Time to Hunt Gunslinger Lost Ark Build

Time to Hunt Gunslinger Lost Ark Build

Raiding DPS build for the Gunlancer class which focuses on the long-range abilities

 Time to Hunt Gunslinger
PvE Raiding Build
for Lost Ark

Last Update: 06th May 2022

Introduction

Gunslinger is a very dynamic and extremely versatile fighter capable of effectively engaging enemies at pretty much any distance. Her versatility comes from the three weapons, she utilizes - a pistol, a shotgun, and a rifle. There are two main Gunslinger PvE Raiding Builds, both based on one of Her Class Engravings: PeacemakerPeacemaker and Time to HuntTime to Hunt. The featured build is based on the latter.

Time to HuntTime to Hunt removes one of the Gunslinger's weapons, the Shotgun, which changes how She plays rather significantly: Firstly, She no longer has to engage enemies at point-blank range and can focus on her long-range Skills. And secondly, She has fewer skills to worry about which makes the rotation much easier. The main downside of the Time to Hunt Gunslinger is her lower Damage output when compared to the Peacemaker variant.

Stat Priority

While both Specialization and Swiftness have some value, Crit Rate is, by far, the most valuable stat for a Time to HuntTime to Hunt Gunslinger. The exact percentage you should go for will (as always) depend on your encounter knowledge, gear, chosen engravings, and preference. The two most viable Stat Builds for a Time to Hunt Gunslinger are:

  • Crit Build - Aim for ~60-70% Crit Rate and allocate the rest of your points into Swiftness and/or Specialization.
  • Swiftness/Specialization Build - Spread your stats between Specialization (~40%) and Swiftness (60%). This stat build aims to reduce Cooldowns and increase sustained damage, but it suffers from a low Crit Rate that has to be made up for with Gear and Engravings.

Skills

HANDGUN
METEOR STREAM
METEOR STREAM

Gunslinger fires a volley of bullets into the air, then he controls them to crash into the target location, inflicting high amounts of damage and launching enemies into the air.

This is one of your main offensive Handgun skills. It deals decent damage and can help you during Stagger checks. Moreover, it's quite dynamic and can ignore a portion of the target's defense. Its main downside is a rather long Cooldown.

  • Stagger: Mid
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 10

  1. [Level I] Weak Point Detection Weak Point Detection - Increases the damage dealt to Push-Immune enemies by up to +45% (at Rank 5). This makes the skill hit harder against bosses, as they dent to be push-immune.
  2. [Level II] Piercing Explosion Piercing Explosion - With this, METEOR STREAMMeteor Stream will ignore up to 70% (at Rank 5) of the target's defense.
  3. [Level III] Meteor Fall Meteor Fall -  This makes the skill fire a single shining Starlight Bullet into the air which quickly falls back down. It increases Attack Speed by 20% and outgoing Damage up to +95% (at Rank 5).
  4. [RUNE] any
EQUILIBRIUM
EQUILIBRIUM

Gunslinger fires her handgun across a broad area, dealing moderate amounts of damage to all enemies who find themselves in range.

Equilibrium is your most convenient source of the Weakness Exposure Weakness Exposure debuff (when applied with it, the debuff lasts for 12 seconds), but it has a relatively long Cooldown.

  • Attack Type: Back Attack

Level 10

  1. [Level I] Weakness Exposure Weakness Exposure - Enemies hit with EQUILIBRIUMEquilibrium receive a 10% Crit Resistance penalty against attacks from all Party Members for 12 seconds. This is a solid party-wide synergy.
  2. [Level II] Decimation Shot Decimation Shot - Decreases Rapid Fire's range. Increases its attacking time. Damage boosted up to +95.2% (at Rank 5). This trades the skill's attack speed for additional damage, which is worth it.
  3. [Level III] Burn Effect Burn Effect - On hit, sets the target on fire, inflicting Fire Damage every second for 5 seconds. This effect can stack up to 7 times.
  4. [RUNE] any
BULLET RAIN
BULLET RAIN

Gunslinger fires her handgun forward for 2 seconds to deal high amounts of Damage.

This powerful Skill synergizes very well with the Time to HuntTime to Hunt Engraving and all other Crit Chance boosters (thanks to its Flame ShotFlame Shot Tripod). As a result, it deals a lot of Damage for a Handgun skill and will slightly improve your Stagger Damage potential.

  • Stagger: Low
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

  1. [Level I] Ambush Ambush - Increases Back Attack Damage dealt by the skill by up to +60% (at Rank 5).

AT02 GRENADE
AT02 GRENADE

Gunslinger throws a grenade at the target location within 10 meters of her, dealing minor amounts of damage.

This neat AoE ability will be your way of applying Bleed to groups of trash mobs. Thanks to its low cooldown, you will be able to maintain it for as long as it is needed.

Level 17

  1. [Level I] Magick Control Magick Control - Reduces the skill's Mana cost by 50%, making it much more economical to use.
  2. [Level II] Enhanced Grenade Enhanced Grenade - Increases the Grenade's outgoing Damage by up to +80% (at Rank 5). This pairs well with the skill's low Cooldown.
  3. [RUNE] BleedBleed -  This Rune makes AT02 GRENADEAT02 Grenade inflict all enemies hit with a Bleeding effect for 6 seconds. Thanks to AT02 GRENADEAT02 Grenade's low cooldown, Bleed provides a nice boost to DPS, especially against trash mobs.
DEXTEROUS SHOT
DEXTEROUS SHOT

Gunslinger moves 6 meters as she glides and fires her handgun 4 times to inflict minor amounts of Damage to nearby enemies. This Skill can be used up to two times in a row.

This is one of three Debuffing Skills in your arsenal. It can be used as a mobility tool, if needed, as well. In this build, it also serves as a trigger for your JudgementJudgement Rune.

  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 7

  1. [Level I] Weakness Exposure Weakness Exposure - Enemies hit with DEXTEROUS SHOTDexterous Shot receive a 10% Crit Resistance penalty against attacks from all Party Members for 8 seconds. This is a solid party-wide synergy.
  2. [Level II] Excellent Mobility Excellent Mobility  - Increases the skill's move distance, making it more useful as a mobility tool.
  3. [RUNE] JudgementJudgement - Has a 40% chance (Legendary) to remove "Conviction" from you and increase your Combat Resource recovery and reduce Skill Cooldown for 6 seconds.
QUICK STEP
QUICK STEP

Gunslinger slides 6 meters forward and fires her handgun to deal moderate amounts of damage.

This will give you a nice mobility boost. Also, using this skill will give you a slight Attack and Movement Speed buff for 4 seconds.

  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 4

  1. [Level I] Life Absorption Life Absorption - A successful hit with QUICK STEPQuick Step now also increases the user's Move and Attack Speed by 5% for 4 seconds (at Rank 1) and reduces the target's Move and Attack Speed by 5% for 4 seconds (at Rank 1).
  2. [RUNE] RageRage - Gives you a chance to gain an Attack Speed/Move Speed buff for 6 seconds after QUICK STEPQuick Step is used. This Rune will help you increase the speed of your rotation.
PEACEKEEPER
PEACEKEEPER

Gunslinger fires her handgun forward to inflict minor amounts of Damage. Then, if you press the Colbo key, She fires her handgun in a burst to inflict another portion of Damage. If you input another Combo, She will also perform a kick and then fire her handgun rapidly to inflict moderate amounts of damage. The direction of this skill can be changed upon hitting the Combo key. Moreover, the first hit of this skill allows Gunslinger to perform a Counter Attack.

This has two purposes. Firstly, it serves as your Counter Attack. Secondly, it can be used as a Mobility Skill.

  • Attack Type: Frontal Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 4

  1. [Level I] Excellent Mobility Excellent Mobility - With this Tripod, Gunslinger will charge forward 6 meters when attacking with PEACEKEEPERPeacekeeper
  2. [RUNE] any
RIFLE
FOCUSED SHOT
FOCUSED SHOT

Gunslinger fires her rifle two times to inflict moderate amounts of damage with each shot. Then, she fires a high-caliber bullet to deal high amounts of damage and knock down enemies.

FOCUSED SHOTFocused Shot offers a rather large AoE that can be helpful when fighting against trash mobs. Moreover, just like other Rifle Skills, it can be used from a relatively safe distance.

  • Weak Point: Level 1
  • Stagger: Mid
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 12

  1. [Level I] Quick Aim Quick Aim - Decreases aiming time, making Focused Shot much more dynamic. With this, the skill's animation lock becomes more forgiving.
  2. [Level II] Double Tap Double Tap  - Before the last shot, fire 1 special bullet inflicting 10% of Base Damage. The special bullet will only hit 1 foe and will not pierce them. During Kill Confirmation, on hit. Damage +110.0% (at Rank 5).
  3. [Level III] Final Strike Final Strike - The charge-up time for Kill Confirmation increases for the final blow. AoE Radius +280% (at Rank 5). Foes directly hit take +200.0% Damage. Foes hit on the side will receive the same Damage as the Kill Confirmation. With Weak Point and Flash, the Stun Effect only applies to direct hits.
  4. [RUNE] GalewindGalewind - Increase the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster, making it even better at dealing damage.
Target Down
TARGET DOWN

Gunslinger enters a snipe stance with 3 bullets. Each of the bullets can be carefully aimed and shot to deal high amounts of damage. The duration of the snipe stance lasts up to 2.5 seconds.

This potent DPS skill is one of your three main damage sources with a Rifle. It can be fired from a long range, so you can stay relatively safe while using it.

  • Stagger: Mid
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 12

  1. [Level I] Quick Aim Quick Aim - Increases aim speed. With this, Target DownTarget Down is much quicker to use.
  2. [Level II] Large Magazine Large Magazine  - Shots fired +4. Last shot's outgoing Damage +150.0% (at Rank 5). With this Tripod, Target DownTarget Down lets you fire a barrage of carefully aimed devastating shots.
  3. [Level III] Steady Aim Steady Aim - On a direct hit, outgoing Damage +80.0%. This provides a nice damage increase to the skill.
  4. [RUNE] GalewindGalewind - Increase the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster, making it even better at dealing damage.
PERFECT SHOT
PERFECT SHOT

Gunslinger fires a high-speed large-caliber projectile to inflict moderate amounts of damage. She can hit the Perfect Zone to also knock enemies back and deal an additional devastating blow.

As far as Rifle Skills go, this skill deals mediocre... unless the target is below 50% Health - then it starts to shine. You will be using it as a part of your standard DPS rotation

  • Weak Point: Level 1
  • Stagger: Low

Level 12

  1. [Level I] Stable Stance Stable Stance - During skill use, gain Paralysis Immunity. This makes PERFECT SHOTPerfect Shot much more reliable.
  2. [Level II] Kill Confirmation Kill Confirmation - On Perfect Zone hit, inflicts +960.0% Damage (at Rank 5) to foes with 50.0% HP or less. This turns Perfect Shot into an Execute-type Skill.

  4. [RUNE] GalewindGalewind - Increase the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster, making it even better at dealing damage.
CATASTROPHE
CATASTROPHE

Gunslinger throws a Claymore at the target location and detonates it, dealing high amounts of damage and launching all affected enemies into the air.

The main downside of being locked from using Shotgun skills is the lack of Stagger. With this skill, we try to fix that. Use this during Stagger checks.

  • Weak Point: Level 1
  • Stagger: Mid
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 7

  1. [Level I] Quick Aim Quick Aim - Reduces the Field Selection time by 20%, making the skill more dynamic.
  2. [Level II] Concussion Concussion - Increases the skill's Stagger Damage Level to Mid-High. This is a mush-have as CATASTROPHECatastrophe's primary purpose is to help you with Stagger checks.
  3. [RUNE] OverwhelmOverwhelm - A rune that makes the Skill deal up to +30% Stagger Damage (Legendary). This will help you help your team with stagger checks.
AWAKENING
HIGH-CALIBER HE BULLET
HIGH-CALIBER HE BULLET

Gunslinger aims at her foe in the front while quickly moving backward and firing a single bullet. The bullet creates a large Rear Blast to inflict massive amounts of Damage to all enemies in the vicinity.

This is more consistent than the Eye of TwilightEye of Twilight because it lets you hit agile targets easier thanks to its faster attack animation.

  • Stagger: Highest

Priority List/ Skill Usage

  • Dexterous ShotDexterous Shot and Spiral TrackerSpiral Tracker are your sources of ConvictionConviction and JudgementJudgement
  • If you need extra mobility, you should swap to your Pistol as Quick StepQuick Step, Dexterous ShotDexterous Shot, and PeacekeeperPeacekeeper can all be used for dashing around.
  • Quick StepQuick Step is a handy source of a self-buff; don't forget to refresh it as often as possible.
  • EquilibriumEquilibrium, Dexterous ShotDexterous Shot, and Spiral TrackerSpiral Tracker are your team synergy skills. You should use them to maintain the Weakness ExposureWeakness Exposure debuff on the boss. Your aim is to keep this active at all times.
  • CatastropheCatastrophe is your main tool for dealing with stagger mechanics.

Your main Skill Rotation looks as follows:

  1. Debuff the Target with Weakness ExposureWeakness Exposure by using EquilibriumEquilibrium, Dexterous ShotDexterous Shot, or Spiral TrackerSpiral Tracker. Rotate between the skills to maintain the debuff. If ConvictionConviction Triggers from Spiral TrackerSpiral Tracker, follow it up with Dexterous ShotDexterous Shot to activate JudgementJudgement
  2. Use Quick StepQuick Step to buff yourself with Life Absorption Life Absorption
  3. Swap to your Rifle and Use the following Skill Sequence:
    1. Target Down Target Down
    2. Focused Shot Focused Shot
    3. Perfect Shot Perfect Shot
  4. Swap back to your Handgun, Rinse and Repeat

Recommended Engravings

  1. Time to HuntTime to Hunt (Class Engraving) - Increases your Crit Rate by (Level 1: 20%, Level 2: 25%, Level 3: 30%) for Rifle and Handgun Skills, but prevents you from using Shotguns.

This is the core Engraving of this build and we build pretty much everything else around it. It effectively simplifies your rotation and ensures that your attacks land Crits a lot of the time.

  1. PeacemakerPeacemaker (Class Engraving) - Attack Speed in Handgun Stance (Level 1: +8%, Level 2: +12%, Level 3: +16%). Crit Rate in Shotgun Stance (Level 1: +15%, Level 2: +20%, Level 3: + 25%). Damage to foes +10% and additional Damage (Level 1: +10%, Level 2: +20%, Level 3: +30%) to targets with 50% or lower HP for 9s while in Rifle Stance.

This is simply too good to pass up as it not only gives you Attack Speed for Pistol Skills but also increases your Damage Delt with Rifle Skills (and it does that without any drawbacks). Having this at Level 1 is definitely enough, though, as other combat Engravings offer better boosts at higher levels.

  1. GrudgeGrudge - Increases your Damage Dealt to Bosses (Level 1: +4%, Level 2: +10%, Level 3: +20%), but makes you take 20% more damage from them.

This Engraving is extremely powerful, but it will punish you if you make a mistake. Gunslinger is very squishy already and this will make her even more susceptible to the incoming damage. Pick it up only if you feel like you can avoid most (or all) avoidable damage during boss encounters. If you're still learning mechanics, you'll be better off skipping it (it's only worth using at Level 3 and becomes necessary for Tier 3 content, anyway).

  1. AdrenalineAdrenaline - When using skills other than mobile and basic attacks, attack power increases by (Lv. 1: 0.3%, Lv. 2: 0.6%, Lv. 3: 1%) for 6 seconds (stacks up to 6), and when this effect reaches its maximum stack, critical hit rate increases by an additional (Lv. 1: 5%, Lv. 2: 10%, Lv. 3: 15%). This effect is applied after the skill ends if the cooldown time reduction due to skill cancellation is applied.

Thanks to the sheer number of skills you rotate through with this build, AdrenalineAdrenaline is a perfect choice - you should be able to stack it up with ease. You should have this at Level 2 at least.

  1. Keen Blunt Weapon Keen Blunt Weapon - Increases your Crit Damage (Level 1: +10%, Level 2: +25%, Level 3: +50%) but also gives your attacks a chance to deal 20% Reduced Damage.

The more Critical Chance you have, the more beneficial this is. If you plan on using it, you should aim for (at least) ~75% Critical Rate.

  1. Cursed DollCursed Doll - Increases Attack Power at the cost of reduced 25% Healing Received (does not affect natural Health recovery (Level 1 - +3% Attack Power, Level 2 - 8% Attack Power, Level 3 - +16% Attack Power).

This Engraving can increase your overall DPS rather significantly, but the tradeoff is painful. Only pick it if you are able to avoid most of the incoming damage; If you lack experience, skip it. Also, using this at Levels 1 and 2 is not worth the risks involved (so, use it at Level 3 or don't use it at all).

  1. Hit MasterHit Master - Increases the damage of attacks that do not correspond to back attack or front attack by (Level 1: 3%, Level 2: 8%, Level 3: 16%). This effect does not apply to Awakenings.

Most of the Skills you will be using as a Time to Hunt Gunslinger don't have any positional requirements. Because of this, Hit MasterHit Master is very strong for the build. It effectively gives you the same effect as Cursed DollCursed Doll, but without the drawback, so you can pick it over the Cursed DollCursed Doll as a safer option.

Gear Sets, Gems, Cards, etc.

  • Gear Sets - As a DPS Class, Time to Hunt Gunslinger wants her set to boost her offensive capabilities as much as possible. Here are the optimal Sets for each Tier:
    • Tier 1: Seraphic Oath Set (Epic); Boisterous Elemental Set (Legendary)
    • Tier 2: Marvelous Earth Set (Epic); Unyielding Will Set (Legendary)
    • Tier 3: Twisted Dimensional Set (Epic); Preordained Diligence Set (Legendary for Swiftness/Specialization build); Harsh Oath Set (Legendary for Crit build)
  • Gems -  With these, you can apply a Cooldown Reduction or Bonus Damage to your Skills. There is a limit of 11 Gems; you should distribute them in the following way:
    • You should use Cooldown Reduction Gems on the following Skills: Target DownTarget Down, Focused ShotFocused ShotPerfect ShotPerfect Shot, Bullet RainBullet Rain, Meteor StreamMeteor Stream, Quick StepQuick Step
    • You should use Attack Gems on the following Skills: Perfect ShotPerfect Shot, Target DownTarget Down, Focused ShotFocused ShotBullet RainBullet RainMeteor StreamMeteor Stream
  • Cards - Depending on your budget, you should go for one of the following Card Sets:
    • Light of Salvation Set - A Full set offers +30% Dark Damage Reduction, changes your Damage type to Holy, and increases your Holy Damage dealt by 15%.
    • Lostwind Cliff Set - A Full set offers +25% Dark Damage Reduction and +7% Critical Rate. This one is the budget Card Set choice.
