Updated for Patch 3.23
Fishing Rods are Two-Handed weapons with a unique pool of modifiers that makes them generally not suited for combat. One could assume Rods are tools to engage in some kind of fishing mini-game, but the existence of it is yet to be documented or observed. Fishing Rods are also a key element in completing the first stage of the Krillson quest - you have to have one equipped while talking with this elusive NPC. Fishing Rods drop from enemies while wearing Fairgraves' Tricorne (except for Reefbane), but there are some Divination Cards that can be exchanged for these weapons, such as The Vast, Baited Expectations, The Catch, or The Old Man. For most players, these items have no use at all, but they hold some value on account of their rarity.
