Build Overview

Beastmaster Class specializes in dealing damage not by itself, but by his Companions - such as Crows in this case. Summon Storm Crows is a recently added Minion Skill that allows you to summon a Companion in the form of a Crow. These deal Lightning Spell Damage that scales with the number of other Crows at your command. You can have up to 6 of them (2 by default, 1 from Beastmaster Passive Bonus, 1 from Beastmaster's Skill Tree, 1 from "Summon Wolf" Skil, and 1 from Unique Helmet "Artor's Legacy"). The damage they deal using their ability "Combined Lightning" is increased by 50% by contributing Crow, that's a 300% Damage increase already, and it can be elevated even further by picking Passives magnifying these mechanics. All the other Skills used in this build are here to increase the avian companion's damage even further while keeping defenses and mana sustain at a reasonable array.

You can also view the full build on the Last Epoch planner here: Summon Storm Crows Beastmaster Build

For the defenses, this build utilizes:

  1. Aspect of Boar defenses;
  2. reasonably high Health;
  3. decent Armor;
  4. capped Resistances;
  5. being able to focus entirely on dodging attacks as Crows do all the heavy lifting

 Pros  Cons
 great damage for single-targets and for clearing  it's a quite squishy build
minion-based playstyle is relaxing and non-engaging

Passive Skill Trees

primalist
Primalist Skill Tree (25 Points)

Notable Passives:

  1. Natural Attunement [8/8] - it gives you some Cold and Lightning Resistances, but most importantly - 8 Attunement, an Attribute that increases Crow's Damage and Health
  2. Wisdom fo the Wild  [6/6] - Minion Spell Damage increased by 42%
  3. Hunter's Restoration [5/5] - your Health is increased by 10% and every 3 seconds you restore 40 Health

shaman
Shaman Skill Tree (25 Points)

Notable Passives:

  1. Shamanic Infusion [8/8] - 8 Attunement and 8% Elemental Penetration for you and your Crows
  2. Storm Bringer [10/10] - 50% Lightning Resistance and Lightning Damage for you and your Minions
  3. Avatar of Thunder [5/5] - +10 Spell Lightning Damage for you and your Minions

beastmaster

Beastmaster Skill Tree (63 Points)

Notable Passives:

  1. Force of nature [1/1] - it extends your Maximum number of summoned Companions by one
  2. Serrated Claws [6/6] - 60% Critical Multiplier for you and your Crows
  3. Rending Maw [1/5] - you will be able to Shred Armour with Attack and Spells
  4. Life in the Wilderness [1/8] - one point is enough - your Crows will now share your Endurance

By picking Beastmaster Class you gain two additional Crows, unfortunately not a lot of Passives provide straightforward increases in Minion Damage. The main theme of the Beastmaster here seems to be augmenting Aspects of Lynx, Shark, Boar, and Viper. You gain Aspect of the Boar when hit by Melee Attack, Aspect of the Shark is given every 5 seconds as you hit something with your Swipe, and The Aspect of the Lynx activates when you use a Companion Skill - such as Summon Storm Crows. The Aspect of the Boar is quite useful - it reduces damage taken, Aspect of the Lynx increases your and your Companions Crit Chance and Stun Chance, which is great since it affects your Crows, be sure to invest some points there. Aspect of the Shark grants you essentially more Melee Attacks Speed for Swipe and a chance to Shred Armor. With some point invested in Shark's Aspect, it becomes really beneficial. Aspect of the Viper is totally useless.

Skills

Note: Left-Clicking on any of the ability trees below will open the full-size version in a new window.

Summon Storm Crows

Summon Storm Crows - This build places a huge emphasis on the number of Crows - the DPS is increased for each of them by default. Take Murder of Crows for +20% Damage per Crow, and Thunderous Blast for +40% Damage per Crow. With the Base +50% from the Crow's Ability, the Combined Lightning now deals 110% more Damage per Crow, resulting in 660% increased Damage of this Ability. Take the necessary points to travel to these Passives and the rest put into a damage increase.

Summon Storm Crows

Swipe

Swipe - Swipe is a Melee Physical Attack and it's used only to gain Mana on use and Kill Bosses Bellow 14% of their Maximum Health. For that to happen put three points into Duality of Nature. Rending will help you by Shredding enemy Armor. Culling allows you to kill enemies that are low on Health. Feline Hunter will make you Attack Faster. If you struggle with hitting opponents - invest more points in Wengarian Reach for more AoE. There is no point in increasing the damage of this Attack, it's purely a utility Skill.

Swipe

Summon Frenzy Totem

Summon Frenzy Totem - A Totem that grants Frenzy to you and your Minions - it increases Attack and Cast speed by 20%. Take 5 points in Revitalizing Totem for 125% Health Regen, three points in Symbol of Haste for more Haste duration, and then the most important Passive - Symbol of Selflessness. Now the Totem only buffs your Crows, but with a 30% increased effectiveness. Warding Totem will increase the Physical and Elemental Resistances of your Companions. Take Rabididty for more haste Effectiveness and then Berserker Frenzy - with 4 points there your Crows will deal 200% more damage, have 200% more Critical Strike Chance, but will take 40% more damage. If your birds die too often, invest some of these points in Grounded for better Mana sustain.

Summon Frenzy Totem

Summon Wolf

Summon Wolf - Go for Pack Hunters. That's the only reason to pick this Skill, it grants you an additional Crow slot. Don't use it, don't summon Vowles.

Summon Wolf

Fury Leap

Fury Leap - A mobility Skill. Warrior's Entrance grants your Minions 100% more Damage shortly after you land which is great. Go for Panther's Strike for faster Cooldown Recovery and then Regain Stamina for a chance to bypass Cooldown completely from time to time. Rage is somewhat useful - you can Attack with Swipe a bit faster. Other than that there is not much else to look for.

Items

Stat priority:

It's a Minion build, all the damaging stats like Crit Chance and Lightning Damage should be given to your Minions. Attack Speed for your character is a somewhat useful stat since it allows you to use Swipe with higher frequency, but ultimately you shouldn't focus on it. Idols are good for increasing the Crit Chance and damage of your Minions, making the durations of Aspects last longer, or just gathering some resistances and basic stats. There are at least 2 uniques worth equipping - Ravens' Rise and Artor's Legacy. Attunement and Strength are Attributes the most useful for this build.

  1. Minion Damage/Lightning Damage/Spell Damage
  2. Minion Crit Chance and Crit Multiplier
  3. Health
  4. Resistances
  5. Attunement
  6. Armor
  7. Critical Strike Avoidance
  8. Strength
  9. Melee Attack Speed

Recommended Unique Items:

Ravens Rise

Raven's Rise - Increases your Minions Movespeed and makes them take less damage while moving. Minion Spells have level increased by 2, and your Necrotic and Lightning Resistances are improved.

Artor's Legacy

Artor's Legacy - This allows you to have an additional Crow summoned. Additionally, your Attacks have a chance to Chill with increased Chill Duration, your Attack speed is enhanced as well, making you Swipe faster.

END NOTE

This is the beta version of our Summon Storm Crows Beastmaster Build for the Last Epoch. We didn't have much time for testing, but this build already shows a lot of promise and outperforms many other Druid setups. Obviously, as the game gets new content updates, we will be updating this guide regularly, though it may be impossible to be done after each Patch.
