Tornado Shot is the most popular bow skill in Path of Exile. We have decided to make an entirely new variation of this powerful ranged build, which revolve around purely Physical Damage and Crimson Dance's multiple Bleed. It does not differ much in terms of playstyle and item choices compared to the elemental conversion Tornado Shot builds, however, it requires different Gems and is much more visually appealing.

This build also provides solid defenses. It does not rely so heavily on luck with your chances to Evade and Dodge Attacks but instead provides Physical Damage mitigation and Blinds enemies.

You can find our other Path of Exile builds right here Odealo's Crafty Guides - Full List

1. Gameplay

In terms of playstyle, this is a classic ranged/bow build. You are dealing very high Physical Damage from a distance, and your Projectiles also apply multiple stacks of Bleed - each of Tornado Shots and Barrage projectiles can hit the same target, with high chance to inflict our negative status ailment. High Damage over Time allows progressing faster through maps - assuming you do not have to backtrack for valuable loot. In terms of defenses, this is quite solid and well-rounded build, that provides high Life, Physical Damage mitigation from Arctic Armour, uses Blind mechanic (both on Hit effect, and Smoke Cloud) and has a moderate chance to Dodge and Evade attacks.

2. Build's PROS & CONS

PROS
  • very high damage both single target and AoE
  • scales well end-game with proper gear and character level
  • very fast clear speed
  • the most visually appealing Tornado Shot build
  • smooth leveling with bows
CONS
  • not for haemophobic players
  • vulnerable to physical reflect maps
  • unable to facetank Bosses
  • requires two 5/6 linked items for different single-target and AoE DPS skills

3. Leveling tips

Leveling as a Ranger is very easy. Since you are a ranged class, you can focus on your DPS, and fight from a distance, allowing you to survive most of the encounters with ease. There are multiple Bow skills that are good for the early levels. However, all perform more or less the same, and each of them should be replaced with Tornado Shot as soon as it is available for your level.

5. Gear Setup

While Tornado Shot can be fairly enjoyable on a very low budget and is commonly referred to as a very good starter build, in general, it is a rather expensive build.
