Lightning Shot Bing 1 Build - Torchlight: Infinite

Last Update: October 27, 2026

Introduction

Hero: Escapist Bing

Hero Trait: Blast Nova (Bing 1)

Main Skill: Lightning Shot

Damage: Lightning Attack Projectiles, Chain Lightning and Bomb Detonations

Season: SS14 Tartarus

Automated ProjectilesRanged Attack DPSHigh Investment

Lightning Shot Bing 1 turns Blast Nova into a mobile projectile bombardment build. Bombs land near enemies and release Lightning Shot attacks as they detonate. The projectiles deal Lightning damage, spread through packs and benefit from investment in Attack Speed, Dexterity and Projectile Speed.

At level 45, Firepower Coverage allows Bing to throw bombs automatically. This creates a comfortable mapping rhythm: move between packs, let the bombs find targets and use brief stationary windows to deal more damage to elites. Blast Barrage later removes the detonation delay, making the build feel much faster in dense maps.

The finished character leans on Agility Blessing for both damage and evasion. Ralph's Laws gives those stacks a major offensive payoff, while Lightning Striker's Sacrum increases Horizontal Projectile Skill levels and supplies substantial Evasion. A strong two-handed firearm remains one of the largest investments.

Pros

  • Automatic attacks make routine map clearing comfortable once the trait is unlocked
  • Lightning Shot covers clustered packs with multiple projectiles and secondary hits
  • Dexterity, Agility Blessing and Projectile Speed all offer clear paths for improvement
  • Evasion and Deflection provide useful defensive layers for a ranged attacker

Cons

  • Firepower Coverage reduces movement speed and bomb-throwing speed while moving
  • Lightning Shot cannot be manually used after Firepower Coverage is active

1. Blast Nova Hero Traits and Memories

Blast Nova changes a non-channeling, non-sentry Main Attack Projectile Skill into a bomb-based attack. Every bomb throws out projectiles as it detonates, while bonuses to Attack Speed also improve Bomb Throwing Speed. Lightning Shot suits this trait thanks to its innate Physical-to-Lightning conversion and its secondary Lightning hits.

Trait stage Recommended choice What it does
Level 1 Blast Nova Bombs fire the equipped Main Attack Projectiles upon detonation. Build around Attack Speed and Projectile behavior.
Level 45 Firepower Coverage Automatically targets nearby enemies with bombs. The movement and bomb-speed penalties encourage short pauses on bosses.
Level 60 Blast Barrage Bombs detonate as soon as they land and can occasionally gain additional bomb quantity, making clear speed more consistent.
Level 75 Frenzy Hound Adds damage against enemies close to detonating bombs. Strong for single targets when your bombs reliably land near the boss.
Positioning: Automatic throwing remains active during movement, but Firepower Coverage imposes a penalty to Bomb Throwing Speed while moving. Against durable targets, stop briefly when the arena is safe, then dash out before the next mechanic. Bombs are also capped on the ground, so increasing the amount you throw is only helpful while detonations can keep up.

Hero Memories should strengthen the same attack loop. Start with effects that improve Projectile or Lightning Hit damage, Attack Speed, Dexterity and the survival layers you already use. Memories with irrelevant Spell or DoT bonuses offer little value to Lightning Shot.

2. Talents and Passive Tree

The four talent trees are Goddess of Hunting, Marksman, Assassin and Ranger. Their major talents develop Agility Blessing, projectile damage, Lightning damage against Numbed enemies and consistent critical hits. Prioritize reliable bomb damage before spending heavily on optional defensive or luxury nodes.

Talent Tree Points Shown Major Talents and Priorities
Goddess of Hunting 28 points Perception (12) builds Agility Blessing on hit and increases its maximum stack count. Three Birds with One Stone (24) adds Projectiles and Projectile Damage. Favor Dexterity, movement speed and efficient Attack Speed nodes.
Marksman 24 points Gale (24) allows Projectile Speed bonuses to improve Projectile Damage. Seek Projectile Speed, Evasion and Critical Strike-related nodes; use Euphoria as a defensive alternative if necessary.
Assassin 27 points Conductive (24) increases Lightning Damage taken by Numbed enemies. Build sufficient Lightning damage and arrange reliable Numbed application through available effects.
Ranger 24 points Fluke (24) provides Lucky Critical Strike. Support it with Critical Strike Rating, Critical Strike Damage and practical defensive nodes for T8 mapping.

Goddess of Hunting - Agility Blessings and Projectiles

Perception supplies Agility Blessing stacks through repeated Lightning Shot hits. Three Birds with One Stone adds projectiles, helping bomb detonations cover wider packs. Prioritize routes that also contribute Dexterity or Attack Speed.

Marksman - Gale and Projectile Speed

Gale converts part of Projectile Speed investment into extra Projectile Damage. Wind Projectiles and appropriate gear affixes make this interaction valuable. Euphoria remains an option when survival is more important than faster clearing.

Assassin - Conductive

Conductive strengthens Lightning Damage against Numbed targets. Confirm that Numbed is applied consistently before investing heavily in this interaction. Thunderclap rewards actively casting a Main Skill, so it is less suitable for an automated Firepower Coverage setup.

Ranger - Fluke and Critical Hits

Fluke provides Lucky Critical Strike and reinforces the critical-hit stats on a developed two-handed firearm. Choose efficient Critical Strike Rating and Life nodes while raising your Critical Strike Damage through equipment.

Talent priority: Start by making automated bomb attacks consistent, then increase Agility Blessing uptime, Projectile Speed and critical-hit performance. Keep enough points available for maximum Life and Evasion during harder Timemarks.

3. Active Skills and Support Links

Keep Lightning Shot as the first active skill and build its link package around hit damage, speed and secondary lightning coverage. Every support below belongs to a regular or specialized Lightning Shot slot, with Offshoot and Crossed Lightning restricted to slots 3 and 5 respectively.

[Main DPS] Lightning Shot

Each bomb detonation fires Lightning Shot projectiles. Wind Projectiles contributes speed that also improves damage through Gale. Electric Overload is suited to a Lightning Critical Strike attack, while Critical Strike Damage Increase becomes stronger as weapon and gear Crit Rating improve. Offshoot makes secondary Chain Lightnings spawn on hit but fixes their jumps at zero. Crossed Lightning adds Chain Lightning quantity based on Dexterity and grants a damage bonus after its Dexterity threshold is met. These special supports affect separate parts of the Lightning Shot hit pattern; secondary Offshoot bolts do not gain quantity bonuses.

Before the special supports: A practical five-support T7 package is Wind Projectiles, Electric Overload, Added Lightning Damage, Critical Strike Damage Increase and Attack Focus. Replace Added Lightning Damage in slot 3 with Offshoot (Magnificent), then replace Attack Focus in slot 5 with Crossed Lightning (Noble). Keep the other three supports in place. If your Critical Strike chance is still low, level that support while improving the firearm.

[Mark] Fixate

Fixate marks nearby targets and grants a damage buff according to enemies affected. Root automation activates it after you stop moving, making short stationary attack windows useful against elites and bosses. Check that its cooldown and skill energy fit your auxiliary setup.

[Empower] Aim

Aim reinforces the ranged attack burst. Activate it during tough encounters and refresh it as its duration ends. It is a secondary buff, so secure the Lightning Shot links before spending heavily on its support levels.

[Curse] Timid

The curse triggers around an elite when linked to the appropriate activation medium, improving consistency against priority targets. Keep other curse sources in mind to avoid exceeding your active curse limit.

[Mobility] Shadow Dash

Use Shadow Dash to escape telegraphed attacks or cross an empty section of the map. Rapid movement helps reposition the bombs, but excessive movement reduces throwing speed under Firepower Coverage.

[Defense] Delayed Pain

Provides a defensive window when a dangerous hit cannot be avoided. Use it with high Evasion, sufficient Life and capped Resistances. Defensive cooldowns are especially valuable in Profound, where one failed dodge can end the run.

4. Passive Skills and Auras

Electric Conversion is the primary damage aura. It adds Lightning Damage to your attacks, directly improving Lightning Shot after its built-in conversion. Upgrade to Precise: Electric Conversion when affordable and supported by your available Skill Energy.

[Main Damage Aura] Electric Conversion / Precise: Electric Conversion

Adds Lightning Damage to attacks, improving Lightning Shot after its built-in Physical-to-Lightning conversion. The Precise version is a premium damage upgrade when the Mana reservation budget allows it.

[Projectile Aura] Precise: Precise Projectiles

Improves projectile-focused attack damage and works with the extra projectiles released by Bing's bombs. Consider this second major aura once Sealed Mana Compensation is sufficient.

[Evasion Aura] Nimbleness

Strengthens the build's Evasion-focused defenses, especially while wearing Lightning Striker's Sacrum and crafted Evasion rares. Use it when reaching a safer defensive baseline matters more than a second damage aura.

[Alternative Defensive Aura] Energy Fortress

A situational option for setups that have substantial Energy Shield from their equipment. For an Evasion-heavy Bing, Nimbleness is generally the more practical defensive direction.

Mana reservation: Two independent auras with 50% Sealed Mana each can leave no usable Mana. Add Sealed Mana Compensation, reduce the aura package or remove the second aura until the character can keep casting auxiliary skills.

5. Leveling and Recommended Progression

Lightning Shot is the main attack throughout progression. Before Firepower Coverage unlocks, use it as a regular projectile skill and improve your weapon whenever its damage falls behind. At level 45, Bing gains automated bomb throwing; Blast Barrage at level 60 makes detonations faster.

Campaign and Early Netherrealm - Establish Lightning Shot

Level with Lightning Shot and accessible attack supports while keeping your firearm damage competitive. Equip Life and Evasion gear, fill missing Elemental Resistances and unlock your movement skill early. Once Firepower Coverage is available, Lightning Shot is delivered by bombs automatically. Take time to get used to targeting and the reduced throwing speed while moving.

Timemark 7 - Complete the Main Skill Links

Use Wind Projectiles, Electric Overload, Added Lightning Damage, Critical Strike Damage Increase and Attack Focus as the regular five-support setup. A strong two-handed firearm and useful Evasion rares are enough to establish the basic farming package. Perception and Ralph's Laws become significantly more effective when Agility Blessing uptime is stable. Focus on clearing maps smoothly before investing in specialized corruptions.

Entering Timemark 8 - Upgrade the Weapon and Special Supports

Upgrade weapon damage first, then add Lightning Striker's Sacrum if its Projectile Skill levels represent a clear improvement over your chest piece. Work on Dexterity, Critical Strike Rating and Projectile Speed. Replace the third support with Lightning Shot: Offshoot (Magnificent) and the fifth with Lightning Shot: Crossed Lightning (Noble) as your budget allows. Keep Elemental Resistances capped and look for stronger Life rolls before spending on marginal damage affixes.

Established T8 - Strengthen Buffs and Survivability

Improve Agility Blessing consistency, the critical-hit package and the secondary skills used against elites. Fixate, Aim and Timid are useful against difficult targets, while Shadow Dash and Delayed Pain help with dangerous mechanics. Add Sealed Mana Compensation before committing to an expensive two-aura setup. Raise Life and Evasion alongside attack damage.

Profound - Refine Damage and Defense

The endgame goal is a fast, high-damage firearm, both specialized Lightning Shot supports, good Agility Blessing uptime and a reliable defensive package. High Evasion alone will not prevent every hit, so add Deflection where useful and maintain movement skill access. Boss attempts are easiest when bombs land near the target and the Lightning Shot projectiles have room to connect.

During mapping, move into range and allow the bombs to target enemies automatically. Against elites and bosses, use Fixate and Aim, stop briefly for a stronger bomb-throwing window, then reposition with Shadow Dash before the next dangerous attack.

6. Gear Setup and Stat Priorities

Weapon damage, Dexterity, Agility Blessing and Evasion are the four main pillars. The build uses a two-handed ranged weapon, so there is no separate off-hand item. Lightning Shot accepts Bows, Crossbows, Firearms and Cannons; the recommended weapon base below is a two-handed Musket.

Endgame Stat Priorities
  1. Enough Elemental Resistances, Maximum Life and Evasion to survive the selected Timemark; add useful Deflection and recovery.
  2. High two-handed Weapon Attack Damage and applicable Attack Skill Levels, followed by Attack Speed.
  3. Reliable Agility Blessing generation and stack uptime to make the most of Ralph's Laws.
  4. Dexterity for attribute scaling and Lightning Shot: Crossed Lightning (Noble).
  5. Lightning Hit Damage, Projectile Damage and Projectile Speed, especially when scaling with Gale.
  6. Consistent Critical Strike Rating before stacking expensive Critical Strike Damage.
  7. Enough Skill Energy and Sealed Mana Compensation for the preferred skills and auras.
  8. Higher-end upgrades to special supports, relevant Memories, Divinity Slates and compatible gear affixes.

Recommended Equipment and Alternatives

Weapon - High-Damage War Repercussion Musket

A fast, well-crafted two-handed Musket with strong Weapon Attack Damage and Attack Skill bonuses is the most important purchase. Lightning Shot turns its Physical hit into Lightning damage. Projectile-related bonuses and Crit improve the finished package.

Alternative: Any strong two-handed Bow, Crossbow, Musket or Cannon with suitable attack affixes works while searching for the preferred base.

Helmet - Rare Evasion Helmet

Choose a high-Evasion rare with Max Life, Dexterity and missing Resistances. This slot is a convenient place to keep defenses strong without requiring another expensive unique.

Alternative: Blind Vision offers Projectile Speed and projectile-related benefits, but alters the skill support economy. Recheck your Wind Projectiles link if switching to it.

Body Armour - Lightning Striker's Sacrum

This Evasion chest increases Horizontal Projectile Skill levels and adds Lightning Damage to Attacks. Its movement-based Deflection effect is useful while Bing crosses maps and repositions between bombs.

Alternative: A crafted Evasion chest with Life, Dexterity and Resistances remains functional for T7 and early T8.

Gloves - Ralph's Laws

The major offensive legendary. It scales Lightning Damage and elemental penetration with Agility Blessing stacks, which makes Perception and consistent hits especially valuable.

Alternative: Rare Evasion gloves with Dexterity, Life and offensive attack affixes work during progression, but give up the main Agility Blessing multiplier.

Necklace - Rare Dexterity Amulet

Prioritize Dexterity, Lightning Hit damage, critical stats and defensive coverage. A strong rare can be upgraded gradually and does not force a secondary damage mechanic.

Alternative: A high-quality amulet emphasizing Projectile damage or maximum Life is reasonable if your other slots already provide substantial Dexterity.

Ring 1 - Rare Dexterity and Lightning Ring

Seek Dexterity, Lightning Damage to Attacks, Critical Strike bonuses and enough Resistances to maintain caps in difficult maps.

Alternative: Use a high-Life / Resistance rare when survivability becomes the bottleneck.

Ring 2 - Rare Life and Resistance Ring

Use the second ring to balance the build: maximum Life and missing Elemental Resistances take priority, followed by Lightning and Projectile damage.

Alternative: A more offensive Dexterity ring is possible once the defensive baseline is secure.

Belt - Rare Defensive Belt

Max Life, Evasion, Resistances and useful Dexterity or Blessing affixes make this a flexible slot. Avoid giving up substantial Life for a minor damage increase.

Alternative: A well-rolled high-tier defensive base can outperform a poorly matched legendary here.

Boots - Rare Evasion Boots

Movement Speed, Dexterity, Life and Resistances are the priorities. These boots also keep the character less dependent on premium corrupted legendaries.

Alternative: Ralphy's Journey can be considered in a higher-budget Agility-focused setup, provided the actual affixes suit your build.

7. Hero Memories, Divinity Slates and Pactspirits

After the firearm, main skill links and core equipment are in place, Hero Memories, Divinity Slates and Pactspirits provide the next damage upgrades. Prioritize effects that benefit Lightning Shot's projectile hits, Agility Blessing stacks and the defensive setup needed to keep Bing throwing bombs in difficult encounters.

Hero Memories

Look for useful Blast Nova trait levels, Attack Speed, Dexterity, Projectile Damage and Lightning Hit bonuses. Maximum Life and Evasion help round out aggressive equipment. Avoid investing in Spell or Damage Over Time bonuses that do little for Lightning Shot.

Divinity Slates

Prioritize Projectile Hit Damage, Lightning Damage, Projectile Speed, Attack Critical Strike stats and Agility Blessing effects. Projectile Speed supports Gale, while defensive Slate bonuses can reinforce Maximum Life, Evasion and Deflection as Timemark difficulty increases.

Pactspirits

Flower Whisperer and Traveling Lizard are worth considering for projectile-oriented bonuses, while Backup Power can contribute Attack Speed or utility when its bonuses fit the setup. Check the active Pact bonuses before investing, and keep a defensive option available if needed.

Tartarus Followers

Useful Followers can supply offensive buffs, enemy debuffs or protection during difficult encounters. Prioritize effects that stay active while Bing moves and throws bombs automatically. Reliable Numbed application is particularly valuable if the character relies on Conductive.

Agility Blessings and Projectile Damage

Perception helps maintain Agility Blessing stacks, and Ralph's Laws gives them additional offensive value. Projectile Speed becomes more attractive with Gale, so compatible Slate bonuses and Memories can strengthen more than one part of the damage package. Consistent Lightning Shot hits remain important for keeping these effects active on bosses.

Critical Strikes and Numbed

Fluke rewards a reliable Critical Strike setup, especially once the weapon has good Critical Strike Rating. Conductive adds value when enemies are Numbed; check whether your attacks and auxiliary effects apply it consistently during real boss fights. Improve Crit Rating and reliable Numbed application before investing heavily in expensive damage-only modifiers.

Keeping Bing Alive in Profound

Lightning Striker's Sacrum, Evasion-focused rare equipment, useful Deflection and Delayed Pain form the defensive package. Keep Elemental Resistances and Maximum Life in good shape, even when a more offensive Slate or Pactspirit is available. The build performs best when Bing can remain close enough for bombs to reach their targets.

Final Thoughts

Lightning Shot Bing 1 rewards players who want projectile-heavy combat with very little manual attacking. Firepower Coverage and Blast Barrage keep bombs moving through packs, while Dexterity and Agility Blessing help the character scale into harder maps.

Build around a strong two-handed weapon, a stable Lightning Shot support package and enough Life and Evasion to survive the occasional hit. After those pieces are working, refine your Blessing uptime, supports and bomb positioning for T8 and Profound.
