Project Diablo 2 Season 13 Build Tier List

Last Update: April 22, 2026

Introduction

The Project Diablo 2 continues to evolve with each new season, refining both balance and gameplay while introducing meaningful updates to keep the experience fresh. Season 13 brings a variety of buffs, reworks, and quality-of-life improvements, many of which significantly impact build performance - especially in the late game.

While one of the core goals of PD2 is to make every Skill viable, the reality is that some builds scale far better than others when it comes to endgame content. Mapping efficiency, bossing capability, survivability, and overall scaling with gear all play a much bigger role than just early progression. Because of that, this tier list is not focused purely on leveling or early-game comfort.

Instead, this is a hybrid tier list, combining both endgame performance and progression smoothness. We focus on builds that either:

Offer a smooth and efficient transition from early progression into endgame, or Excel in high-tier content to such an extent that they are worth a slower or more demanding start

The builds selected here are among the most effective and reliable choices for overall performance, including high-tier mapping, bossing, and general farming efficiency. At the same time, we take into account how realistically each build can reach that power level during a fresh season start.

Each tier reflects a balance of clear speed, survivability, gear scaling, consistency, and progression difficulty - helping you choose a build that will perform well throughout the entire season, not just at the beginning or only in the endgame.

Detailed explanation

S-Tier represents the absolute best builds in Project Diablo 2 Season 13, offering top-tier performance across all aspects of the game, mapping, bossing, and overall efficiency. These builds combine exceptional clear speed, strong survivability, and excellent scaling with gear, making them the most reliable choices for pushing endgame content.

This season, we can see some exciting shifts in the meta. More broadly, Season 13 has been very favorable to melee builds in general, with multiple buffs to weapons and masteries significantly improving their overall performance. As a result, many already strong melee archetypes have become even more powerful, making S-Tier more competitive than ever and offering a wider variety of top-performing options than in previous seasons.

Whirlwind Barbarian finally received meaningful buffs and quality-of-life improvements, bringing it back into the spotlight as a top-tier melee contender. For the longest time, the majority of the player base refused to use this Skill due to technical limitations, but now you can use Potions at any time, which removes a lot of frustrating moments from your gameplay. At the same time, Lightning Fury and Plague Javelin Amazons continue to dominate thanks to their incredible clear speed and versatility, remaining among the strongest builds available.

Most of the Lightning-themed Skills received a sizeable Buff to their Minimum Damage, which is a decent improvement for overall DPS, but a massive boost for Clear Speed in the long run. The Lightning version of the Sacrifice Paladin is still at the top as well, although the Physical or even Fire variants are not that far behind. The radius of this skill is slightly lower than before, but the Damage and Clear Speed it offers are still top-notch. The Poison Builds are more relevant than ever, and there are multiple flavours you can pick. The most popular choice is still the Poison Strike Necromancer, but you can also opt for the Druid with Rabies, the aforementioned Plague Jeveling Amazon, or even Cobra Strike with the Assassin; all of them are exceptionally strong.

There are not that many Casters in this Tier, and you are sure to recognise them from previous Seasons as they are largely unchanged in that regard. The Nova Sorceress and Volcano Druid are the best choices here, although you should keep in mind that the Sorceress is much more gear-dependent. The last unique playstyle within the S Tier is the Wake of Fire Assassin. The Lightning Traps received a decent buff, but they are still less powerful than their Fire counterpart.

Within the A-Tier, you will find the Double Throw Barbarian, which can also be very easily adjusted for the new Split Throw Skill. It has very high Damage potential thanks to the shotgunning effect, but it only works on projectiles that return, which cuts heavily into your Clear Speed. The alternative for the Barbarian players is the War Cry focus. It is the best Build you can play with groups, but it is good even in a solo environment. There are many more Casters in this Tier, at least one option for each type of Damage, with notable mention for the Hydra Sorceress. The projectiles now pierce enemies, which is a massive buff for your Clear Speed, and it is still one of the best picks for Bossing thanks to its safe playstyle and high Damage output. A similar pick is the Valk/Decoy Amazon. It received a substantial nerf in the early game, but the final potential is even higher than before, thanks to better scaling and Critical Strike changes. Another interesting and quite viable option is the Poison Creeper Druid. Other Summoner Builds might offer better Damage against Bosses, but for efficient farming, you also need speed, which they often lack.

The various types of Elemental Assassin perform quite similarly. The biggest difference lies within the content you will be running and their Immunity types. The same can be said about the Bow Amazon, although the Cold Arrow appears to have the upper hand.

The line between B-Tier and C-Tier begins to blur, and it often comes down to your preferences, knowledge, and skill level. It is largely dominated by the other Builds for Amazon and Assassin that are still good, such as the Mind Blast Assassin; they are simply unchanged or not as good as the previously mentioned Builds. The unfortunate mention here is the Fire Golem Necromancer, which lost a lot of Clear Speed due to mechanical changes. It is still ahead of its budget-friendly Clay Golem variant.

Keep in mind, even the Builds within the C-Tier are still perfectly viable options, as we didn't include many of the underperforming Builds here. They just can't compete with the top of the top. For example, the Leap Barbarian is stronger than before, but so is the Whirlwind, which remains a superior option. The Fire Blast Assassin is almost 30% stronger thanks to the new, higher limit, but its role is simply performed better by the Wake of Fire

Final Thoughts

Season 13 is still evolving, and the meta will continue to shift as players explore new builds, optimize gear setups, and push the limits of endgame content. With many recent changes affecting scaling and overall performance, some builds may rise or fall in popularity as more data and experience become available.

We recommend checking this page regularly, as we plan to update the tier list based on ongoing testing, community feedback, and emerging trends throughout the season.

Whether you’re aiming for a powerful all-around build or looking to invest in something that truly shines in endgame content, this list should provide a strong starting point for your journey in Season 13.
