New PoE Currency in Beta 3.0 [Fall of Oriath Expansion]

As most of you already know, we are far into 3.0 Beta with the Fall of Oriath expansion launching on August 4, 2017. Some of the new PoE currency items have already been revealed on the official Path of Exile website, while screenshots of the other new PoE Orbs are floating around the internet. We would like to share this information with you, however, please keep in mind this is still Beta. Not all of that might be accurate, and some of the Orbs might never see the light of the day.

We will be apparently seeing a new valuable Orb  - the Ancient Orb. We will share our calculations eventually, after it has been confirmed how it works :) Stay tuned

Ancient Orb

"Reforges a unique item as another of the same item class" Will possibly allow players to roll extremely valuable uniques from other items of the same class. Will most likely surpass Exalted Orb in price by a fair bit Note- sadly it does not work as we thought. It reforges a belt into another belt, but not a Leather belt into another Leather belt etc. This makes this orb worth "only" 6 chaos orbs

Orb of Annulment

"Removes a random property from an item" We expect this to be a nice addition to the meta-crafting

Orb of Binding

Upgrades a normal item to a rare item with up to four linked sockets Appears to be an "upgraded" version of the Orb of Alchemy.

Orb of Horizons

Reforges a map item as another of the same tier Will most likely be used to change low-value unique maps to different ones of the same tier.  (hint Oba's Cursed Trove -> Perandus Manor exchange is worth over 2 Exalted Orbs - as long as it actually works that way)

Engineer's Orb

Improves the quality of the Strongbox Something we have been missing for a while :) The outcome is hard to predict, but it will be possibly much more fun to play around with those strongboxes now

Mirror Shard

A stack of 20 Mirror Shards become Mirror of Kalandra

Exalted Shard

A stack of 20 Exalted Shards become Exalted Orb

Ancient Shard

A stack of 20  Ancient Shards become Ancient Orb

Chaos Shard

A stack of 20 Chaos Shards become Chaos Orb

Annulment Shard

A stack of 20 Annulment Shards become Orb of Annulment

Binding Shard

A stack of 20 Binding Shard become Orb of Binding

Engineer's Shard

A stack of 20  Engineer's Shards become Engineer's Orb

Horizon Shard

A stack of 20 Horizon Shard become Orb of Horizons

Regal Shard

A stack of 20 Regal Shard become Regal Orb
