Lost Ark Gold Farming and Making Guide

Lost Ark Gold Farming and Making Guide

List of the best money making methods in Lost Ark Online

Lost Ark
Gold Making Guide

Introduction

This guide aims to introduce you to the basics of Lost Ark Gold making. Hopefully, it's going to help you learn how to fill up your pockets quickly and relatively easily. Most of the below-described methods were thoroughly tested, so we can vouch for their effectiveness. With them, you should be able to make a substantial amount of gold every day. If you want to min-max your income, remember that because of the nature of Lost Ark Gold farming, mixing and matching multiple methods usually gives the best results. Also, if you are not interested in the meta-game aspects of moneymaking, you will still find some basic tips and tricks here.

Note1: For those of you who value numbers more than words, we have devised a simple Star Rating System that should make spotting moneymaking activities that meet your requirements/playstyle much easier. We have granted from 0 to 5 stars to each of the below-described activities, in three self-explanatory categories: Easiness, Quickness, and Profitability.

Note2: Please remember that the ability to analyze the in-game economy, draw conclusions from it, devise a Gold-making strategy (based on conclusions), and successfully implement it is the most important skill that you should learn (in Lost Ark, this mainly applies to market-related Gold-making methods). Moreover, remember that patience is a virtue, and rushed decisions often lead to spectacular failures (like dismantling a god-tire accessory...); be patient, analyze, double-check, succeed (or just pick a method that puts Lost Ark Gold straight into your pocket and is not connected with the in-game market in any way).

Buying Lost Ark Gold with real money is an effortless and quick way to boost your character. It can be used to get all the required equipment, gear upgrades, engravings, and more!

Lost Ark Gold Farming Methods
Daily Chaos Dungeons

After reaching level 50 and Gearscore 250, you'll gain access to Chaos Dungeons. The first two of them you do each day, on each character (!), will award you with extra rewards. Each Chaos Dungeons follows a similar pattern: you defeat monsters to fill a progress bar, if you defeat enough in 5 minutes, a portal to a new zone will open and the timer will reset. To complete the dungeon, you have to fill the progress bar without running out of time.

All your characters are given 100 chaos dungeon points (Aura of Resonance)each day and every dungeon run consumes 50 of them, maximizing your rewards in the process. To optimize your profit from Chaos Dungeons, you should do them twice each day. On every single one of your level 50 characters. This means that the more characters you have, the better for this particular method. By doing Chaos Dungeons every day on multiple characters, you will also progress your main much quicker, as you can funnel the upgrade materials you get from them to it.

  • The catch-up mechanic - For every 50 unused Aura of Resonance, you will be given a +10 rest bonus during the daily reset. When your rest bonus reaches 20 or more, the next Chaos Dungeon you enter will give you twice the loot it would have normally. The rest bonus caps at 100 and only works on the first two Chaos Dungeons each day.

So, how exactly do you profit from Chaos Dungeons?

  • The upgrade materials and accessories you get from Chaos Dungeons are tradable, which means that they can be sold for Lost Ark Gold on the Auction House. Try to avoid selling upgrade materials, unless you feel like money is currently worth more to you (upgrade materials = character progression).
  • Completing Chaos Dungeons awards you with special Shards that can be exchanged at Vendors for Engraving Recipes, Stones, valuable materials, and other items. These items are worth a lot on the Auction House - you can sell them to make an extra profit.
  • After you defeat the second boss of a Chaos Dungeon, there is a chance that a red or a gold portal will open. Entering any of these portals will award you with Gold. The amount you'll get will depend on the kind of portal, the difficulty of the dungeon, and your Gearscore (so, you should always do the highest requirement Chaos Dungeons you can).

Summary - Doing two Chaos Dungeons every day, on multiple characters, can be very profitable. If you don't have time to spare every day, the catch-up mechanic will ensure that you get more out of your limited playtime.

Daily Tasks

Lost Ark's Daily Tasks can be a solid and very reliable source of Gold if you do them regularly. They become available once you advance to level 50 and reach North Vern. There is a special (purple) questline that will explain this system to you in detail - don't skip it, as the in-game explanation of the system is actually very good.

The tasks consist of various daily and weekly missions and award special Points that reset each week. The amount awarded depends on the task type:

  • Daily tasks will give you 2 Points.
  • Weekly tasks will give you 12 Points (this is a lot and you should try to complete these every week). Weekly tasks are quite long and you might not be able to complete them in one day.

After reaching point thresholds, you will be awarded Una's Tokens. The tokens are awarded after collecting 25, 35, 45, 55, and 70 Points. These tokens can be exchanged at Gold Shops for special Lost Ark Gold Chests. There are three types of these:

  • For 80 Tokens: Hefty Gold Sack - Gives you 200 Gold, and either a Thin Gold Bar (worth 100 Gold), or a Thick Goold Bar (worth 1000 Gold).
  • For 200 Tokens: Small Safe - Gives you 600 Gold, and either a Thin Gold Bar (worth 100 Gold), or a Thick Goold Bar (worth 1000 Gold).
  • For 500 Tokens: Large Gold Chest - Gives you 1250 Gold, and either a Thin Gold Bar (worth 100 Gold), a Thick Goold Bar (worth 1000 Gold), or a Giant Gold Bar (worth 10000 Gold). You should always go for these, as the value of a Giant Gold Bar is too high to skip.

As you can see, the amount of gold you'll get from Una's Tasks is quite random, but you should get quite a hefty amount of it on average (just don't give up after getting the smallest gold bar from your first Large Gold Chest).

How to farm Una's Tokens effectively? - It's as simple as logging on your main character and grinding the tasks every day. There is a limit of 3 daily tasks (these reset each day) and 3 weekly tasks (these reset each week). You should never skip Weekly tasks, as they award the highest amount of Tokens. If you find a particular task more fun or just easier, you can favorite it so you can spot it more easily when it reappears on the list.

Tasks grant NPC Reputation - While the main incentive to do the tasks is the gold reward, they also give you reputation with NPCs (each task gives you rep with a specific NPC). Reaching high reputation levels will make you eligible for NPC-specific rewards. Some of these rewards are actually worth going for and can earn you quite a lot of Gold potentially. You can check the rewards by clicking the Rep. Info buttons in Una's Tasks tab.

Summary - Completing Una's Tasks gives you points. Getting enough points gives you Tokens. Tokens can buy you Gold Chests. Gold Chests contain varying amounts of Gold.

Guardian Raids

Guardian Raids are a very important part of Lost Ark's end-game progression system and they are among the most difficult content the game has to offer. You can attempt them alone or in a group of up to 4 players. With increasing difficulty, they yield better and better rewards, including Upgrade Materials, Accessories, and Ability Stones. To enter the hardest (and the most profitable/worthwhile) Guardian Raids, you'll need a well-geared character, however.

  • You can unlock Guardian Raids by reaching level 50 and completing the prerequisite purple quest in Vern. You can enter the Raids via the Raid Notice Board - these are found in every major city.
  • Guardian Raids have varying difficulty levels. Each level contains 4 Raids. To advance to the next level, you will have to defeat each Guardian (boss) of your current level at least once.
  • Each of the Raids has a Minimum Item Level requirement, a time limit of 20 minutes, a respawn limit of 3, and certain item limitations (only Battle Items can be used).
  • Only the first two Guardian Raids you complete each day will grant you loot via the Guardian Soul system. This limit is reset during the Server Reset and is separate for each of your characters. This means that the more raid-ready characters you have, the better (if you want to do more than 2 Guardian Raids each day).
  • Guardian Raids have a Rest Bonus system identical to the one CHaos Dungeons have. You'll get double loot from the Raid if you have 20 or more Rest Bonus points.

How to profit from Guardian Raids? - The first two Guardian Raids you do each day are bound to drop tradable Upgrade Materials and Accessories. You can sell these to other players to make some extra Lost Ark Gold. You should pay close attention to the Accessories you drop, as they can potentially be worth a small fortune (depending on their Engravings and Grade).

Summary - Completing Daily Guardian Raids can be very profitable if you'd decide to sell the loot to other players. If you do them on multiple characters every day, your profits will skyrocket.

Boss Rush

After reaching Tier 2, you will have access to Boss Rush. This challenging end-game activity will pin you against 15 waves of deadly bosses that inhabit all of Arkesia. Defeating them can earn you valuable materials and gems - these can be used to progress your character or make some additional Lost Ark Gold.

  • To access Boss Rush, a special Entrance Ticket is required. The Tickets drop from daily Chaos Dungeon runs (2nd-floor Bosses carry them). Guild Vendor serves as an additional source of Tickets - you can exchange Symael Bloodstones (obtained from Sieges) for Ticket Chests each week with him.
  • You can clear Boss Rushes solo or in a group. Try to avoid auto-match if you'd like your run to be as smooth as possible - create your team manually and don't forget to include a Support Character (Bard, Paladin, or a Gunlancer).
  • Boss Rush entrances can be found in all major cities, they are marked on the map and very easy to find (look for a statue icon).
  • Rushes have iLevel/Gearscore requirements and their difficulty increases with each subsequent stage. Moreover, you can't change your Skills, Gear, and Battle Items once the fight begins - remember to set your character up in advance! If you die, you'll respawn automatically after a pre-set amount of time (this time increases after each completed stage).
  • You have a limited time to beat each stage - if you run out of time, you lose.
  • To get all possible Rewards, you will have to complete all 15 stages in a timely manner. Stages are divided into 4 Reward groups (1-3, 4-6, 7-10, 11-15), and each subsequent group gives better rewards than the previous one.

How to profit from Boss Rush? - Gems you obtain from Boss Rushes are tradable. This means that you can easily sell them via the in-game Auction House. Doing so will make you a quite substantial amount of Lost Ark gold. To maximize your profits, you should do Daily Chaos Dungeons on multiple characters to maximize your daily Ticket yield - the more Tickets you get, the more Rushes you can do each day and the more Gems you can get.

Summary - Boss Rush is a great source of valuable Gems that can easily be sold to other players via the in-game Auction House. Boss Rush tickets are obtained through Chaos Dungeons, so you're bound to get them every day if you play the game actively. Treat this as a Ticket for additional profit from Chaos Dungeons (pun intended).

Chaos Gates

These are daily events that become available once you reach level 50. You can access them via the Procyon's Compass, which is a button located on the left of your screen, just under the currency/info bar. There are four different types of Chaos Gates available (Chaos, Darkness, Plague, and Phantom), but, instead of focusing on the Gate's type, you should focus on its iLevel/Gearscore requirement - the higher it is, the better rewards you might get.

  • You can find the chosen Chaos Gate's location by clicking on the compass icon next to its name on the menu screen.
  • Remember that Chaos gates are only available for a limited time each day. The exact schedule is available in the relevant menu screen (you can also set Alarms to not miss your chosen Gates).
  • One of the rewards you'll get from completing Chaos Gates is Secret Maps. These will be your main source of income from completing these.
  • Secret Maps lead to a special Dungeon from which you can get special shard pouches that are tradable and worth a lot of Gold.
  • At the end of the Chaos Gate, a single Legendary Secret Map will be auctioned off. Usually, it will sell for ridiculous amounts of gold that will be then shared equally between all Chaos Gate participants (similarly to a GDKP system known from some other MMOs).

How to profit from Chaos Gates? - To make the most out of each Chaos Gate you enter, firstly, make sure that you do the ones with the highest requirements available to you. Secondly, never use Secret Maps solo - these maps can be used while in a group. If every person in a group has a map of their own, you'll basically quadruple your profit. Here's how you can profit from maps:

  • You can exchange Rare Maps for higher-tier ones at map exchanger NPC.
  • You can sell your Epic Map (purple) to three different people at once - you open the dungeon for them and they give you Lost Ark Gold in exchange. Alternatively, you search for three other people who are willing to share their maps and you quadruple your profit that way.
Summary - Completing Chaos Gates will award you with Secret Maps that lead to dungeons filled with valuable treasure. Team up with other adventures who own Secret Maps and set off on a Treasure Hunt!

Trade Skills

Gathering materials in Lost Ark is a laborious task, but it can be quite profitable. If your energy bar is full and you have nothing better to do, you might as well make some Lost Ark Gold, right?

Here's a very brief breakdown of how gathering in Lost Ark works: The trade skill system in Lost Ark revolves around Energy; Your character will regenerate work energy at the rate of 30 energy per 10 minutes, with a cap of 10000. Using trade skills to gather stuff consumes energy, so you have a limited number of actions per day, basically. Now, how to get gold via Trade Skills: Very simply, actually. Gathered items can simply be sold on the Auction House for Gold, which means that you can burn your Work Energy every day to make a steady income. When your energy reaches the cap, you will effectively start losing Lost Ark Gold, so you should never let that happen.

Which Trade Skills are the best for making Gold? - For the most part, Foraging and Excavating offer the best returns, Mining, Hunting, and Logging give rather bad returns, and Fishing gives comparatively bad returns but allows you to burn your Energy the quickest, so it's a decent choice if you don't have much time to spare.

Summary - Turn your Life Energy (and time) into gold by gathering and selling materials.
