The Best Paladin Support Raid Build for Lost Ark
Optimal setup for Raiding as Paladin Support character in Lost ArkSupport Paladin
PvE Raiding Build
for Lost Ark
Last Update: 10 March 2022
Introduction
Paladin is, alongside the Bard, one of two support Classes in Lost Ark. Of the two, Paladin is, by far, the more resilient and forgiving, but His raw healing capabilities are lower and his mana regeneration buff is less effective than Bard's. Instead, Paladin focuses on damage prevention with damage-reducing skills which he uses on allies. He has access to two kinds of skills: Holy Aura and Sacred Executioner. In a support build, you'll mainly be using the former to bolster teammates with a damage buff and Heal over Time effects. Thanks to the high uptime of his buffs, Paladin works especially well with classes focused on sustained DPS. Mana-hungry Classes, like Gunlancer and Wardancer, however, lose out when teamed up with a Paladin instead of a Bard.

Stat Priority
| As a Support Class, Paladin focuses on Specialization and Swiftness. The exact ratio of these two is up to one's preference and should mostly depend on the playstyle. The two most popular Stat builds for a Paladin are as follows: |
|
Skills
![]() GODSENT LAW |
Summons a magic circle of light that deals high amounts of damage, over 2 seconds, to every enemy caught in it. When upgraded with the recommended Tripods, this skill will also serve as a powerful, high AoE, defensive tool that will protect your teammates very reliably over the course of combat. Moreover, its third Tripod turns it into a life-saver with an extremely powerful -70% incoming Damage effect.

Level 10
|
|
![]() HEAVENLY BLESSINGS |
Summon the Solar Guardian that inflicts high amounts of damage to all nearby enemies. The Solar Guardian also blesses all party members within its 24 meters range. Lowers Damage Received by 20% for 8 seconds. After Tripod upgrades, this skill serves as a Damage and Mana recovery buff that also provides a substantial boost to your Gauge's uptime. |
|
Level 12
|
|
![]() WRATH OF GOD |
A powerful AoE Skill that calls forth the energy of sacred thunder into Paladin's Weapon and inflicts high amounts of AoE damage in a large area. With the recommended Tripods, Wrath of God will not only boost your Piety Meter by a lot, but it will also provide a Damage buff similar to the one given by Heavenly Blessings (these two don't stack!). |
|
Level 12
|
|
![]() LIGHT SHOCK |
Paladin grips his sword in both hands and unleashes a shockwave of light that inflicts medium amounts of Damage in a straight line. While this Skill can feel rather underwhelming by itself, one of its Tripods makes it debuff its targets with a devastating +10% Damage Taken effect. The effect lasts for 6 seconds and the ability has an 8-second baseline cooldown, which means that you should be able to re-apply this constantly for a 100% uptime.
|
|
Level 11
|
|
![]() HOLY PROTECTION |
Paladin uses the power of divine light to create a protective barrier around every party member within 24 meters for 6 seconds. The barrier's Health is equal to 11% (on Rank 1) of the affected party member Max HP. This is a solid AoE protection skill that, with proper Tripods, also improves the party's mobility, cleanses all party members from harmful effects, and heals them for a minor amount. |
|
Level 10
|
|
![]() HOLY SWORD |
Paladin gathers Light Energy into his sword and thrusts it at his foes to inflict medium amounts of damage. Light will also stream out of the sword, inflicting further harm. Thanks to the Outburst of Light Tripod, this skill is a great tool for Counter Attacking bosses from a distance - use it for just that.
|
|
Level 12
|
|
![]() EXECUTOR'S SWORD |
A Combo skill that allows the Paladin to rapidly swing upward, inflicting medium amounts of damage and launching foes in the air. The second part of the Combo makes the Paladin gather all his strength and lead out a devastating follow-up blow. When augmented with recommended Tripods, this powerful offensive skill deals a lot of extra damage, exploits the enemy's weak points, and offers some extra mobility.

Level 12

|
![]() CHARGE |
Makes the Paladin charge forward and inflict solid damage with a stabbing attack. For the build's purposes, this is mainly used as a mobility skill. The recommended Tripods turn the Charge into a reliable defensive tool that makes you advance 10 meters and protects you with a shield in the process.
|
|
Level 7
|
|
| AWAKENING | |
![]() ALITHANES'S JUDGMENT |
Paladin jumps up and unleashes a holy light that shines towards his target location for an attack that can penetrate through even guardian monsters. This skill inflicts extremely high damage to all enemies who surround the Paladin and creates a powerful defensive barrier (80% of Max HP) for all party members for 10 seconds. You can effectively double your whole party's Health with this skill, which is simply insane as it allows them to simply ignore some raid mechanics. Note: As an Awakening skill, Alithanes's Judgment has a very long Cooldown (300 seconds base) and its usage should be discussed with teammates to avoid disagreements. Wasting this can easily lead to a wipe.

Pros
Cons

Shield - Creates a protective shield with 10% of Max HP (at Rank 1) for all party members within range. The Shield lasts for 5.0 seconds. This Tripod turns Godsent Law into a potent AoE protective skill.
Wide-Angle Attack - Increases AoE Radius of Godsent Law by +30%. This Tripod works exceptionally well with the Skill's other augments and allows you can protect your teammates more reliably (without it, positioning yourself properly can be very problematic).
Grace - A powerful blessing that reduces all incoming Damage for all Party members within Godsend Law's range by 70% for 1 second. When timed properly, this can save your teammates from otherwise lethal Boss mechanics.
Protection - With this Rune, you'll receive 8% of your Max HP as a Shield while casting Godsent Law. This is quite important, as you're quite vulnerable while using the skill.
Inexhaustible Faith - Your Piety Meter increases by +50% on hit while you're in Normal State. This gives a considerable boost to your Holy Aura's uptime which translates directly to the whole party's increased damage output.
Valor - Grants +15% of your Attack Power to all party members within 24 meters radius for 8 seconds. Overall Attack Power +6%. With this, Heavenly Blessings serve as a solid party-wide DPS buff.
Absolute Blessing - At Rang 5, this increases the Mana Regeneration Rate of all party members within 24 meters radius by 50%. The effect lasts for 8 seconds. While this is not as powerful as Bard's Mana Regen buff, it should be enough for most classes.
Wealth - With this Rune, your Piety Meter gain from using the ability will be increased by another 30%. This is a rather significant buff to your Holy Aura's uptime.
Wide Thunderstroke - Increases Wrath of God's AoE Radius by +20%, making it much more reliable as an offensive buff. Picking this up should solve some of Paladin's positioning-related problems.
Faith - At Rank 5, this Tripod increases Wrath of God's Piety Meter generation by +150% on hit while in Normal State. Pick this up to increase your Holy Aura's uptime.
Express Fury - Grants +15% of your Attack Power to all party members within 24 meters radius for 8 seconds. Overall Attack Power +6%. With this, Wrath of God serves as a solid party-wide DPS buff.
Swift Fingers - With this, Light Shock creates its shockwave much quicker which reduces the chances of missing to a minimum.
Light's Vestige - Makes you inflict Light's Vestige on foes damaged by Light Shock. Light's Vestige is a debuff that increases Damage received from all Party members by 10% for 6 seconds.
Powerful Shock - Creates a shockwave of powerful light. Inflicts +100.0% Damage. It Doubles Light Shock's damage, which is nice considering the ability's low cooldown.
Bleed - This Rune makes Light Shock inflict all enemies hit with a Bleeding effect for 6 seconds. It provides a nice boost to DPS, especially against trash mobs.
Quick Pace - At Rank 5, this increases the movement speed of all shielded party members by +24.6% for the duration of the shield. Increasing the whole party's movement speed makes doing Raid mechanics while keeping the DPS up much easier.
Purify - Removes the latest harmful effect cast on all party members within 24 meters. This is an AoE cleansing effect that comes in handy in multiple Boss encounters. It should be swapped for the Robust Protection Tripod for fights that don't feature threatening debuffs.
Vow of Light - This makes the Shield heal its bearers for 8% (Rank 1) of their Max HP when it's deactivated, but it increases the Cooldown by 10 seconds. Paladin lacks healing, so this is mandatory (especially because the alternative Tripod is an offensive boost that does not increase your support capabilities).
Focus - This Rune lowers the skill's Mana consumption by quite a lot, making it much more cost-effective.
Positioning - This Tripod decreases Holy Sword's charge-up time (by -18% at Rank 5), which makes aiming with the skill much easier. It works especially well with Outburst of Light.
Outburst of Light - Emits Divine Light even if the attack fails. Emitted light inflicts slightly lowered Damage (and the same damage at Rank 5). This allows you to Counter Attack bosses from a considerable distance.
Release Light - The repeatedly fired light inflicts +119.6% Damage. Per foe hit, Cooldown -1s up to -8s (at Rank 5). This offers a significant damage boost to the skill and a nice cooldown reduction.
Overwhelm - A rune that makes the Skill deal +30% Stagger Damage. In a stagger-heavy party, this is great.
Holy Area for encounters that don't feature too much Destruction and Stagger mechanics. If replaced, use the following Tripods:
Quick Preparation,
Excellent Mobility - During skill use, attack while moving forward 4 meters. This gives you some extra mobility that can be used offensively or defensively.
Weak Point Enhancement - Weak Point Lv. +1. With this, you will be able to better exploit the boss's weak points.
Executioner's Strike - Deliver an additional strong downward attack at the ground inflicting 145.0% (Rank 5) of the total Damage. This Tripod greatly boosts the skill's damage.
Shinning Protection - When charging, create a shield with 15% (Rank 1) of your Max HP for 3 seconds. The charge is not meant as an offensive skill, so this is an excellent Tripod choice for it.
Quick Recharge - Gives a chance to reduce all Cooldowns on skill use.
Blessed Aura (Class Engraving) - Improves Healing and Damage Reduction of Paladin's
Awakening - Reduces the Cooldown of your Awakening Skill. This is another must-have as Awakening Skills fill up Piety Meter (which equals to higher Holy Aura uptime) and allow you to turn tides of any battle. You should have this on Level 3 - Core Engraving.
Expert - This improves your
Judgment - Makes your Punishment Skills generate more Piety Meter. This will increase your
Heavy Armor - Improves Survivability by increasing your Defense. The armor gained from this Engraving is not affected by armor shedding debuffs, which helps when you get caught off-guard by certain mechanics.
Drops of Ether - Generates Drops that can be picked up by your Teammates. These Drops grant Mana Regen, Attack Damage, Critical Strike, Movement Speed, or Attack Speed buffs. While solid, this Engraving can be extremely infuriating if your teammates decide to ignore the Drops.
Vital Point Hit - Increases your Stagger Damage Done. This one is quite situational, but it can help during encounters with difficult Stagger checks.
