temerity opportunities to produce Barriers. The active grants Unstoppable when an enemy tries to pin you down.
Choose Bonus Healing, Rite of Prayer and Maximum Life. Keep the healing effect running as you move between packs. Use the active against heavy Crowd Control or when you need room to reposition.
Core Rotation
Start a dungeon with Fanaticism Aura and Defiance Aura active. Use Falling Star to enter the first pack and trigger Arbiter form, then cast Aegis for Block Chance and Resolve. Throw out several Blessed Hammers and move through the group so the orbiting projectiles stay in contact with enemies. Once Argent Veil is equipped, use Arbiter's Evade aggressively: each dash can trigger additional hammers while you reach the next target. Keep an eye on Faith and avoid spending your entire pool after the pack is already dying.
Against Elites and bosses, activate Fanaticism Aura to apply Vulnerable, then use Arbiter of Justice for your main burst. The Light's Epiphany set supplies the additional Ultimates and its powerful Disciple damage bonus. Continue casting Blessed Hammer as long as Faith allows. Hold one Falling Star charge to refresh Arbiter form before it fades, preserving the damage stacks from Aspect of Ascension. Recast Aegis when you need Resolve, and use Defiance Aura's active to break Crowd Control. A boss that moves out of your hammer circle can waste much of your burst, so follow it closely before casting the Ultimate.
Miscellaneous
Paragon Board
Open with Shield Bearer after the Starter Board. It improves the Block Chance foundation that powers Redirected Force, and the added protection is immediately useful once you begin farming higher Torment activities. Castle comes next for damage that benefits from your Armor investment. Herald of Zakarum and Defiance Aura make this board especially valuable.
Continue through Relentless and Beacon. Relentless supports the mobile Arbiter playstyle, while Beacon rewards fighting close to your Mercenary. Prioritize Legendary Nodes and nearby Glyph sockets before traveling to distant minor stat clusters. Build around Strength, Armor, Block Chance, Critical Strike bonuses and enough Maximum Life to withstand close-range hits.
Use the Spirit, Apostle, Canny, Arbiter and Exploit Glyphs. Spirit improves Critical Strike Damage, Apostle benefits your Disciple Skills, and Canny strengthens non-physical damage. Arbiter helps your close-range transformation damage, while Exploit adds another source of Vulnerable scaling. Meet each Glyph's attribute requirement with nearby nodes as you fill out the Boards.
Oath
Choose the Disciple Oath. Casting a Disciple Skill with a Cooldown grants Arbiter form for 4.5 seconds, and Disciple Skills deal 100% increased damage while you are transformed. Falling Star is the key activation tool. Disciple's Halo gives Blessed Hammer the Disciple tag, letting the main attack benefit from the Oath and Light's Epiphany. Ordinary Blessed Hammer casts do not refresh the transformation because that Skill has no Cooldown.
Runes
Igni + Mot provides additional protection by invoking Dark Shroud as you continue casting skills. This is a comfortable pairing for aggressive farming, where you are constantly moving through melee packs.
Cir + Vex is an offensive option that grants extra Skill Ranks as you repeatedly cast. Use one valid two-socket item for each Runeword pair and prioritize a reliable trigger over occasional bursts that arrive too late in a fight.
Talisman
Light's Epiphany is the main set. The two-piece bonus reduces Arbiter of Justice's Cooldown through Disciple damage, and the three-piece bonus gives extra Maximum Life and Movement Speed during Arbiter form. The five-piece effect triggers Heaven's Fury and Fortress alongside Arbiter of Justice, grants a powerful damage increase to Disciple Skills, and briefly replaces your Ultimate with Zenith.
Equip Berú, Fer, Linta, Mlor and Phoba of Light's Epiphany. The sixth Charm is Griswold's Opus, which rewards repeated direct hits with Critical Strike Damage. Favor Blessed Hammer Ranks, Strength, Critical Strike bonuses and Faith-related affixes on your individual Charms.
Mercenary
Use Raheir as your hired Mercenary with Shield Charge, Raheir's Guard, Provoke and Mocking Lure. His defensive support fits a Paladin who spends most of the fight close to enemies. Take Aldkin as Reinforcement with Field of Languish, triggered when you cast a Skill, for extra control during crowded encounters.
Final Thoughts
The Blessed Hammer Paladin is at its best when you stay on the move with a cloud of Holy hammers circling around you. Herald's Morningstar supplies the damage, Argent Veil turns Evade into another attack, and the Disciple Oath keeps the biggest bonuses rolling. Keep Faith Regeneration and Arbiter uptime under control, and even crowded endgame rooms become surprisingly quick work.
