Taijutsu Scrapper Lost Ark Build

Taijutsu Scrapper Lost Ark Build

Taijutsu Scrapper build that primarily focuses on Stamina Skills to deal devastating damage

Taijutsu Scrapper
PvE Raiding Build
for Lost Ark

Last Update: 21st April 2022

Introduction

Scrapper is one of the four currently available Martial Artist Advanced Classes. She shares many similarities with her peers but also offers a lot of unique flavors. If we were to describe Her in one sentence, we'd say that she is an aggressive and mobile but also deliberate and squishy close-range combatant who values offensive power over protection. She has access to two raiding builds, based on two different Class Engravings: Shock TrainingShock Training and Ultimate Skill: TaijutsuUltimate Skill: Taijutsu. We've based the following build on the latter.

Taijutsu Scrapper's kit mainly consists of Stamina Skills. As a result, she is extremely mobile, can easily react to a rapidly changing situation, and offers some of the best Counter Attack, Stagger, and Part Break potentials in the game. Thanks to the increased Stamina generation, Her Identity Gauge management is extremely simple (there's almost no management at all, actually) and allows for a much more aggressive playstyle. While the range of her attacks is limited, she uses skills that make her move forward which makes sticking close to even the most mobile of targets surprisingly easy, however, this does not fully substitute for the complete lack of ranged skills and narrow skill hitboxes she suffers from.

Stat Priority

Scrapper benefits mostly from Crit Rate, but Swistness is also of use to her. Specialization is a waste because it does not affect Stamina Skills that represent the bulk of this build's skill set. Because of this, you should aim for ~70% Crit/30% Swiftness stat spread. To achieve it, use Crit on all of your Accssories and get a Crit/Swiftness Necklace. Once you reach Tier 3 and get some high-end crit-oriented gear, you can shift your stat distribution a bit more toward Swiftness (50/50 Crit/Swiftness split). If you do so, don't forget to also get the AdrenalineAdrenaline Engraving, as it works very well with high Swiftness and makes the shift actually worth it.

Skills

DRAGON ADVENT
DRAGON ADVENT

Scrapper focuses her Fire energy to leap to the target location within 10 meters of her, attacking enemies for high amounts of Damage and knocking them down.

This amazing skill will serve as your gap closer, but not only that - it will also come in handy during Stagger Checks as it deals a lot of Stagger Damage. Moreover, it hits very, very hard, especially for a "mobility" skill. All in all, this is one of the most universal skills in the entire game.

  • Stagger: Mid-High
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 12

  1. [Level I] Moment of Truth Moment of Truth - Increases the skill's Stamina Consumption by 10 and its Outgoing Damage by up to +60% (at Rank 5). With Ultimate Skill: TaijutsuUltimate Skill: Taijutsu additional Stamina cost becomes negligible, so this is just free damage.
  2. [Level II] Conflagration Attack Conflagration Attack - After Scrapper finishes the downward attack, a flame curtain is created around her. The curtain deals Fire Damage to all surrounding enemies every second for 6 seconds. With this, your Sustained DPS will get noticeably higher.
  3. [Level III] Great Destruction Great Destruction - Increases the skill's single-target Damage by up to +95% (at Rank 5). Whis wins out with the alternative, as single-target damage is what you need for boss encounters.
  4. [RUNE] BleedBleed -  This Rune makes DRAGON ADVENTDragon Advent inflict all enemies hit with a Bleeding effect for 6 seconds. Thanks to DRAGON ADVENTDragon Advent's relatively low cooldown, Bleed provides a nice boost to DPS.
INSTANT HIT
INSTANT HIT

Scrapper lands a flashing strike on her opponents, inflicting moderate amounts of damage and stunning enemies for 3 seconds.

This is your only skill with the Frontal Attack modifier (which makes it a bit awkward to use sometimes) and your Counter Attack. With the Tracking InstinctTracking Instinct, the skill also makes you perform a small dash, which will be helpful in some situations (it also makes landing a hit, on a mobile enemy, with it much easier).

  • Attack Type: Frontal Attack
  • Counter: Yes

Level 12

  1. [Level I] Wide Hit Wide Hit - Increases the skill's AoE radius by 20%. This makes the skill a bit more versatile and convenient to use.
  2. [Level II] Counter Effect Counter Effect - Removes the Stun effect and replaces it with an increase in damage dealt to push-immune enemies (+387% at Rank 5). Bosses are push-immune, so this offers an amazing DPS boost. Thanks to this Engraving, Scrapper is one of the most potent Counter Attackers in the game.
  3. [Level III] Tracking Instinct Tracking Instinct - This makes you advance 4 meters towards the target location when you use the skill.
  4. [RUNE] Quick RechargeQuick Recharge - Gives a chance to reduce all Cooldowns on skill use.
EARTHQUAKE CHAIN
EARTHQUAKE CHAIN

Scrapper stomps the ground, dealing high amounts of Damage to all nearby enemies and knocking them down.

This is a solid offensive skill that deals decent Stagger Damage very quickly (especially when paired with the GalewindGalewind Rune). It also is one of just a few AoE damage sources you have access to with this build.

  • Stagger: Mid
  • Attack Type: Back Attack

Level 12

  1. [Level I] Undying Power Undying Power - Changes the skill's Element to Fire and makes Fire energy surge inside the Scrapper, gathering at her Feet. On downward kick hit, She will now also Burn enemies, inflicting Fire Damage every second for 5 seconds. This effect stacks up to 3 times.
  2. [Level II] Blindside Blindside - Makes the Scrapper spin around once and perform a powerful downward attack. Damage to foes is increased by up to +80% (at Rank 5) if the attack is a direct hit.
  3. [Level III] Powerful Earthquake Powerful Earthquake -  Scrapper causes an explosion briefly after her last downward attack in the same location, inflicting additional Damage equal to 94,8% (at Rank 5) of the skill's Base Damage.
  4. [RUNE] GalewindGalewind - Increase the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster, making it much more dynamic.
BATTERING FISTS
BATTERING FISTS

Scrapper throws a punch to inflict moderate amounts of damage. You can Hold the skill hotkey for up to 1 second to make her launch a flurry of jabs to attack enemies 6 additional times and then dash 2 meters forward, inflicting another hit, followed by a hook that deals high amounts of Damage.

This is one of your most powerful offensive moves - you should always try to capitalize on its Back Attack modifier because of this. It deals solid Stagger Damage and gives you Paralysis Immunity for its duration. Moreover, it makes you move forward by a bit which makes landing hits on a mobile enemy much easier.

  • Weak Point: Level 1
  • Stagger: Mid-High
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 12

  1. [Level I] Capture Opportunity Capture Opportunity - Scrapper's Gauntlets shine as she delivers the advancing hook with the opposite hand. Last attack's Damage +113% (at Rank 5).
  2. [Level II] Red Explosion Red Explosion - Increases the skill's Jab Damage to Push-Immune Enemies by up to +175% (at Rank 5). Bosses are push-immune, so this offers an amazing DPS boost during boss encounters.
  3. [Level III] Berserk Berserk - Changes the multi-jabs to a flurry of sharp two-handed strikes. The skill's total Damage is increased by up to +175% (at Rank 5).
  4. [RUNE] GalewindGalewind - Increase the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster, making it much more dynamic.
IRON CANNON BLOW
IRON CANNON BLOW

Scrapper lands an elbow strike that inflicts moderate amounts of damage. Then, she turns around to strike again, inflicting another damaging hit. Use the skill again to make her land powerful punches while she moves slightly forward, inflicting high amounts of damage.

This is another one of your powerful "holding" offensive attacks (besides Battering FistsBattering Fists) - you should always try to capitalize on its Back Attack modifier. Thanks to the Quick Preparation Quick Preparation Tripod, it has a very low Cooldown.

  • Weak Point: Level 1
  • Stagger: Mid
  • Attack Type: Back Attack

Level 12

  1. [Level I] Overflowing Power Overflowing Power - The last punch discharges Stamina energy from Scrapper's fist. Skill's Damage increased by up to +85% (at Rank 5).
  2. [Level II] Quick PreparationQuick Preparation  - Reduces the skill's Cooldown by up to -7s (at Rank 5). This potentially cuts almost 1/2 of IRON CANNON BLOWIron Cannon Blow's base Cooldown, which is massive.
  3. [Level III] Advance Enhancement Advance Enhancement - Increases the skill's move distance by +1,4 meters and its Attack Speed by 20%. Last Attack's Damage to Push-Immune enemies is also massively increased. This is a solid Tripod to take in a raid-oriented build because Bosses tend to be push-immune and will receive increased damage as a result.
  4. [RUNE] GalewindGalewind - Increase the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster, making it much more dynamic.
ROUNDUP SWEEP
ROUNDUP SWEEP

Scrapper throws a diagonal punch to inflict moderate amounts of Damage.

This is a specialty skill that we choose to increase the build's Counter Attack potential and Stagger Damage even further. If you play in a static group that already has enough Counter and Stagger sources, you can pick Death RattleDeath Rattle instead.

  • Stagger: Low
  • Attack Type: Frontal Attack
  • Counter: Yes

Level 12

  1. [Level I] Swift PreparationSwift Preparation - This gives you up to 83% (at Rank 5) of resetting cooldown with a successful Crit Hit. This can potentially result in a devastating sequence of Counter Attacks or Stagger hits.
  2. [Level II] Madman Madman - Scrapper swings her fists along a 30% longer trajectory to inflict additional Damage equal to 60% (at Rank 5) of Base Damage.
  3. [Level III] Reinforced HitReinforced Hit - Scrapper bends over and punches forward with her fist. A giant fist appears in the back to jab along with her. The skill's Outgoing Damage +58,6% (at Rank 5).
  4. [RUNE] RageRage - Gives you a chance to gain an Attack Speed/Move Speed buff for 6 seconds when ROUNDUP SWEEPRoundup Sweep is used. This Rune will help you increase the speed of your rotation.
CHARGING BLOW
CHARGING BLOW

Scrapper quickly charges to inflict 3 damaging hits, then, she lands a strike with her gauntlet, inflicting yet another damaging hit.

This is a solid mobility skill with an extremely short Cooldown (5 seconds base). Because of it, Taijutsu Scrapper is one of the most nimble Character Builds in the game. Use it to quickly engage, disengage, dodge incoming attacks, and buff yourself with Ready AttackReady Attack

  • Weak Point: Level 1
  • Stagger: Low
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 10

  1. [Level I] Ready AttackReady Attack - Scrapper becomes agitated. Her Downward Attack's Power is increased for 3 seconds.
  2. [Level II] Stone Fist Stone Fist - Downward attack‘s AoE range +70 0% and pulls enemies to the Scrapper's location.
  3. [Level III] Death Bond Death Bond - Increases the skill's Attack Speed by 20% and its Damage to Push-Immune enemies by up to +70% (at Rank 5).
  4. [RUNE] RageRage - Gives you a chance to gain an Attack Speed/Move Speed buff for 6 seconds when CHARGING BLOWCharging Blow is used. This Rune will help you increase the speed of your rotation.
JUDGEMENT
JUDGEMENT

Scrapper leaps into the air and strikes down, inflicting moderate amounts of Damage. Enemies on the ground take an additional damaging hit from this skill and are knocked down.

This is your source of team synergy as it applies the Amplified Damage Amplified Damage on the target. You should try to maintain this on the boss by using the skill every 8 seconds.

  • Weak Point: Level 1
  • Stagger: Mid
  • Attack Type: Frontal Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 4

  1. [Level I] Amplified Damage Amplified Damage - On hit, Judgement increases Damage taken by foes from all Party Members by +6% for 8 seconds.
  2. [RUNE] RageRage - Gives you a chance to gain an Attack Speed/Move Speed buff for 6 seconds when JUDGEMENTJudgement is used. This Rune will help you increase the speed of your rotation.
AWAKENING
BLAST OF RUINATION
BLAST OF RUINATION

Scrapper focuses her mind and reinforces her gauntlets to deliver a powerful strike. She gathers the energy in the air onto her gauntlets and thrusts forward. The thrust's power cracks the ground, dispersing an energy wave that reaches as far as 14 meters, knocking enemies back. The Damage of the wave differs depending on the distance it travels: The closer to the wave's starting point, the higher the Damage.

This skill deals unbelievably high amounts of Damage when performed from up close. Moreover, it deals A LOT of Stagger Damage and makes you immune to debuffs during its use.

  • Stagger: Highest
  • Supper Armor: Push Immunity, Debuff Immunity

Skill Usage/Rotation

  • Instant HitInstant Hit and Roundup SweepRoundup Sweep are your Counter Attacks. Unlike your other skills, these two are Frontal Attacks so mind your positioning!
  • Taijutsu Scrapper focuses on maintaining her rotation to dish out high amounts of sustained damage with minimal downtime. To achieve this, you should follow the following three rules:
  1. Always position yourself behind the enemy (during the standard rotation) to benefit from the Back Attack modifier most of your skills have.
  2. Maintain the Amplified DamageAmplified Damage debuff on the boss at all times by using Judgement every 8 seconds.
  3. Try to maximize the benefits you gain from the Charging BlowCharging Blow's Ready AttackReady Attack by using it often and following it up with your highest damaging skills.

Your opening Skill Rotation looks as follows:

  1. Use Charging BlowCharging Blow to buff yourself with Ready AttackReady Attack for 3 seconds.
  2. Follow up with the Iron Cannon BlowIron Cannon Blow ⇒ Battering FistsBattering Fists ⇒ Earthquake ChainEarthquake Chain sequence within the 3-second buff window.
  3. Use Judgement to debuff your Target with Amplified DamageAmplified Damage
  4. Follow up with Instant HitInstant Hit ⇒ Dragon AdventDragon Advent
    • If your Cooldowns aren't low enough and you experience Downtime at this point in your rotation, consider switching Earthquake ChainEarthquake Chain for Continuous PushContinuous Push and using it, paired with the Charging BlowCharging Blow, while you wait for your cooldowns to finish.
  5. Follow the initial rotation by re-applying Charging BlowCharging Blow's Ready AttackReady Attack before using any other offensive skill that comes off Cooldown. Also, remember to maintain Amplified DamageAmplified Damage
    • Use Charging BlowCharging Blow when any one of your skills is about to be ready, to smooth out the rotation.

Recommended Engravings

  1. Ultimate Skill: TaijutsuUltimate Skill: Taijutsu (Class Engraving) - Increases the natural recovery speed of Stamina Energy by (Level 1: 300%, Level 2: 450%, Level 3: 600%) and increases Stamina Skill Damage by (Level 1: 30%, Level 2: 45%, Level 3: 60%). Shock Skill Damage is lowered by 30%.

With this, your Stamina recovery rate stops being a problem and you become able to spam Stamina Skills (which also get a solid damage boost from this). You need this Engraving to make the build work, so obtaining it should be your highest priority - you'll need it at Level 3.

  1. AdrenalineAdrenaline - When using skills other than mobile and basic attacks, attack power increases by (Lv. 1: 0.3%, Lv. 2: 0.6%, Lv. 3: 1%) for 6 seconds (stacks up to 6), and when this effect reaches its maximum stack, critical hit rate increases by an additional (Lv. 1: 5%, Lv. 2: 10%, Lv. 3: 15%). This effect is applied after the skill ends if the cooldown time reduction due to skill cancellation is applied.

Thanks to the number of spammable Staminal Skills you have access to, AdrenalineAdrenaline is a perfect choice - you should be able to stack it up and maintain it with ease. It will provide you with extra Crit Rate and Attack Power, both of which are extremely valuable to you. All you need at the start is Level 1 of this.

  1. GrudgeGrudge - Increases your Damage Dealt to Bosses (Level 1: +4%, Level 2: +10%, Level 3: +20%), but makes you take 20% more damage from them.

Grudge is one of the most powerful offensive Engravings, but it comes with a severe drawback that may get you killed. If you can live with the downside, it will serve you as an unconditional damage increase. Taijutsu Scrapper lacks any significant defensive capability, so pick it up if you feel like you can avoid most (or all) avoidable damage during boss encounters. Also, remember that it's only worth using at Level 3, so never use it at level 2 and especially 1 (unless you want to take 5% more damage for every 1% increase in your own DPS).

  1. Cursed DollCursed Doll - Increases Attack Power at the cost of reduced 25% Healing Received (does not affect natural Health recovery (Level 1 - +3% Attack Power, Level 2 - 8% Attack Power, Level 3 - +16% Attack Power).

This Engraving can boost your offensive power rather significantly, but the tradeoff is painful. Pick it up only if you know encounter mechanics very well, as its downside will hurt too much otherwise; In other words: if you lack encounter experience, skip it. Also, using this at Levels 1 and 2 is not worth the risks involved (so, use it at Level 3 or don't use it at all).

  1. Keen Blunt Weapon Keen Blunt Weapon - Increases your Crit Damage (Level 1: +10%, Level 2: +25%, Level 3: +50%) but also gives your attacks a chance to deal 20% Reduced Damage.

The more Crit Rate you have, the more powerful this Engraving becomes. As a Taijutsu Scrapper you want to stack Crit Rate, so Keen Blunt Weapon Keen Blunt Weapon is definitely a solid option.

  1. Master of AmbushMaster of Ambush  - Increases the damage you deal with Back Attacks (Level 1 - +5%, Level 2 - +12%, Level 3 - + 25%). You should get this at Level 3 (which could amount to 25% increased DPS if you're perfect at performing back attacks).

Most of the attacks you will be using (5 out of 6) have the Back Attack modifier. Because of this, Master of AmbushMaster of Ambush Engraving is an excellent choice. Also, it will encourage you to pay more attention to your positioning as missing Back Attacks while you have it active will make you lose even more potential DPS than otherwise.

Gear Sets, Gems, Cards, etc.

  • Gear Sets - As a DPS Class, Scrapper wants Her set to boost Her offensive capabilities as much as possible. Here are the optimal Sets for each Tier:
    • Tier 1: Seraphic Oath Set (Epic); Boisterous Elemental Set (Legendary)
    • Tier 2: Marvelous Earth Set (Epic); Unyielding Will Set (Legendary)
    • Tier 3: Twisted Dimensional Set (Epic); Preordained Diligence (Legendary)
  • Gems -  With these, you can apply a Cooldown Reduction or Bonus Damage to your Skills. There is a limit of 11 Gems; you should distribute them in the following way:
    • You should use Cooldown Reduction Gems on the following Skills: Earthquake ChainEarthquake Chain, Instant HitInstant Hit, Dragon AdventDragon Advent, Battering FistsBattering Fists, Iron Cannon BlowIron Cannon Blow
    • You should use Attack Gems on the following Skills: Earthquake ChainEarthquake ChainInstant HitInstant HitDragon AdventDragon AdventBattering FistsBattering FistsIron Cannon BlowIron Cannon Blow, Death RattleDeath Rattle
  • Cards - Depending on your budget, you should go for one of the following Card Sets:
    • Light of Salvation Set - A Full set offers +30% Dark Damage Reduction, changes your Damage type to Holy, and increases your Holy Damage dealt by 15%.
    • Lostwind Cliff Set - A Full set offers +25% Dark Damage Reduction and +7% Critical Rate. This one is the budget Card Set choice.
