Death Strike/Loyal Companion Sharpshooter Lost Ark Build

Death Strike/Loyal Companion Sharpshooter Lost Ark Build

PvE Raiding setup for Sharpshooter based on Loyal Companion and Death Strike Engravings

 Death Strike/Loyal Companion Sharpshooter
PvE Raiding Build
for Lost Ark

Last Update: 15th April 2022

Introduction

Sharpshooter is a dynamic and very mobile ranged Character able to deal devastating critical blows with a bow and can hold its own in a melee with some of his skills. Once his Hawk Meter is full, he can also unleash a fierce Silverhawk on his foes. When it comes to defenses, he's forced to rely on his mobility as his physical resilience is rather lacking. Contrary to what you might deduce from the above statement, the class is actually quite easy to play, as it does not require high APM - just keep in mind that with a Sharpshooter skill is rewarded and mistakes are almost always punished.

Unlike most other classes, Sharpshooter's Class Engravings (Loyal CompanionLoyal Companion and Death StrikeDeath Strike) pair well with each other. Because of this, we made use of both of them in the featured build. Both of these Engravings revolve around building up your Hawk Meter and make you perform much better once you summon your Silverhawk, so we've optimized the build for fast Identity Meter gains. We also went for high Crit as the stat complements Sharpshooter's skill set very well. The main downsides of this build (and the Sharpshooter in general) are the rather weak Stagger Damage and bad performance during Destruction Checks.

Stat Priority

Sharpshooter's Skills benefit a lot from additional Crit Rate, so Crit is going to be your main stat, no matter what. Your secondary stats should depend on your chosen Class Engravings:

  • If you run Loyal CompanionLoyal Companion and Death StrikeDeath Strike, You should aim for ~20 Swiftness, ~20 Specialization, and ~60% Crit.
  • If you decide to run only Loyal CompanionLoyal Companion, the value of Crit will lower and you'll want to mainly focus on Swiftness. You should have Swiftness on all of your accessories and Crit on your Necklace and a Ring.
  • For a Death StrikeDeath Strike-only setup, Crit is extremely valuable and it should be complemented by some Specialization. Run Crit on all your accessories and get a necklace that also has Specialization on it.

Skills

CHARGED SHOT
CHARGED SHOT

Sharpshooter Charges a shot to inflict a different amount of Damage depending on the charge stage: low amounts of damage before fully charged, moderate amounts at Stage 1, and high amounts of Damage when overcharged. Enemies will be knocked away at 1 or higher charge stage.

This becomes very powerful and quick to use with the Fast Fire Fast Fire Tripod (as this disconnects Skill's Damage from the charge level). It will serve as your main source of Stagger Damage.

  • Part Break: Level 1
  • Stagger: Mid
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 12

  1. [Level I] Quick Preparation Quick Preparation  - Reduces the skill's Cooldown by up to -8s (at Rank 5). This potentially cuts 1/3 of CHARGED SHOTCharged Shot's base Cooldown, which is massive.
  2. [Level II] Double Shot  Double Shot - With this, you will fire 2 arrows when using the Charged ShotCharged Shot. Skill Damage increased by up to +80% (at Rank 5).
  3. [Level III] Fast Fire Fast Fire - Range increases with Charge level. Outgoing Damage not impacted by Charge level. Arrow explodes at the target destination, inflicting +66.5% Damage (at Rank 5). With this, CHARGED SHOTCharged Shot will always deal its full damage, which is great.
  4. [RUNE] FocusFocus - This Rune lowers the skill's Mana consumption by quite a lot, making it much more cost-effective.
SHARP SHOOTER
SHARP SHOOTER

Sharpshooter holds his bow sideways and concentrates energy on the handle, shooting 10 arrows at once. Each Arrow inflicts moderate amounts of damage, up to 3 arrows can hit the same enemy.

With the proposed build, this skill has a very high Crit chance and can deal increased damage to a single enemy. Moreover, it deals some Stagger Damage, which is Important as the build needs it a lot.

  • Stagger: Mid

Level 12

  1. [Level I] Vital Point Hit Vital Point Hit - Improves the skill's Critical Rate by up to +40% (at Rank 5).
  2. [Level II] Weak Point Detection Weak Point Detection - Increases the skill's Damage to Push-Immune enemies by up to +70% (at Rank 5). Bosses are push-immune, so this serves as a nice damage increase during Raids.
  3. [Level III] Focus Shot Focus Shot - Hits the same enemy with up to 5 arrows. Crit Damage +100.0% (at Rank 5). This greatly increases the skill's potential Single Target damage and pairs well with Vital Point HitVital Point Hit
  4. [RUNE] FocusFocus - This Rune lowers the skill's Mana consumption by quite a lot, making it much more cost-effective.
SNIPE
SNIPE

Sharpshooter carefully aims at his enemies (by holding down the skill Hotkey). Then, he fires a single powerful arrow that inflicts moderate amounts of damage. If the Perfect Zone is hit, the damage done by this skill is increased approximately 4 times.

This is your most powerful offensive skill, but it requires you to hit the Perfect Zone. If you miss it, you'll lose ~75% of its potential damage so aim carefully. It also deals some nice Stagger Damage.

  • Stagger: Mid-High

Level 12

  1. [Level I] Quick Preparation Quick Preparation  - Reduces the skill's Cooldown by up to -11s (at Rank 5). This potentially cuts over 1/3 of SNIPESnipe's base Cooldown, which is massive.
  2. [Level II] Weak Point Detection Weak Point Detection - Increases the skill's Damage to Challenge-type or higher enemies by up to +72.5% (at Rank 5). On Perfect Zone hit, the damage is increased by up to +145% (at Rank 5) instead.
  3. [Level III] Easy Prey Easy Prey -  Increases the size of Perfect Zone. On Perfect Hit, the skill's Crit Rate is increased by 30% and its Crit Damage is increased by up to +160% (at Rank 5).
  4. [RUNE] GalewindGalewind - Increase the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster, making it much more dynamic.
ARROW WAVE
ARROW WAVE

Sharpshooter sends a tornado arrow flying at the target. The arrow periodically deals damage to all enemies in its range. The Tornado Arrow can hit the same enemy up to 4 times.

This is a powerful skill that deals a lot of damage with an increased critical chance. It will serve as one of your main attacks.

Level 12

  1. [Level I] Enhanced Arrow Enhanced Arrow - Makes the arrow spin stronger, increasing its Critical Rate by up to +40% (at Rank 5).
  2. [Level II] Slow Tide Slow Tide - Decreases the speed of the arrow tornado, but increases the hit count by +1. With Wave Streak Wave Streak tripod, the hit count does not increase. Skill's Damage is also increased by up to +80% (at Rank 5).
  3. [Level III] Wave Streak Wave Streak - Changes to a fast 3 hit tornado attack that travels forward in a straight line. Cooldown +8 seconds. Outgoing Damage +260% (at Rank 5).
  4. [RUNE] GalewindGalewind - Increase the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster, making it much more dynamic.
ATOMIC ARROW
ATOMIC ARROW

Sharpshooter aims his bow and shoots an explosive arrow that inflicts low amounts of damage on hit and explodes after 2 seconds, knocking enemies down and dealing high amounts of blast damage.

This is your team synergy skill as it will apply the Amplified Damage Amplified Damage debuff on every enemy damaged by its blast. Its short cooldown should allow you to keep the debuff active almost all the time.

  • Stagger: Mid

Level 11

  1. [Level I] Amplified Damage  Amplified Damage - On explosion hit, Damage to enemies from all Party Members increased by 6% for 8 seconds.
  2. [Level II] Enhanced Arrowhead Enhanced Arrowhead - Explosion Crit Rate +60% (at Rank 5). With Lightning Arrow, Electrocution duration increased by 50%.
  3. [Level III] Long Fuse Long Fuse - Explosion delay increases from 2s to 3s, but the explosion Inflicts +116% Damage (at Rank 5). This makes ATOMIC ARROWAtomic Arrow slightly less reliable but the bonus damage is worth it.
  4. [RUNE] BleedBleed -  This Rune makes ATOMIC ARROWAtomic Arrow inflict all enemies hit with a Bleeding effect for 6 seconds. Thanks to ATOMIC ARROWAtomic Arrow's low cooldown, Bleed provides a nice boost to DPS.
BLADE STORM
BLADE STORM

Sharpshooter quickly spins around and throws blades that inflict 6 hits on enemies. Then, he throws another round of blades that inflict damage three more times.

This is a melee attack, so it will complicate your rotation a bit as you'll have to enter melee range (preferably behind the boss). It's a mush-have, however, as it increases your Hawk Meter gains by a lot.

  • Stagger: Low
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 10

  1. [Level I] Silver Master Silver Master - Increases your Hawk Meter gains from BLADE STORMBlade Storm by up to +18 (at Rank 5) from every 3rd hit. The Skill deals up to 9 hits baseline, so you can benefit from this Tripod 3 times per single skill use (if every blade hits its target, extra hits generated with Tripods also count).
  2. [Level II] Lightning Blade Lightning Blade - Changes the skill's element to Lightning and makes the last attack send off an additional Lightning Blade that spins in 4 directions, increasing the skill's AoE Radius at certain angles. Last attack's Crit Damage is increased by up to +330% (at Rank 5).
  3. [Level III] Blade Dance Blade Dance - Lengthens the spinning attack, and enables movement during the attack. Repeats the last attack. Outgoing Damage of the last attack is increased by up to +22% (at Rank 5). This gives you direct control over the BLADE STORMBlade Storm's direction, making it much more reliable, and increases its damage by quite a lot.
  4. [RUNE] WealthWealth - With this Rune, your Hawk Meter gain from using the ability will be increased by a rather large amount (the exact value varies depending on the Rune's rarity). This is a nice buff to your Silverhawk's uptime.
DEADLY SLASH
DEADLY SLASH

Sharpshooter quickly strikes with his dagger, dealing moderate amounts of damage.

This is your Counter Attack that also serves as a handy Hawk Meter generator. You'll have to go into the melee range to use it.

  • Attack Type: Frontal Attack, Back Attack
  • Counter: Yes

Level 10

  1. [Level I] Silver Master Silver Master - Increases your Hawk Meter gains from DEADLY SLASHDeadly Slash by up to +45 (at Rank 5).
  2. [Level II] Sawtooth Blade Sawtooth Blade  - Enemies hit with DEADLY SLASHDeadly Slash suffer from blood loss, losing health every second for 5 seconds. This adds a nice Damage over Time effect to the skill.
  3. [Level III] Double Slash Double Slash - Attack one more time, inflicting 141% of Base Damage (at Rank 5). The extra attack has a 20% chance to inflict 400% Damage. This is a dice roll, but the alternative is a PvP-centered effect.
  4. [RUNE] WealthWealth - With this Rune, your Hawk Meter gain from using the ability will be increased by a rather large amount (the exact value varies depending on the Rune's rarity). This is a nice buff to your Silverhawk's uptime.
MOVING SLASH
MOVING SLASH

Sharpshooter moves 8 meters forward, dealing moderate amounts of damage.

This is your mobility skill and a repositioning tool, but not only that. With the Silver Master Silver Master Tripod, MOVING SLASHMoving Slash also helps you accumulate your Hawk Meter much faster.

  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 7

  1. [Level I] Excellent Mobility Excellent Mobility - Increases the Skill's move distance by up to +3 meters (at Rank 5).
  2. [Level II] Silver Master Silver Master  - Increases your Hawk Meter gains from MOVING SLASHMoving Slash by up to +53 (at Rank 5) if you hit an enemy with it.
  3. [RUNE] RageRage - Gives you a chance to gain an Attack Speed/Move Speed buff for 6 seconds when MOVING SLASHMoving Slash is used. This Rune will help you increase the speed of your rotation and make this skill even better as a mobility tool.
AWAKENING
GOLDEN EYE
GOLDEN EYE

Sharpshooter summons 4 Golden Hawks that fly around and create a devastating whirlwind that gradually grows stronger, inflicting high amounts of Damage as it launches enemies in the air. Sharpshooter becomes Stealthed for 7 seconds with the creation of the whirlwind. Stealth is not canceled by receiving Damage and lets him move past enemies (it removes model collision, basically).

This is a powerful skill that activates much faster than the alternative (Fenrir's MessengerFenrir's Messenger) and guarantees solid Damage.

  • Stagger: Mid

Skill Usage/Rotation

  • With the Death StrikeDeath Strike Engraving, you will enter an 8-second burst window every time you use Last Rush Last Rush. Because of this, you should follow it with all your offensive skills.
  • If your Hawk Meter is full, but your main offensive skills are on cooldown, wait for them to recharge before summoning your Summon SilverhawkSilverhawk. In the meantime, continue your standard rotation by using skills that are off cooldown.
  • If your main offensive skills are ready, but your Hawk Meter isn't full, you should prioritize using your Hawk Meter generators and use your main damage dealers after it's full and you've triggered the Summon SilverhawkSilverhawk
  • With Loyal CompanionLoyal Companion, but without Death StrikeDeath Strike, you should focus on using Wings of Storm Wings of Storm and use Last Rush Last Rush only when your Hawk Meter has almost run out.

Your Skill Rotation looks as follows:

  1. If your Hawk Meter is not full, focus on Identity Gauge generation by using any of the following skills (use whichever is available, if they're all on Cooldown, skip this step):
    • Deadly Slash Deadly Slash
    • Blade Storm Blade Storm
    • Moving Slash Moving Slash
  2. Use Atomic ArrowAtomic Arrow to apply the Amplified Damage Amplified Damage debuff.
  3. If your Hawk Meter is full, use the following sequence (otherwise skip to the next step):
    1. Use Summon SilverhawkSummon Silverhawk
    2. Use Wings of Storm Wings of Storm
    3. Use Last Rush Last Rush
  4. Use the following Rotation:
    1. Use Snipe Snipe
    2. Use Charged Shot Charged Shot
    3. Use Arrow Wave Arrow Wave
    4. Use Sharp Shooter Sharp Shooter
  5. Rinse and repeat

Recommended Engravings

  1. Loyal CompanionLoyal Companion (Class Engraving) - Summons Silverhawk MK-II, allowing Move Speed +4%, Silver Hawk's Basic AoE Radius +60%, Silverhawk's Basic Attack Damage (Level 1: +50%, Level 2: +100%, Level 3: +150%) and Silverhawk's summon duration (level 1: +30%, Level 2: +60%, Level 3: +100%). On basic attack or Wings of Storm hit, foes get a Mark of Death. Enemy incoming damage (Level 1: +4%, Level 2: +8%, Level 3: +12%). Additionally, your natural Hawk Meter Recovery during combat is increased by (Level 1: +10%, Level 2: +20%, Level 3: +30%).

This makes you move faster and makes your target more susceptible to damage from all sources while the Silverhawk is at your side. Moreover, it works extremely well with Last Lush, as it also increases your Identity Gauge recovery rate. You should have this at Level 3 eventually (if you went for Death StrikeDeath Strike first, focus on other Engravings and get this one as your 4th or 5th one - at Tier 3).

  1. Death StrikeDeath Strike (Class Engraving) - When the Last Rush is used, recover 50% of the remaining Hawk Meter. Hit enemy damage taken is increased by (Level 1: 20%, Level 2: 30%, Level 3: 40%) for 8 seconds.

This has the potential to recover half of your Identity Gauge (keep in mind that it recovers half of the remaining Hawk Meter, so the more you have, the less you'll get from this). It also gives you a nice burst window whenever you use Last Rush. You should have this at Level 3 eventually (if you went for Loyal CompanionLoyal Companion first, focus on other Engravings and get this one as your 4th or 5th one - at Tier 3).

  1. Hit MasterHit Master - Increases the damage of attacks that do not correspond to back attack or front attack by (Level 1: 3%, Level 2: 8%, Level 3: 16%). This effect does not apply to Awakenings.

Most of the Skills you will be using won't require you to strike from the back or from the front. Because of this, Hit MasterHit Master is very strong for the build. It effectively gives you the same effect as Cursed DollCursed Doll, but without the drawback.

  1. Keen Blunt Weapon Keen Blunt Weapon - Increases your Crit Damage (Level 1: +10%, Level 2: +25%, Level 3: +50%) but also gives your attacks a chance to deal 20% Reduced Damage.

The more Critical Chance you have, the more beneficial this is. As a Sharpshooter, you get a lot of high Crit Rate skills, which makes this Engraving a solid option.

  1. GrudgeGrudge - Increases your Damage Dealt to Bosses (Level 1: +4%, Level 2: +10%, Level 3: +20%), but makes you take 20% more damage from them.

Grudge is one of the most powerful offensive Engravings, but it comes with a severe drawback that may get you killed. If you can live with the downside, it will serve you as an unconditional damage increase. Pick it up if you feel like you can avoid most (or all) avoidable damage during boss encounters. If you're still learning mechanics, you'll be better off skipping it.

Note: Remember that it's only worth using at Level 3, so never use it at level 2 and especially 1 (unless you want to take 5% more damage for every 1% increase in your own DPS).

  1. Raid CaptainRaid Captain - Increases Damage Dealt by a percentage (Level 1: +10%, Level 2: +22%, Level 3: +45%) of basic Move Speed Bonus.

While it is mostly used in a combination with Spirit AbsorptionSpirit Absorption on budget builds and alts, this Engraving is actually very strong for a Sharpshooter. Raid CaptainRaid Captain strongly synergizes with Loyal CompanionLoyal Companion, so Spirit Absorption is not required to make it work. Take this only if you run Loyal CompanionLoyal Companion with high Swiftness.

  1. Cursed DollCursed Doll - Increases Attack Power at the cost of reduced 25% Healing Received (does not affect natural Health recovery (Level 1 - +3% Attack Power, Level 2 - 8% Attack Power, Level 3 - +16% Attack Power).

This Engraving is very powerful and very dangerous to its user, just like Grudge. Only pick it if you know encounter mechanics very well. If you lack experience, skip it. Also, this is a BiS Engraving for Tier 3 content.

Gear Sets, Gems, Cards, etc.

  • Gear Sets - As a DPS Class, Sharpshooter wants his set to boost his offensive capabilities as much as possible. Here are the optimal Sets for each Tier:
    • Tier 1: Seraphic Oath Set (Epic); Boisterous Elemental Set (Legendary)
    • Tier 2: Marvelous Earth Set (Epic); Unyielding Will Set (Legendary)
    • Tier 3: Twisted Dimensional Set (Epic); Preordained Diligence Set (Legendary)
  • Gems -  With these, you can apply a Cooldown Reduction or Bonus Damage to your Skills. There is a limit of 11 Gems; you should distribute them in the following way:
    • You should use Cooldown Reduction Gems on the following Skills: Blade StormBlade StormSharp ShooterSharp ShooterArrow WaveArrow WaveCharged ShotCharged ShotSnipeSnipe
    • You should use Attack Gems on the following Skills: Blade StormBlade Storm, Sharp ShooterSharp Shooter, Arrow WaveArrow Wave, Charged ShotCharged Shot, SnipeSnipe, Atomic ArrowAtomic Arrow
  • Cards - Depending on your budget, you should go for one of the following Card Sets:
    • Light of Salvation Set - A Full set offers +30% Dark Damage Reduction, changes your Damage type to Holy, and increases your Holy Damage dealt by 15%.
    • Lostwind Cliff Set - A Full set offers +25% Dark Damage Reduction and +7% Critical Rate. This one is the cheaper of the recommended two.
