Berserker's Technique Berserker Lost Ark Build

Berserker's Technique Berserker Lost Ark Build

A DPS setup that utilizes the Berserker's Technique Class Engraving

 Berserker's Technique Berserker
PvE Raiding Build
for Lost Ark

Last Update: 30th May 2022

Introduction

Berserker couples a set of Heavy Armor with a gigantic 2-Handed Sword and a complete disregard for his own safety. He's a fierce, and fairly mobile, offensively-focused melee fighter that can withstand quite a lot of incoming damage. His AoE attacks are among the easiest to use, thanks to their wide arcs. He has a tremendous burst damage potential that comes from His Awakening Skills. Berserker has two Raid-worthy builds, both centered around his Class Engravings: Berserker's TechniqueBerserker's Technique and MayhemMayhem. The following build makes use of the former.

Berserker's Technique Berserker, thanks to his signature Engraving, does not suffer from the Exhaustion debuff after his Burst Mode ends. Moreover, he takes huge advantage of a massively increased Crit Damage when the Burst Mode is active. Sadly, unlike the Mayhem Berserker, He can't simply stay in the Burst Mode for as long as He likes. As a result, Berserker's Technique Berserker has two distinct combat phases: A burst phase when he obliterates everything in his Burst Mode and has access to a powerful nuke Skill - Bloody RushBloody Rush, and a build-up phase when he generates his Fury Meter and feels a bit sluggish.

Stat Priority

Berserker's Technique Berserker benefits from highly increased Crit Damage, Crit Rate, Attack Speed, and Movement Speed when in Burst Mode. Because of this Crit and Swiftness are not his top priority. Instead, he focuses on Specialization, which increases his Fury Meter gains, improves his Awakening Skill, and makes his Burst Mode last longer. The recommended Stat Build for a Berserker's Technique Berserker is:

  • Specialization-focused Build - You should dedicate all your Accessories to Specialization and have Crit on your Necklace. In the late, late game, you can experiment with your Gear and aim for ~1400 Specialization, ~450 Crit, and ~350 Swiftness.

Skills

FINISH STRIKE
FINISH STRIKE

Berserker thrusts his greatsword down, dealing high amounts of damage.

This powerful and versatile offensive skill deals high damage with a very high Stagger. Also, thanks to the TenacityTenacity, it gives you the ability to simply ignore some push-based boss mechanics. Because of these factors, it's a very reliable tool during both Burst Phases and Stagger Checks.

  • Weak Point: Level 2
  • Stagger: High
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity, Push Immunity (with TenacityTenacity Tripod)

Level 12

  1. [Level I] TenacityTenacity - Grants you Push Immunity whenever you use FINISH STRIKEFinish Strike
  2. [Level II] Weak Point Detection Weak Point Detection - Increases Damage dealt to Push-Immune enemies by up to +70% (at Rank 5). With this, FINISH STRIKEFinish Strike will deal considerably more damage to Bosses (as they tend to be Push-Immune).
  3. [Level III] Lights OutLights Out - Changes the Skill to Combo Mode but increases its cooldown by 6 seconds. The second attack deals up to 205% Damage (at Rank 5). With this, you trade skill recharge time for more concentrated damage - worth it.
  4. [RUNE] GalewindGalewind - Increases the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster. This works very well with FINISH STRIKEFinish Strike
TEMPEST SLASH
TEMPEST SLASH

Berserker charges 4 meters toward the target location and slashes at enemies, dealing moderate amounts of damage and launching them into the air. Use as a combo to make him deliver a spinning attack, dealing 2 powerful hits instead of one before landing a downward blow that deals high amounts of damage.

This is a solid, hard-hitting, offensive skill that deals good Stagger and generates a lot of Burst Meter (thanks to the Focus Focus Tripod).

  • Weak Point: Level 1
  • Stagger: Mid
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 12

  1. [Level I] Focus Focus - Increases Fury Meter Gain by up to +75% (at Rank 5). This is a must-have as fast Fury Meter gains are essential to increase the build's overall DPS.
  2. [Level II] Weak Point Detection Weak Point Detection - Increases Damage dealt to Push-Immune enemies by up to +70% (at Rank 5). With this, TEMPEST SLASHTempest Slash will deal considerably more damage to Bosses (as they tend to be Push-Immune).
  3. [Level III] Driving Hit Driving Hit - Removes the 1st attack and makes the aerial spinning attack pain 3 times. Increases outgoing Damage by up to +95% (at Rank 5).
  4. [RUNE] WealthWealth - With this Rune, your Fury Meter gain from using the ability will be increased by another 40% (with a Legendary Rune). This is a nice buff to your Burst Mode's uptime.
WIND BLADE
WIND BLADE

Berserker swings His Greatsword and charges through enemies, dealing high amounts of Damage.

This amazing skill is second only to your Awakening in terms of Fury Meter generation. Moreover, it deals solid Stagger. You should use it on Cooldown to maximize your Identity Gauge gains.

  • Stagger: Mid
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 12

  1. [Level I] Quick Preparation Quick Preparation - Reduces the Skill's Cooldown by up to -7 seconds (at Rank 5). This can potentially cut over 1/3 of WIND BLADEWind Blade's Base Cooldown, which is massive.
  2. [Level II] Focus Focus - Increases Fury Meter Gain by up to +150% (at Rank 5). This is a must-have as fast Fury Meter gains are essential to increase the build's overall DPS.
  3. [Level III] WindswiftWindswift - Quickly spin and glide, attacking enemies in your path. The skill's total Damage is increased by up to +70% (at Rank 5).
  4. [RUNE] WealthWealth - With this Rune, your Fury Meter gain from using the ability will be increased by another 40% (with a Legendary Rune). This is a nice buff to your Burst Mode's uptime.
HELL BLADE
HELL BLADE

Berserker thrusts his greatsword into the ground, dealing moderate amounts of damage. Hold the skill for 1.5s to make him attack another 6 times and inflict even more damage. If you hit the Perfect Zone, Berserker will deliver a finishing blow that deals very high amounts of damage and launches enemies in the air.

This Skill serves two purposes. Firstly, it can be used as a handy repositioning tool and a gap closer that also deals solid Damage. Secondly, it deals massive Stagger which makes it one of your main tools for dealing with Stagger Checks.

  • Stagger: High
  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 12

  1. [Level I] LeapLeap - Using HELL BLADEHell Blade now makes you leap over to a target location within up to 10 meters (at Rank 5) range before attacking.
  2. [Level II] MeltMelt - Increases Hell Blade Damage per hit by up to +18% (at Rank 5) for 3 seconds. This effect stacks up to 5 times.
  3. [Level III] Earth Flip Earth Flip - Element is now [Earth]. After the finishing blow, thrust your sword deeper into the ground, inflicting +120.0% basic skill Damage (at Rank 5).
  4. [RUNE] GalewindGalewind - Increases the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much faster.
STRIKE WAVE
STRIKE WAVE

Berserker concentrates energy on his greatsword and releases it forward, cleaving the ground. This skill can be charged for 0.8s to deal moderate amounts of damage before being fully charged, and very high amounts of damage when overcharged.

This offensive skill deals its damage in 4 separate hits that go out in a wave pattern. Depending on the boss's hitbox, you might not be able to land all 4 hits, sadly. With enough practice, you should be able to land at least 3 on any boss.

  • Stagger: Mid-High
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 12

  1. [Level I] Wave Wave - Increases the skill's Outgoing Damage by up to +18% (at Rank 5) per Charge Level. This will incentivize you, even more than you already are, to always overcharge this Skill.
  2. [Level II] Limit Break Limit Break - Increases the max Charge Level by 1 and reduces the time required to reach Charge Level 2 by 0.1s. The Overcharge Damage is also increased by up to +70% (at Rank 5). This synergizes very well with WaveWave and promotes overcharging even more.
  3. [Level III] Earth Flip Earth Flip - Element is now [Earth], The spirit sword flips the ground and travels slowly, attacking up to 4 times and inflicting up to +144% Damage (at Rank 5).
  4. [RUNE] GalewindGalewind - Increases the skill's casting speed. With this, the Skill's animation becomes much quicker.
RED DUST
RED DUST

Berserker swings his greatsword upward, summoning red energy and dealing moderate amounts of damage. On a successful hit, Berserker's attack power is increased by 24% for 6 seconds.

This skill serves as your team synergy as it applies the Damage AmplificationDamage Amplification debuff on the target. Moreover, thanks to the  Vital Point HitVital Point Hit, using it will also buff your Crit Rate for 6 seconds.

Attack Type: Back Attack

Level 12

  1. [Level I] Damage AmplificationDamage Amplification - On Red Energy hit, incoming damage to struck enemies from all party members is increased by 6% for 16 seconds. This is a must-have as everyone needs a team synergy skill, even a Berserker.
  2. [Level II] Vital Point HitVital Point Hit - On Red Energy Hit, your Crit Rate is increased by up to +33% for 6 seconds. This adds another Self-Buff to the skill, which is great.
  3. [Level III] Red WaveRed Wave - Berserker now swings the greatsword upwards and fires red energy further away, dealing 175% increased Damage (at Rank 5) with 256% increased Attack Range.
  4. [RUNE] BleedBleed -  This Rune makes RED DUSTRed Dust inflict all enemies hit with a Bleeding effect for 6 seconds. This works well with the skill thanks to its AoE.
MOUNTAIN CRASH
MOUNTAIN CRASH

Berserker stomps the ground with one foot to attack all enemies within a 4-meter radius, dealing moderate amounts of Earth Damage and applying an Earthquake effect on them for 2 seconds.

This is your Counter Skill that also generates quite a lot of Identity Gauge (thanks to the FocusFocus Tripod). Moreover, the Swift Attack PrepSwift Attack Prep Tripod provides you with a potent Attack Speed self-buff that helps speed up your rotation.

  • Stagger: Mid
  • Attack Type: Frontal Attack
  • Counter: Yes

Level 10

  1. [Level I] Focus Focus - Increases Fury Meter Gain by up to +150% (at Rank 5). This is a must-have as fast Fury Meter gains are essential to increase the build's overall DPS.
  2. [Level II] Swift Attack PrepSwift Attack Prep - On Physical and Shockwave hits, your Attack Speed is increased by up to +30% (at Rank 5) for 3 seconds.
  3. [Level III] Earthquake ShockEarthquake Shock - Sends forth a shockwave that gradually spreads, attacking enemies within 8 meters. Crit Rate of the additional attack is increased by 20%. The additional attack deals 120% (at Rank 5) basic skill damage.
  4. [RUNE] WealthWealth - With this Rune, your Fury Meter gain from using the ability will be increased by another 30% (with an Epic Rune). This is a nice buff to your Burst Mode's uptime.
SHOULDER CHARGE
SHOULDER CHARGE

Berserker charges 7 meters toward the target location and deals low amounts of damage to enemies in the path.

This is your main mobility skill/gap closer - use it accordingly. With the Excellent MobilityExcellent Mobility tripod at Rank 5, SHOULDER CHARGEShoulder Charge will give you a decent movement range of 11 meters.

  • Attack Type: Back Attack
  • Super Armor: Paralysis Immunity

Level 4

  1. [Level I] Excellent Mobility Excellent Mobility - Increases the Charge Distance of the skill by up to +4 meters (at Rank 5).
  2. [RUNE] Quick RechargeQuick Recharge - Gives a chance to reduce all Cooldowns on skill use. This is a nice Rune to have on Shoulder Charge because of its relatively short Cooldown.
AWAKENING
CHAIN OF VENGEANCE
CHAIN OF VENGEANCE

Berserker releases chains of energy that damage enemies and pull them in. After that, a massive explosion occurs and knocks enemies away, dealing very high amounts of damage to them.

This should be your Awakening Skill of choice as it generates much more Fury Meter than BERSERK FURYBerserk Fury does. It deals a lot of damage and benefits from the AwakeningAwakening Engraving that reduces its Cooldown by up to -50%.

  • Stagger: High
  • Super Armor: Push Immunity, Debuff Immunity

Rotations/ Skill Usage

  • Mountain CrashMountain Crash is also your Counter Skill and gives you a nice Attack Speed self-buff.
  • Shoulder ChargeShoulder Charge and Hell BladeHell Blade can be used as gap closers/mobility tools if needed.
  • Red DustRed Dust is your team synergy Skill. Use it to apply Damage AmplificationDamage Amplification to your Target and increase its Damage Taken by 6% for 16 seconds. It also gives you a Crit Rate self-buff.
  • While in the Burst Mode, you gain access to Bloody RushBloody Rush, which is a very potent burst skill.
  • A lot of your Skills deal very solid Stagger Damage (Hell BladeHell Blade, Finish StrikeFinish Strike, Tempest SlashTempest Slash, Wind BladeWind Blade, and even Strike WaveStrike Wave), remember to save some of them if there's a Stagger Phase incoming.
  • Wind BladeWind Blade, Mountain CrashMountain Crash, and Tempest SlashTempest Slash are your main Fury Meter generators. Use them on Cooldown to maximize your Identity Gauge gains.
  • Use Chain of VengeanceChain of Vengeance at the start of an Encounter to charge up some of your Fury Meter instantly.

Your Burst Mode DPS rotation looks as follows:

  1. Use Red DustRed Dust to debuff your target with Damage AmplificationDamage Amplification and give yourself a nice self-buff
  2. Use Finish StrikeFinish Strike
  3. Use Bloody RushBloody Rush
  4. Use Hell BladeHell Blade or Strike WaveStrike Wave

For Stagger Checks, use the following rotation:

  1. Use Mountain CrashMountain Crash
  2. Use Red DustRed Dust
  3. Use Finish StrikeFinish Strike
  4. Use Tempest SlashTempest Slash
  5. Use Wind BladeWind Blade

Recommended Engravings

  1. Berserker's TechniqueBerserker's Technique (Class Engraving) - During the Burst Mode, your Crit Damage is increased by (Level 1: 30%, Level 2: 40%, Level 3: 50%). After the Burst Mode ends, you're no longer affected by the Exhaustion debuff.

This powerful Engraving takes your Burst Mode to a completely new level by greatly improving your Crit Damage while Bursting. Also, it takes care of one of Berserker's biggest problems; the Exhaustion debuff that prevents him from generating Fury Meter for 30 seconds after the Burst Mode ends. In other words, Berserker's TechniqueBerserker's Technique allows you to enter Burst Mode more frequently and makes you hit much harder when it is active.

  1. GrudgeGrudge - Increases your Damage Dealt to Bosses (Level 1: +4%, Level 2: +10%, Level 3: +20%), but makes you take 20% more damage from them.

This Engraving is extremely powerful, but it will punish you if you make a mistake. As a Berserker's Technique Berserker, you're actually quite resilient, so this Engraving poses less risk than normal. Pick it up if you feel like you can avoid most (or all) avoidable damage during boss encounters. If you're still learning mechanics, you'll be better off skipping it. It's only worth using at Level 3, so never use it at level 2 and especially 1 (unless you want to take 5% more damage for every 1% increase in your own DPS).

  1. AwakeningAwakening - Reduces the Cooldown of your Awakening Skill by (Level 1: 10%, Level 2: 25%, Level 3: 50%) and increases its Maximum Use number by (Level 1: +1, Level 2: +2, Level 3: +3).

This is a must-have as your Awakening Skill not only hits extremely high but also generates a lot of Fury Meter. Because of this, AwakeningAwakening allows you to significantly increase your Burst Mode uptime. This engraving becomes more effective as you progress through Tiers - have it at Level 3.

  1. Cursed DollCursed Doll - Increases Attack Power at the cost of reduced 25% Healing Received (does not affect natural Health recovery (Level 1 - +3% Attack Power, Level 2 - 8% Attack Power, Level 3 - +16% Attack Power).

This Engraving can increase your overall DPS rather significantly, but the tradeoff is painful. Only pick it if you are able to avoid most of the incoming damage; If you lack experience, skip it. Also, using this at Levels 1 and 2 is not worth the risks involved (so, use it at Level 3 or don't use it at all).

  1. Spirit AbsorptionSpirit Absorption - Increases Attack Speed and Movement Speed by (Level 1 - 3%, Level 2 - 8%, Level 3 - 15%).

While this does not provide a Damage Boost by itself, it can be combined with Raid Captain to generate it. This works well with your Burst Mode as combining multiple Movement Speed buffs greatly increases mobility.

  1. Raid CaptainRaid Captain - Increases Damage Dealt by a percentage (Level 1: +10%, Level 2: +22%, Level 3: +45%) of basic Move Speed Bonus.

With Level 3 Spirit AbsorptionSpirit Absorption and a total Movement Speed of 140%, this Engraving will give you +18% increased damage. It also works extremely well in combination with Burst Mode and its bonuses.

  1. Keen Blunt Weapon Keen Blunt Weapon - Increases your Crit Damage (Level 1: +10%, Level 2: +25%, Level 3: +50%) but also gives your attacks a chance to deal 20% Reduced Damage.

The more Crit Rate you have, the more powerful this Engraving becomes. Berserker's Technique Berserker receives a solid Crit Rate bonus during his Burst Mode, so this is a solid choice.

  1. Master of AmbushAmbush Master  - Increases the damage you deal with Back Attacks (Level 1 - +5%, Level 2 - +12%, Level 3 - + 25%). You should get this at Level 3 (which could amount to 25% increased DPS if you're perfect at performing back attacks).

Most of the attacks you will be using have the Back Attack modifier. Because of this, Master of AmbushAmbush Master Engraving is an excellent choice. Also, it will encourage you to pay more attention to your positioning as missing Back Attacks while you have it active will make you lose even more potential DPS than otherwise. You can pick this one instead of Grudge if you prefer a safer approach.

Gear Sets, Gems, Cards, etc.

  • Gear Sets - As a DPS Class, Berserker wants His set to boost her offensive capabilities as much as possible. Here are the optimal Sets for each Tier:
    • Tier 1: Seraphic Oath Set (Epic); Boisterous Elemental Set (Legendary)
    • Tier 2: Marvelous Earth Set (Epic); Unyielding Will Set (Legendary)
    • Tier 3: Twisted Dimensional Set (Epic); Preordained Diligence Set (Legendary)
    • Mixed Set options for high T3 Gearscores:
      • Over 1415 GS: 4 pieces of Demon Beast Strength Set (Legendary) + Preordained Diligence Set Glove and Shoulder (Legendary)
      • Over 1430 GS: Preordained Diligence Set Glove and Shoulder (Legendary) + Demon Beast Strength Set Chest and Legs (Legendary) + Dominion Fang Set Weapon and Helmet (Relic)
      • Over 1445 GS: Dominion Fang Set Weapon, Helmet, Chest, and Legs (Relic) + Poem of Salvation Set Gloves and Shoulder (Relic)
  • Gems -  With these, you can apply a Cooldown Reduction or Bonus Damage to your Skills. There is a limit of 11 Gems; you should distribute them in the following way:
    • You should use Cooldown Reduction Gems on the following Skills: Red DustRed DustHell BladeHell BladeStrike WaveStrike WaveBloody RushBloody RushFinish StrikeFinish StrikeTempest SlashTempest Slash
    • You should use Attack Gems on the following Skills: Hell BladeHell Blade, Strike WaveStrike Wave, Bloody RushBloody Rush, Finish StrikeFinish Strike, Tempest SlashTempest Slash
  • Cards - Depending on your budget, you should go for one of the following Card Sets:
    • Light of Salvation Set - A Full set offers +30% Dark Damage Reduction, changes your Damage type to Holy, and increases your Holy Damage dealt by 15%.
    • Lostwind Cliff Set - A Full set offers +25% Dark Damage Reduction and +7% Critical Rate. This one is the cheaper of the recommended two.
