Reflux Sorceress Lost Ark Raiding Build

Reflux Sorceress Lost Ark Raiding Build

One of the best DPS setups for the Sorceress Class which offers great mobility and versatility

Reflux Sorceress
PvE Raiding Build
for Lost Ark

Last Update: 21st March 2022

Introduction

Sorceress is one of the most popular advanced Classes in Lost Ark, and for a good reason. She offers an awesome mix of flashy and impactful spells, high DPS, engaging gameplay, and something nice to look at (let's not kid ourselves, this plays a big part in the Class's popularity). There are two main Sorceress builds, based on her Class Engravings - RefluxReflux and IgniterIgniter. Today, we're going to take a closer look at the former.

The RefluxReflux Sorceress excels at dealing consistent damage with minimal downtime and does not have to rely on her Identity Gauge to do so. She can deal her damage whenever she wants to, without relying on burst windows and proper timing. Thanks to the low Identity Gauge reliance, RefluxReflux Sorceress is also very mobile as she can Blink without hurting her damage output. As a result, she is easier to play, more forgiving, and much more mobile than the IgniterIgniter variant.

Stat Priority

As a RefluxReflux Sorceress, you want to focus on Critical and Swiftness. Of these two stats, Crit is more valuable as it makes your DPS more reliable and it works great with Critical Damage Tripods we recommend you take. Swiftness, on the other hand, can be substituted with Blink to some extent, however, Blink won't always be available and the lack of overall mobility might feel painful. Try to balance these two stats - take as little Swiftness as you're comfortable with (the better you are at following Raid mechanics, the less Swiftness you'll effectively need).

Skills

BLAZE
BLAZE

Sorceress conjures a rectangular flame forward, scorching enemies for moderate amounts of damage and paralyzing them. Enemies are also set on Fire for 5 seconds and receive minor periodic damage for the duration.

With the Damage Amplification Tripod, this becomes your main Team Synergy Skill that offers +6% Damage to foes from all Group members with almost 100% potential uptime.

Level 10

  1. [Level I] Damage Amplification Damage Amplification - On hit, Damage to Enemies from all Party Members +6.0% for 8.0 seconds. This Tripod is the main reason we're taking this Spell.
  2. [Level II] Flame Expansion Flame Expansion  - Flames are created, spreading left and right. Flame Area is created for 3 seconds and damage to enemies increases by 40.0% (at Rank 1). This will allow you to spread Damage Amplification to more enemies during encounters with trash.
  3. [Level III] Weak Point Detection Weak Point Detection - Increases Damage dealt to Push-Immune enemies. With this, Blaze will deal considerably more damage to Bosses.
  4. [RUNE] BleedBleed - This Rune makes Blaze inflict all enemies hit with a Bleeding effect for 6 seconds. Thanks to Blaze's low cooldown, Bleed provides a nice boost to DPS, especially against trash mobs.
SERAPHIC HAIL
SERAPHIC HAIL

Sorceress creates a huge wave that covers enemies in front of her and inflicts high amounts of Water Damage. If an enemy is in the air while the weave approaches, it will be launched up again on hit.

This is a solid offensive spell that deals Stagger Damage, but it suffers from a rather limited range - you'll have to close your distance before using it, which can be somewhat dangerous.

  • Stagger: Mid
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 10

  1. [Level I] Quick Preparation Quick Preparation - Lowers the Skill's Cooldown by up to 6 seconds. This can effectively cut 1/3 of Seraphic Hail's base Cooldown, which is great.
  2. [Level II] Additional Explosion Additional Explosion  - A large explosion occurs where the wave hits, knocking Enemies back. Total damage +30.0% (at Rank 1). More damage and some CC against regular monsters is always welcome.
  3. [Level III] Weak Point Detection Weak Point Detection -  Increases Damage dealt to Push-Immune enemies. With this, Seraphic Hail will deal considerably more damage to Bosses.
  4. [RUNE] GalewindGalewind - Increase the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster, making it even better at dealing damage.
FROST'S CALL
FROST'S CALL

Sorceress causes a Cold Snap at the cursor location within 12 meters of herself, dealing high amounts of Water Damage to enemies split into 9 hits that occur over 4 seconds period.

This is a solid ground-based offensive spell that deals solid Stagger Damage and can be used from a relatively safe distance. With Unstable RuleUnstable Rule Tripod, it also doesn't hurt your mobility as much.

  • Stagger: Mid
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 10

  1. [Level I] Mind Enhancement  Mind Enhancement - Reduces the spell's mana cost, making it much more economical to cast. You can opt for the Enlightenment Tripod instead, however, this Build does not rely on quick Identity Gauge generation but rather on spamming spells which can be resource-intensive.
  2. [Level II] Unstable Rule Unstable Rule - Changes to Point and Normal mode (from the standard Holding mode). Immediately creates Frost energy on the desired spot for 2s. Total damage +15.0%. This makes Frost's Call much more dynamic, which is important for a RefluxReflux Sorceress.
  3. [Level III] Final Strike Final Strike - Increases Frost's Call's Critical Damage by a large margin. This works extremely well with Critical stat build, which we recommend.
  4. [RUNE] any
PUNISHING STRIKE
PUNISHING STRIKE

Sorceress calls forth a giant Thunderstroke at the cursor location within 16 meters, dealing high amounts of Lightning Damage to all nearby enemies.

This spell is your strongest regular damage source that is also great for Stagger Checks. It can also be used from a long distance of 16 meters, which makes it relatively safe to cast (especially with the Unavoidable FateUnavoidable Fate Tripod that changes it to Normal mode).

  • Stagger: High
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 10

  1. [Level I] Mind Enhancement  Mind Enhancement - Reduces the spell's mana cost, making it much more economical to cast. The two other available Level 1 Tripod choices are not worth it over this one.
  2. [Level II] Unavoidable Fate Unavoidable Fate - Changes to Normal Skill. Skill casting shortens. The attack is now diagonally striking Lightning 16 meters in front. Outgoing Damage +10.0%. This completely changes the nature of Punishing Strike, making it fit the dynamic playstyle of a RefluxReflux Sorc.
  3. [Level III] Final Strike Final Strike - Increases Punishing Strike's Critical Damage by a large margin. This works extremely well with Critical stat build, which we recommend.
  4. [RUNE] GalewindGalewind - Increase the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster, making it even stronger.
INFERNO
INFERNO

Sorceress creates a pillar of flame at the cursor location within 14 meters, dealing high amounts of Fire Damage to all foes in range. The flame eruption also knocks enemies into the air.

This is a nice offensive addition to your kit as it can stack up to two times. Inferno lets you bump up your DPS by quite a bit, however, if you feel like you need a Counter Skill, you should use SquallSquall instead.

  • Weak Point: Level 1
  • Stagger: Mid

Level 10

  1. [Level I] Rift Acceleration Rift Acceleration - Increases the rate at which the Fire Pillar is created by 0.5 seconds. This makes INFERNOInferno much smoother.
  2. [Level II] Charge Flame  Charge Flame  - Changes to be stackable. Removes Push and causes Paralysis. The skill can now stack up to 2 times. This allows you to "pocket" more damage for an upcoming burst window.
  3. [Level III] Firepower Supplement Firepower Supplement - Ready Attack motion shortens and Damage to foes increases. This is an excellent tripod that improves the skill's Damage and shortens its casting animation, making it much more dynamic.
  4. [RUNE] any
REVERSE GRAVITY
REVERSE GRAVITY

Sorceress creates an Earth Rift Magic Circle on the spot, reversing the gravitational pull in the location. All affected enemies are knocked into the air and then rapidly pulled back down, receiving high amounts of damage in the process.

This is a solid offensive spell that suffers a bit from a limited range, a bit like the SERAPHIC HAILSeraphic Hail does - you should try to cast these two spells one after the other to minimize unnecessary movement.

  • Stagger: Low
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 10

  1. [Level I] Rift Acceleration Rift Acceleration - Attacks at the Rift Magick Circle occur 0.3s faster. This shortens the time needed for the spell to take effect, making it more dynamic.
  2. [Level II] Lava Area Lava Area  - Changes the Spell's Element to Fire and causes an explosion after launching enemies into the air for additional Outgoing Damage (+30% at Rank 1).
  3. [Level III] Weak Point Detection Weak Point Detection - Increases Damage dealt to Push-Immune enemies. With this, Reverse Gravity will deal considerably more damage to Bosses.
  4. [RUNE] GalewindGalewind - Increase the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster, making it even better at dealing damage.
RIME ARROW
RIME ARROW

Sorceress creates multiple Ice Arrows at the cursor location within 14 meters of herself. The Arrows deal high amounts of Water Damage to all enemies who find themselves in range.

You'll be using this spell mainly to cancel the long animation of your PUNISHING STRIKEPunishing Strike. In other words, always use RIME ARROWRime Arrow after the PUNISHING STRIKEPunishing Strike to smooth out the rotation.

  • Stagger: Mid
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 10

  1. [Level I] Quick Preparation Quick Preparation - Lowers the Skill's Cooldown by up to 8 seconds. This can effectively cut over 1/3 of Rime Arrow's base Cooldown, which is great.
  2. [Level II] Piercing Strike Piercing Strike  - This makes Rime Arrow ignore a large portion of the enemy's Defense which results in a nice damage boost.
  3. [Level III] Ice Pick Ice Pick - A simple tripod that increases Rime Arrow's outgoing damage by 60% (at Rank 1).
  4. [RUNE] RageRage - Gives you a chance to gain an Attack Speed/Move Speed buff for 6 seconds after Rime Arrow is used. This Rune will help you increase the speed of your rotation.
ESOTERIC REACTION
ESOTERIC REACTION

Sorceress creates a Magick Crystal within 12 meters of cursor location. The Crystal evolves by levels up to level 3, at which point it detonates, dealing high amounts of damage to all nearby enemies knocking them back in the process.

This is a powerful offensive spell with a high range - you can use it from a relatively safe distance.

Level 10

  1. [Level I] Quick Preparation Quick Preparation - Lowers the Skill's Cooldown by 5 seconds (at Rank 1). This Tripod will cut a considerable portion of ESOTERIC REACTIONEsoteric Reaction's Cooldown.
  2. [Level II] Final Strike Final Strike  - Increases Esoteric Reaction's Critical Damage by a large margin. This works extremely well with Critical stat build, which we recommend.
  3. [Level III] Stabilized Crystal Stabilized Crystal - Create a crystal that is completed in 3 levels. Explosion range -20%. Damage +40.0% (at Rank 1). This Tripod condenses Esoteric Reaction to a smaller area, but it also boosts its damage in the process.
  4. [RUNE] Quick RechargeGalewind - Increase the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster, making it even stronger.
AWAKENING
ENVISKA'S MIGHT
ENVISKA'S MIGHT

Sorceress releases lightning energy from her rod, inflicting moderate amounts of damage to enemies. Then, she pulls the released energy back to the center, dealing multiple devastating hits to all enemies in range. After that, she gathers up the enemies in one spot to cause a massive explosion that deals very high amounts of Lightning Damage.

This is an extremely powerful, multi-hit, nuke spell that can turn any encounter in your favor. You should always discuss its use with your teammates as wasting it is a huge pitfall that should be avoided at all costs.

  • Stagger: High

Skill Usage/Rotations

  • You should always try to maintain BLAZEBlaze's debuff on the Boss.
  • Don't shy away from using Blink, but try to build up your Identity Gauge, if possible, to use it offensively.
  • Always try to use RIME ARROWRime Arrow after PUNISHING STRIKEPunishing Strike to cancel its animation.

As for RefluxReflux Sorceress's rotation... You should start with debuffing your Target with BLAZEBlaze and then simply cast everything on Cooldown, as you won't ever run out of spells to cast. By doing so, you'll deal very high sustained damage without worrying about burst windows too much.

Recommended Engravings

  1. RefluxReflux (Class Engraving) - Disables Arcane Rupture, but Damage of skills (except awakening and movement skills) (Level 1: +8%, Level 2: +12%, Level 3: +16%) and Cooldown (Level 1: -3%, Level 2: -6%, Level 3: -10%).

This is the Core Engraving of the featured build. It gives a solid Damage and Cooldown Reduction boost across the board, but it prevents you from using Arcane Rupture (which is a low price to pay). Thanks to this Engraving, Sorceress is one of the most versatile and consistent damage dealers in Lost Ark.

  1. AwakeningPrecise Dagger  - Increases critical hit rate by (Level 1: 4%, Level 2: 10%, Level 3: 20%), but reduces critical damage by 12%.

This amazing Engraving makes your Critical Strikes much more consistent and it's well worth the drawback (which is more than made up to by Critical Damage-increasing Tripods we take across the board).

  1. AdrenalineAdrenaline - When using skills other than mobile and basic attacks, attack power increases by (Lv. 1: 0.3%, Lv. 2: 0.6%, Lv. 3: 1%) for 6 seconds (stacks up to 6), and when this effect reaches its maximum stack, critical hit rate increases by an additional (Lv. 1: 5%, Lv. 2: 10%, Lv. 3: 15%). This effect is applied after the skill ends if the cooldown time reduction due to skill cancellation is applied.

This engraving works exceptionally well for a Reflux Sorceress as She benefits from increased Crit very much (thanks to Crit Damage Tripods). This Engraving has no drawbacks and is relatively easy to maintain once you gear up.

  1. GrudgeGrudge - Increases your Damage Dealt to Bosses (Level 1: +4%, Level 2: +10%, Level 3: +20%), but makes you take 20% more damage from them.

This Engraving is extremely powerful, but it will punish you if you make a mistake. Pick it up only if you feel like you can avoid most (or all) avoidable damage during boss encounters. We advise inexperienced players to skip this one. Also, this is a BiS Engraving for Tier 3 content. Also, also, it's only worth using at Levels 2 and 3.

  1. Hit MasterHit Master - Increases the damage of attacks that do not correspond to back attack or front attack by (Level 1: 3%, Level 2: 8%, Level 3: 16%). This effect does not apply to Awakenings.

Sorceress Skills don't have Back or Front attack modifiers which makes this Engraving very strong for the build. It effectively gives you the same effect as Cursed Doll, but without the drawback.

  1. Cursed DollCursed Doll - Increases Attack Power at the cost of reduced 25% Healing Received (does not affect natural Health recovery (Level 1 - +3% Attack Power, Level 2 - 8% Attack Power, Level 3 - +16% Attack Power).

This Engraving is very powerful and very dangerous to its user, just like Grudge. Only pick it if you know encounter mechanics very well. If you lack experience, skip it. Also, using this at Levels 1 and 2 is not worth the risks involved (so, use it at Level 3 or don't use it at all).

  1. All-Out AttackAll-Out Attack -  Increases holding and casting speed of holding and casting skills by (Level 1: 5%, Level 2: 10%, Level3: 20%) and damage by (Level 1: 4%, Level 2: 10%, Level 3:20%).

This is a niche engraving that's used only on the "casting" variant of the build. If you're using Spells like ExplosionExplosion and DoomsdayDoomsday on your RefluxReflux Sorceress, you might want to consider this one.

Gear Sets, Gems, Cards, etc.

  • Gear Sets - As a DPS Class, Sorceress wants her set to boost her offensive capabilities as much as possible. Here are the optimal Sets for each Tier:
    • Tier 1: Seraphic Oath Set (Epic); Boisterous Elemental Set (Legendary)
    • Tier 2: Marvelous Earth Set (Epic); Unyielding Will Set (Legendary)
    • Tier 3: Twisted Dimensional Set (Epic); Preordained Diligence Set (Legendary)
  • Gems -  With these, you can apply a Cooldown Reduction or Bonus Damage to your Skills. There is a limit of 11 Gems; you should distribute them in the following way:
    • You should use Cooldown Reduction Gems on the following Skills: Seraphic HailSeraphic Hail, Reverse GravityReverse Gravity, Rime ArrowRime Arrow, Esoteric ReactionEsoteric Reaction, Frost's CallFrost's Call
    • You should use Attack Gems on the following Skills: Reverse GravityReverse Gravity, Esoteric ReactionEsoteric Reaction, Rime ArrowRime Arrow, Seraphic HailSeraphic Hail, Frost's CallFrost's Call, Punishing Strike Punishing Strike
  • Cards - Depending on your budget, you should go for one of the following Card Sets:
    • Light of Salvation Set - A Full set offers +30% Dark Damage Reduction, changes your Damage type to Holy, and increases your Holy Damage dealt by 15%.
    • Lostwind Cliff Set - A Full set offers +25% Dark Damage Reduction and +7% Critical Rate. This one is the cheaper of the recommended two.
