Introduction
The Lightning Fury is easily one of the best Skills in terms of Clear Speed in the whole Project Diablo 2. It is a Javelin Skill that fires a single Projectile that splits into multiple lesser Lightnings upon contact. Due to multiple changes to the Skill scaling, it is now even more reliant on your gear to truly shine, making it a rather poor choice for the start of the new season. This Skill uses 100% of your Weapon Damage, but also adds a bit of Lightning Damage with every Level. The added Damage is very low, which is why it is not a good starter. However, if you can get the basic Setup going, it offers even better Clear Speed than ever. The main Lightning Fury projectile can pierce up to 6 times now, and each collision will trigger 14-20 smaller Lightnings, depending on your Skill level. With so many projectiles on your screen, you are sure to obliterate hordes of enemies extremely quickly.
Your Damage against Bosses is also great, thanks to the synergistic Lightning Bolt Skill, which fires a simple projectile with added Lightning Damage. Unlike the Lightning Fury, it gains tons of added Lightning Damage with each Level. This Build is focused on a single element type. If you can't break enemy Immunity, you should simply skip that fight or rely on your Mercenary.
The Amazon is fairly unique compared to other Classes: you have no defensive Skill, and you can't easily teleport across the map. Instead, you gain tons of Movement Speed and a decent chance to Dodge melee and ranged Attacks. This makes enemy spells especially deadly. To counter that, you should raise your maximum Resistances, improve your Block, and get even more Movement Speed on your gear to avoid being hit more easily. It also improves your Clear Speed, so it is a worthy investment.
Recommended Breakpoints
Javelins are very fast Weapons, so getting to the maximum Attack Speed is quite easy.
- Increased Attack Speed (IAS): 52% (low budget) → 89% (high investments)
- Faster Hit Recovery (FHR): 52% (good enough for most content)
Ideally, you should avoid taking Hits at all, so you can save some investments on the FHR.
Stat Allocation
- Strength: Enough to meet gear attribute requirements
- Dexterity: Enough to meet gear attribute requirements and cap Attack Rating
- Vitality: Invest all
- Energy: Nothing
Dexterity also grants a bit of Damage, but that amount is negligible. It is better to invest all your spare points into survivability.

Skill Trees
The Skill Tree is extremely simple for this Build. Keep in mind, this Setup is not suitable for early leveling, as you are very reliant on your Gear. For the leveling purposes and early-season progress, we recommend following our Summon Amazon PD2 Build. Once you are ready to swap for the Javelin Setup, you should max out the Lightning Bolt and Lightning Fury as your main Skills. They also share the only remaining synergy Skill: the Power Strike. You can also invest one Point into Javelin and Spear Mastery to improve your Physical Damage, which is not impactful on your DPS, but improves your sustain if you have Life or Mana Steal on your Gear.
In the Passive and Magic Skills, you should max out the Pierce as soon as possible. You should also spend one point on the Penetrate to get plenty of bonus Attack Rating. All your remaining points should be spent on Dodge and Evade. The Dodge is usually more useful defensively, but the Evade grants a passive Movement Speed bonus, which is why it is usually the preferred option. Naturally, you won't pick any Skills in the Bow Tree.
Gear
The Lightning Facets are insanely valuable for this Setup, so you should avoid using Runewords. The Thunderstroke Weapon is tailor-made for this Build; there is no better option to use. The Shield has broader choices. The Spirit Ward is the only Shield with +2 Skill Levels. At a lower budget, you can also use Gerke's Sanctuary or Lidless Wall. Alternatively, you can make the Epiphany Runeword, which is usually meant for Spell users, but it also grants 1-750 Lightning Damage to your Attacks, which is a massive amount. The Griffon's Eye Helmet is the best option, but the Valkyrie Wing, Harlequin Crest, Steel Shade, Andariel's Visage, or Veil of Steel are all good picks due to Skill levels and additional utility.
It is very important to reach 100% Pierce for your Projectiles. It is mostly sourced from the Skill Tree, but you will have to make up the remaining amount on your Gear. You can get it on Cat's Eye Amulet, Treads of Cthon Boots, and Razortail Belt. It is also a possible corruption outcome on Gloves, Belt, and Amulet. Later on, you will be able to replace some of them with more valuable Items, such as Highlord's Wrath Amulet and Thundergod's Vigor Belt.
For the Body armor, you should pick anything that boosts your Defense and grants Skill Levels. The popular choice is the Guardian Angel, Steel Carapace, or Arkaine's Valor. Some players also opt for the Enigma Runeword for the Blink Skill.
Ideally, you should use Magic Gloves with +3 Skills, 20% Increased Attack Speed, and a useful Corruption, such as sustain or Pierce chance. Alternatively, use Rare Gloves with similar modifiers, or get Dracul's Grasp for the sustain. The Magnus' Skin can be temporarily used for Attack Speed and Pierce, but it should be replaced rather quickly.
On the Rings, you will want Skill levels and some utility: Bul-Kathos for the Life Steal, Stone of Jordan with Lightning Damage, or Wisp Projector for Magic Find and Attack Rating. You may also need the Raven Frost for Freeze immunity, or a Rare Ring for lacking utility.
Charms
Large Charms that improve your Lightning Damage by 3% are usually stronger than the usual Skillers, but keep in mind that Lightning Fury gains additional Projectile split every 5 soft levels. Using Large Charms also means you won't have that much space for Small Charms to cap your Resistance, FHR, or FBR.
You should also include the usual combination: Gheed's Fortune, Hellfire Torch, and Annihilus. You will want this combo for every Build in the game.
Mercenary
The usual Act 2 Mercenary with the Infinity Runeword is the default choice for the endgame for the Conviction Aura. At first, you can also use the Act 1 Mercenary with the Vigor Aura and Pus Spitter Crossbow to cast the Lower Resistance Curse, or stick to the Act 2 Merc with the Stormspire to trigger Static Field. Remaining Items should ensure the survivability of your Mercenary.
- Vampire Gaze or Andariel's Visage or Ferocity (Helmet)
- String of Ears or Nosferatu’s Coil (belt)
- Shaftstop or Innocence (Armour)
- Lava Gout's or Dracul Grasp (gloves)
- Rare Boots with Life, Movement Speed, and Resistance
Final Thoughts
The Lightning Fury Amazon, popularly called Javazon, is easily the best setup you can pick for fast Clear Speed. It has insane AoE Coverage, high mobility even in town, and is very enjoyable to play.
