Sorceress specializes in dealing ranged elemental (fire, lightning, and ice) damage, and offers a perfect mix of engaging gameplay, slashy spells, solid DPS, and appealing aesthetics. As a result, she enjoys very high popularity among the Lost Ark player base. The two main Sorceress builds, based on her Class Engravings, are - RefluxReflux and IgniterIgniter. Today, we're going to take a closer look at the latter. 

Igniter Sorceress, unlike the RefluxReflux-based variant, favors burst damage over sustained DPS. The build is designed to do as much damage as possible in a very short burst window, followed by a build-up phase. In the late game (T2+), she can build up her Identity Gauge very quickly and dish out unparalleled amounts of damage in a very short time. As for her downsides: She offers only limited mobility, doesn't have Push Immunity on most of her spells, and requires good encounter knowledge because of her long casts.

Stat Priority

Igniter Sorceress scales very well with Specialization, which makes it your primary stat. As for the secondary stats, they largely depend on your preference: If you don't mind having even lower mobility, go for Crit - doing so will increase your burst damage potential even more. If you want some extra mobility and better resource generation, go for Swiftness - you'll have a bit easier time playing with the build as a result. Most likely, you'll end up with high Specialization and an even spread of Crit and Swiftness, as a balanced stat distribution tends to work well for most players. 




Sorceress creates and fires a flaming magic projectile. The projectile explodes upon hitting the target, dealing high amounts of Fire Damage, and knocking enemies into the air. 

This spell, despite its long channeling time and a rather slow projectile speed, is one of your most powerful offensive tools. It deals massive amounts of Fire Damage in a relatively small AoE. 

Note: There's a recoil animation at the end of the cast - it can be canceled with Spacebar Dodge, DoomsdayDoomsday, or Rime ArrowRime Arrow

Level 11

  1. [Level I] Ignite Ignite - On hit, the EXPLOSIONExplosion will set enemies on fire, burning them for additional fire damage over 5 seconds. This adds a nice DoT component to the skill. 
  2. [Level II] Weak Point Detection Weak Point Detection  - Increases Damage dealt to Push-Immune enemies by up to +60% (at Rank 5). With this, EXPLOSIONExplosion will deal considerably more damage to Bosses (as they tend to be Push-Immune). 
  3. [Level III] Magick Amplification Magick Amplification - On hit, outgoing damage +90% (at Rank 5). When in Magick Enhanced State or Arcane Torrent State, outgoing damage is increased by another 20%. 
  4. [RUNE] GalewindGalewind - Increase the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster and much easier to handle. 

Sorceress calls forth a massive meteor at the cursor location within 14 meters of her. The meteor crashes to the ground and inflicts high amounts of Fire damage to all enemies in range, knocking them back. 

This is your most powerful offensive spell, it has a very long Cooldown and a long channel time, though. Moreover, it's quite hard to hit moving targets with it as the meteor lands with a delay. Because of this, you should aim it very carefully or simply avoid trying to hit bosses when they're moving. You will want to shorten DOOMSDAYDoomsday's Cooldown with Arcane RuptureArcane Rupture

Level 11

  1. [Level I] Magick Control Magick Control - Reduces the Skill's mana cost by up to -67% (at Rank 5). This will improve your resource sustainability. 
  2. [Level II] Asteroid Asteroid - Unleashes a bigger and more powerful meteor that deals damage increased by 50% (at Rank 5). 
  3. [Level III] Magick Amplification Magick Amplification - On hit, outgoing damage +90% (at Rank 5). When in Magick Enhanced State or Arcane Torrent State, outgoing damage is increased by another 20%. 
  4. [RUNE] GalewindGalewind - Increase the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster, making it even better at dealing damage. 

Sorceress conjures a rectangular flame forward, scorching enemies for moderate amounts of damage and paralyzing them. Enemies are also set on fire for 5 seconds and receive minor periodic damage for the duration.

Thanks to the Damage Amplification Tripod, this is your main Team Synergy Skill. It offers +6% Damage to foes from all Group members with almost 100% potential uptime. It has a very fast cast time, so try to re-apply it often. 

Level 11

  1. [Level I] Damage Amplification Damage Amplification - On hit, Damage to Enemies from all Party Members +6.0% for 8.0 seconds. This Tripod is the main reason we're taking this Spell. 
  2. [Level II] Charge Flame Charge Flame - Changes to be stackable. The skill can now stack up to 2 times. This allows you to "pocket" more damage for an upcoming burst window and ensure 100% Damage Amplification Damage Amplification uptime during it. 
  3. [Level III] Weak Point Detection Weak Point Detection - Increases Damage dealt to Push-Immune enemies. With this, Blaze will deal considerably more damage to Bosses. 
  4. [RUNE] Quick RechargeQuick Recharge - Gives a chance to reduce all Cooldowns on skill use. This is a nice Rune to have on Blaze because of its short Cooldown. 

Sorceress causes a Cold Snap at the cursor location within 12 meters of herself, dealing high amounts of Water Damage to enemies split into 9 hits that occur over 4 seconds period. 

This is a solid ground-based offensive spell that generates a lot of Identity Gauge and deals a good amount of Stagger Damage. It can be used from a relatively safe distance and, with Unstable RuleUnstable Rule Tripod, it doesn't hurt your mobility as much.

Level 11

  1. [Level I] Mind Enhancement  Mind Enhancement - Reduces the spell's mana cost, making it much more economical to cast. You can opt for the Enlightenment Tripod instead, however, this Build does not rely on quick Identity Gauge generation but rather on spamming spells which can be resource-intensive. 
  2. [Level II] Unstable Rule Unstable Rule - Changes to Point and Normal mode (from the standard Holding mode). Immediately creates Frost energy on the desired spot for 2s. Total damage +15.0%. This makes Frost's Call much more dynamic, which is quite important as the build is starved for mobility and can't afford too many slow skills. 
  3. [Level III] Enhanced Strike Enhanced Strike - Increases the skill's outgoing Damage by 50% (at Rank 1). 
  4. [RUNE] Quick RechargeQuick Recharge - Gives a chance to reduce all Cooldowns on skill use. Most of your Cooldowns are very long, so having multiple Runes of this kind will definitely help. 

Sorceress creates multiple Ice Arrows at the cursor location within 14 meters of herself. The Arrows deal high amounts of Water Damage to all enemies who find themselves in range. 

This Spell generates a solid amount of Identity Gauge and has a relatively long range. It can be used for canceling the animations of PUNISHING STRIKEPunishing StrikeDOOMSDAYDoomsday, and EXPLOSIONExplosion

  • Stagger: Mid 
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity 

Level 11

  1. [Level I] Enlightenment Enlightenment - Increases the amount of Identity Gauge generated by the skill, when it hits, by up to 45% (at Rank 5). 
  2. [Level II] Piercing Strike Piercing Strike  - This makes Rime Arrow ignore a large portion of the enemy's Defense which results in a nice damage boost. 
  3. [Level III] Ice Pick Ice Pick - A simple tripod that increases Rime Arrow's outgoing damage by 60% (at Rank 1). 
  4. [RUNE] WealthWealth - With this Rune, your Identity Meter gained from using the ability will be increased by another 30% (with Epic Rune). 

Sorceress calls forth a giant Thunderstroke at the cursor location within 16 meters of her, dealing high amounts of Lightning Damage to all nearby enemies. 

This spell is your third strongest damage source and your main tool for dealing with Stagger Checks. It has a rather long channel time, but once it's fully channeled, it hits instantly. 

  • Stagger: High 
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity 

Level 11

  1. [Level I] Mind Enhancement  Mind Enhancement - Reduces the spell's mana cost, making it much more economical to cast. The two other available Level 1 Tripod choices are not worth it over this one. 
  2. [Level II] Electric Discharge Electric Discharge - Where lightning last struck, attack foes with an additional lightning explosion in a radius of 6.5 meters. Total Damage +20% (at Rank 1) and on enemies hit by the lightning explosion, inflict additional Electric Attack damage every 3 seconds. 
  3. [Level III] Magick Amplification Magick Amplification - On hit, outgoing damage +90% (at Rank 5). When in Magick Enhanced State or Arcane Torrent State, outgoing damage is increased by another 20%. 
  4. [RUNE] GalewindGalewind - Increase the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster, making it even stronger. 

Sorceress creates a Magick Crystal within 12 meters of cursor location. The Crystal evolves by levels up to level 3, at which point it detonates, dealing high amounts of damage to all nearby enemies knocking them back in the process.

This is a powerful offensive spell with a high range - you can use it from a relatively safe distance. Moreover, it generates a solid amount of Identity Gauge. 

  • Weak Point: Level 1 
  • Stagger: Mid 

Level 11

  1. [Level I] Quick Preparation Quick Preparation - Lowers the Skill's Cooldown by 5 seconds (at Rank 1). This Tripod will cut a considerable portion of ESOTERIC REACTIONEsoteric Reaction's Cooldown. 
  2. [Level II] Enhanced Strike  Enhanced Strike  - Increases the skill's outgoing Damage by 35% (at Rank 1). 
  3. [Level III] Stabilized Crystal Stabilized Crystal - Create a crystal that is completed in 3 levels. Explosion range -20%. Damage +40% (at Rank 1). This Tripod condenses Esoteric Reaction to a smaller area, but it also boosts its damage in the process. 
  4. [RUNE] Quick RechargeGalewind - Increase the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster. 

Sorceress creates a powerful whirlwind in front of her, inflicting 3 hits that deal moderate amounts of Damage and then pushing enemies while scoring yet another damaging hit. 

This will serve as your main Counter Skill and won't be a part of your standard rotation. If you have some free Skill Points, feel free to invest them here.

Note: Alternatively, you can swap SQUALLSquall for InfernoInferno. InfernoInferno offers a nice Part Break and generates a lot of Identity Gauge. 

  • Attack Type: Frontal Attack 
  • Counter: Yes

Level 1

  1. [RUNE] RageRage - Gives you a chance to gain an Attack Speed/Move Speed buff for 6 seconds after the Skill is used. This Rune will help you increase the speed of your rotation. 

Sorceress releases lightning energy from her rod, inflicting moderate amounts of damage to enemies. Then, she pulls the released energy back to the center, dealing multiple devastating hits to all enemies in range. After that, she gathers up the enemies in one spot to cause a massive explosion that deals very high amounts of Lightning Damage. 

This is an extremely powerful, multi-hit, nuke spell that can turn any encounter in your favor. You should always discuss its use with your teammates as wasting it is a huge pitfall that should be avoided at all costs. 

  • Stagger: High 


Rotation/Skill Usage

  • You should always try to maintain BLAZEBlaze's debuff on the Boss. 
  • SquallSquall is your main Counter Skill - use it as needed. 
  • Don't shy away from using BLAZEBlaze and SquallSquall when everything else is on Cooldown. This will allow you to generate some mode Gauge and avoid unnecessary downtime. 
  • Use BlinkBlink only in life-threatening situations as it drains your Identity Gauge and, as a result, lowers your DPS. 
  • The main aim of your standard rotation is to generate the Identity Gauge quickly so that you can enter your Burst phase. Esoteric ReactionEsoteric Reaction, Frost's CallFrost's Call, and Rime Arrow Rime Arrow are your main Gauge generators. 
  • You should end your Identity Gauge build-up rotation with DoomsdayDoomsday
  • You can cancel some of your skill animations to smooth out your rotation. The optimal canceling sequence is ExplosionExplosion ⇒ Punishing StrikePunishing Strike ⇒ Rime ArrowRime Arrow
  • Your Build-up Phase and Burst Phase consist of the same skill sequence (featured below). The only thing to keep in mind is to save  Doomsday Doomsday for the Burst phase if your Gauge is almost full. 

Your basic Rotation looks as follows: 

  1. Use BLAZEBlaze to apply your team synergy (weave this between your casts to maintain the buff) 
  2. Activate Arcane RuptureArcane Rupture if on full Identity Gauge to enter the Burst phase 
  3. Use Explosion Explosion 
  4. Use Punishing Strike Punishing Strike 
  5. Use Rime Arrow Rime Arrow 
  6. Use Esoteric Reaction Esoteric Reaction 
  7. Use Frost's Call  Frost's Call 
  8. Use  Doomsday Doomsday (skip this if your Gauge is almost full to save the Cooldown for the burst phase) 
  9. Rinse and Repeat 


Recommended Engravings

  1. IgniterIgniter (Class Engraving) - When the Magick Amplification is triggered, normal skills' Cooldown is reduced by 50%. During Magick Amplification, Crit Rate, your Crit Rate is increased by (Level 1: 10%, Level 2: 17%, Level 3: 25%) and your Crit Damage is increased by (Level 1: 20%, level 2: 35%, Level 3: 50%). 

This amazing Engraving gives you everything you need to ensure that you can deal massive burst damage: Cooldown Reduction, Crit Rate, and Crit Damage. IgniterIgniter is the core of this build and pretty much everything else is built around it. You should have it at Level 3 as fast as you can. 

  1. All-Out AttackAll-Out Attack -  Increases holding and casting speed of holding and casting skills by (Level 1: 5%, Level 2: 10%, Level3: 20%) and damage by (Level 1: 4%, Level 2: 10%, Level 3:20%). 

This Engraving is a must-have as it reduces your cast times considerably. Spells like ExplosionExplosion and DoomsdayDoomsday benefit from this one a lot. 

  1. Hit MasterHit Master - Increases the damage of the attacks that do not correspond to back attack or front attack by (Level 1: 3%, Level 2: 8%, Level 3: 16%). This effect does not apply to Awakenings. 

This is a perfect engraving for an Igniter Sorceress as most of her spells don't have any positional requirements. It effectively gives you the same effect as Cursed Doll, but without the drawback, which makes it extremely powerful (what's better than an unconditional DPS increase without downsides?). 

  1. AwakeningPrecise Dagger  - Increases critical hit rate by (Level 1: 4%, Level 2: 10%, Level 3: 20%), but reduces critical damage by 12%. 

Having a high Crit Rate is very important for the Igniter Sorceress. In general, there are two Engravings that can give it to you: AdrenalineAdrenaline and AwakeningPrecise Dagger. AdrenalineAdrenaline turns out to be a bad choice because of the long Cooldowns. Luckily, AwakeningPrecise Dagger works extremely well with the build. This amazing Engraving makes your Critical Strikes much more consistent at the cost of reduced Critical Damage. It's well worth the drawback as ensuring Critical Hits during your burst windows is paramount for the build. 

  1. GrudgeGrudge - Increases your Damage Dealt to Bosses (Level 1: +4%, Level 2: +10%, Level 3: +20%), but makes you take 20% more damage from them. 

This Engraving is extremely powerful, but it will punish you if you make a mistake. If you can live with the downside, it will serve you as an unconditional damage increase. Pick it up if you feel like you can avoid most (or all) avoidable damage during boss encounters. If you're still learning mechanics, you'll be better off skipping it. It's only worth using at Level 3, so never use it at level 2 and especially 1 (unless you want to take 5% more damage for every 1% increase in your own DPS). 

  1. Cursed DollCursed Doll - Increases Attack Power at the cost of reduced 25% Healing Received (does not affect natural Health recovery (Level 1 - +3% Attack Power, Level 2 - 8% Attack Power, Level 3 - +16% Attack Power).

This Engraving can boost your offensive power rather significantly, but the tradeoff is painful. Only pick it if you know encounter mechanics very well; If you lack experience, skip it. Also, using this at Levels 1 and 2 is not worth the risks involved (so, use it at Level 3 or don't use it at all). Cursed DollCursed Doll is often taken instead of the Hit MasterHit Master as these two don't synergize with each other (they apply their bonuses separately) - in the case of this build, Hit Muster is a much better choice, however. You can pick Cursed DollCursed Doll as your last Engraving. 


Gear Sets, Gems, Cards, etc.

  • Gear Sets - As a DPS Class, Sorceress wants Her set to boost her offensive capabilities as much as possible. Here are the optimal Sets for each Tier: 
    • Tier 1: Seraphic Oath Set (Epic); Boisterous Elemental Set (Legendary) 
    • Tier 2: Marvelous Earth Set (Epic); Unyielding Will Set (Legendary) 
    • Tier 3: Twisted Dimensional Set (Epic); Preordained Diligence Set (Legendary) 
  • Gems -  With these, you can apply a Cooldown Reduction or Bonus Damage to your Skills. There is a limit of 11 Gems; you should distribute them in the following way: 
    • You should use Cooldown Reduction Gems on the following Skills: Esoteric ReactionEsoteric ReactionFrost's CallFrost's CallPunishing StrikePunishing StrikeExplosionExplosionDoomsday Doomsday 
    • You should use Attack Gems on the following Skills: Rime ArrowRime Arrow, Esoteric ReactionEsoteric Reaction, Frost's CallFrost's Call, Punishing StrikePunishing Strike, ExplosionExplosion, Doomsday Doomsday 
  • Cards - Depending on your budget, you should go for one of the following Card Sets: 
    • Light of Salvation Set - A Full set offers +30% Dark Damage Reduction, changes your Damage type to Holy, and increases your Holy Damage dealt by 15%. 
    • Lostwind Cliff Set - A Full set offers +25% Dark Damage Reduction and +7% Critical Rate. This one is the cheaper of the recommended two.
