The Hammer of the Gods is a Skill that delivers the most amount of Damage in a single Hit in the entire Path of Exile 2. It manifests a powerful Hammer created by the Gods themselves to crush your enemies. It slowly falls from the sky to a specified area, dealing over 1000% of your Weapon Damage. It can't be used too often, as it has an initial Cooldown of 24 seconds, which you can reduce with Cooldown Recovery Rate modifiers on your Passive Tree and Items. It works very well with Damaging Ailments that deal additional Damage over the next few seconds based on the initial Hit, such as Bleed or Ignite.
With such a long Cooldown, the Hammer of Godes shouldn't be used lightly on weaker enemies. To deal with numerous, but weak hordes of enemies you should the Rolling Slam which deals a moderate amount of Damage in a decent range, but also causes you to move towards the targeted direction for extra Speed. It also has a higher chance of Stunning enemies, ensuring they can't escape from the falling Hammer of the Gods. If you use the Seismic Cry while a Stunned Enemy is in your presence, your next Slam will create additional Aftershocks. Use this opportunity to make your Hammer of Gods even more deadlier.
The Titan Ascendency is a great choice for most Melee Builds, as it greatly boosts your survivability via maximum Life and Armour. It also causes you to deal 40% More Damage to Stunned Enemies, which should be paired with a well-timed Hammer of the Gods.

Use Rolling Slam to Stun Enemies, which will lock them in place and increase the Damage taken from you, then finish them with the Hammer of the Gods. Against Bosses, you should also use a Curse to lower their defence, and potentially Break their Armour.

Use a Two-handed Mace with the largest amount of Physical Damage you can find, Attack Speed is not important as you will be limited mostly by the Cooldown. For defense focus on maximum Life and Elemental Resistance. Your main form of mitigation comes from the Armour.
